Disclaimer
This is an unofficial duelling game, which means that normal site rules apply! This thread is open for up to 6 players. The only prerequisite is to have Flipendo otherwise known as the knockback jinx in your trunk. IC this game would have been advertised by Alan for players from the waitlist, OOC this means that everyone is able to join but waitlisters get 24 hours to join first! Once that 24 hours is up other interested students may join and fill up the spots.
It had been a while since Alan had organised anything of the sort, too busy usually with both school work and things regarding his prefect and captain duties. But thanks to the Easter break he had a little more time to just chill and that opened up some space to think of other things, such as holding a duelling game. He had done many of those in the past and thus felt like it would be a welcome surprise to any of the still waitlisted duellists and other students who were interested. The event was quickly planned and he reserved the duelling club for the small event he was planning to hold there. The set up of the game was quite simple, get a flying key and set it up in the middle of the room. Then of course all that had been left to do was mark the way to the key in order to make it a little less chaotic. He used some white colour on the floor for that, it was a good contrast to the wooden floors. Now the only thing that was left was to wait for the students to enter the club ready themselves. He knew that the Knockback jinx was perhaps a slightly chaotic chance for this, but where was the fun if all was left too tame?

Raizel had been looking for something fun for quite some time now and with Easter Break, there isn't that much to do if she were to be honest. Roaming around the castle, walking down the once bustling halls, dressed in a plain red and black shirt and shorts, her wand kept in her pocket. It was like she was in a different place. After a few minutes of aimless walking, she found herself stopping just in front of the dueling club's sturdy oak doors, staring at it with a blank look in her dark brown eyes. The only times she finds herself here is when she has a practice duel or when she just wants to fire some spells at the training dummies.
She found herself here. There was something going on in there, something interesting that'll help in fighting off the boredom. She had heard about a game that was being held there, advertised to them even. At first, she shrugged it off, thinking that she might not have time for it but it seems like deep inside, she was interested in it. Who wouldn't be interested in a game that was intended for people in the waitlists of dueling teams. Whatever that game, she's sure it'll be action packed and thrilling. The thought made her grin. Might as well give it a go. She pushed the door open, entering the said dueling club and giving it a quick scan to see what is up. There was some sort of set up there, probably where the game will take place. That made her grin. "This will be fun."

After a fascinating but tiring day of study for his Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Ashley had finished his homework. On any other day, he would visit the duelling club to watch folks practise their duelling and pick up a few tips from them.Spoken Words:X|Thoughts: X
He noted that a Gryffindor prefect had announced something about an event planned. Ashley experienced a slight rush of excitement as he was determined to go since he knew it would be thrilling and because he was on the waiting list for his house, he needed to arrive in good time before more people showed up and before the area became completely packed.
He discovered another Gryffindor student and hurried to the meeting spot. As he made his slow, stealthy approach, the lass said, "This will be fun," and the boy heard her nod in agreement. Ashley muttered in a low voice, "Yes it will be fun indeed," and then he smirked then smiled ominously.
He found something fascinating about the game, and he experienced the same rush as he witnessed players casting spells at one another. What a great thing it would be to genuinely cast a spell on the individuals he would encounter. Sweet, he muttered to himself.
He greeted the lass and made an introduction. Hi. I'm Ashley, and I'm from the Ravenclaw house. How about you?
He gave the lass a kind nod to show that he was genuinely happy to meet her.
He smiled and said, "This game is fascinating, I can't wait to see how it ends out actually. Maybe we'll get paired up together, but good luck with everything, okay?"
He had never given an introduction quite like that one. Ashley did occasionally smile, therefore it's likely that he is concocting a wild scheme in his head if he is grinning. Does he consider casting a spell on a fellow student? As the journey progresses, that would be determined.𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑹𝒂𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒍 𝑽𝒐𝒍𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒛 (𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒋𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆)

Doing a random trip around the castle to see where I would end up was something I hadn't done in a long time. Not since October or November of 2022 actually. I don't know what propelled me to do it now, but why not? Who knows, I might even end up where I need to be, though it's highly unlikely. I took the moving stairs anyway.
I was on the 4th floor now, and after opening a random door, I found myself in a very familiar place. The Dueling Room? Again? Are you serious? I pulled on a bit of a wry expression for a second until I saw a couple of people waiting in there. What was going on? It sure felt like something was going on. Smiling, I looked around for any clues.
And then I remembered a game being advertised. Interesting... I was intending to be a duelist and was waiting for it, so why not take part in a dueling game? I looked at the 2 students, both about my age maybe, standing in the room. I honestly didn't really recognize either of them. Intending to make conversation, I walked up to the students already there.
Scratching the back of my head and looking far to the left, I said, "Hello there! I'm Aurora, or "Ro", I'm a Hufflepuff, 1st year. I'm excited about this. Are you?" Well, it would've been different if I had actually made eye contact. I smiled at the two students and admired the setup of the Dueling Room for the game.

Easter break was finally there and Ying took it as a blessing, she needed to catch up on all her subjects and a break in classes couldn’t had come in a better time. She had gave her best last month, pushing forward in her studies so she could be able to organise her time accordingly to what she was expected to fulfil. She had promise her parents that she would be able to find a balance between and magical and muggle studies and so far her attention had been diverted to learn new spells and potions and not so much about chemistry and physics. She needed to change that and so, she intended to spend her days at the library or in another quiet places at the old castle, studying and improving her knowledgeable in those matters.
She was on her way through the unusually not so crowded corridor, when she hear someone talk about a duelling happening at the duelling club. Normally the sound of mixed conversation makes impossible to hear anything clearly, just a background noise of different voices and people laughing or arguing…Ying’s curiosity made her stop in her tracks and change the course of her steps.
Walking along the fourth flour she finally arrived to the heavy oaken doors. Pushing it she entered the spacious room. Looking around she realised she hadn’t been the first one to arrive there. She recognised her friend Raizel at first glance, obviously she would be in there! “Hey Rai!” She greeted her friend with a cheeky smile and an acknowledging look, by now both knew their shared passion towards the duelling sport. Ying also noticed the blue eyed Ravenclaw boy from the last time watching the official teams duelling, “Nice to see you again!” She kindly said to him with a nod and a warm smile. The other girl present there, she hadn’t had the pleasure to meet yet, “Hi! I’m Ying!” She introduced herself to the red-haired girl and to the other boy. She recognised him has a prefect from her house and also has the Gryffindor’s duelling captain, “This is an awesome idea! Hope you don’t mind me join you?” She inquired looking hopefully at him.

Alan was happy to see that some of the duellists on the waitlist had showed interest to join, that would make the game all the more fun. He was also happy to see that two of the kids that showed up were from his very own house, meaning he could already take a peek at their strengths and weaknesses in duelling situations and offer assistance during practice accordingly. "Of course you can join, I am glad you came here," he offered to the girl who had found her way to them last. He gave the students a few seconds to settle and mingle before addressing them as a group.
"For those of you who don't know, my name is Alan and I am the captain of the Gryffindor team. Alright with that out of the way, I'll move on to explaining the game! The game rules are simple, only the use of Flipendo is allowed, no friendly fire and other than that the only objective is to reach they flying key first. The team who grabs them first wins, any questions?" he asked before taking a look at the four students. His first instinct would have been to pair the Gryffindors but that was somewhat boring and really not his style, so he decided to mix it up a it. "Raizel is paired with Ro as Team Red and Ying is paired with Ashley as Team Blue." He gestured to the opposite sites of the game area. "The names of the teams are really not important so if you have any better ones feel free to name your own team," he offered with a grin. He felt like there wasn't much necessity to explain much beyond that, this was after all just a silly and very simple game that was supposed to make some time fly by like seconds.
"The game starts when everyone is on their side of the field!"

While the kind of game this will be is still a mystery, Raizel was already feeling fired up about it. Was it the fact that they'll be throwing spells at each other? Maybe? She is aware by now that she craves for thrill, especially when it involves spell casting like dueling and this activity although sometimes, that trait of hers can be very scary. One by one, people arrived and soon enough, there were 4. Two of them were people that she had probably seen in a few classes. She looked between the two, giving a nod of acknowledgement when they introduced each other. "I'm Raizel, first year, Gryffindor." She introduced herself after, showing a friendly smile at the two, keeping a calm exposure.
After the two, a familiar figure greeted them and it was none other than her friend, Ying. "Oh, Ying, glad you made it." She told her with a bright grin on her face. She was kind of expecting her to be here and she would've been disappointed if she didn't show up… well, just a bit disappointed anyway. Once they settled and the organizer of the game introduced himself, she began to listen to the rules of the game. The flying key as a goal and then the only way to stop your opponents is by casting the Knockback Jinx. Now… this is getting really interesting. Once the teams had been announced, she went into position, looking over to Aurora. "Well, best of luck to us all." She told her with a smile, a hint of excitement present in those dark brown eyes of hers, eager to start this game.

Another girl came in right after me, and it looked like no one else was coming. But maybe that would change? I introduced myself to the girl. It looked like everyone there was a 1st year. Fun! People my own age to work with! "Nice to meet you Ying! I'm Aurora, but most people call me Ro or something like that." And then, it looked like we were going to start the game.
Oh, and there we go, we get partnered! Alan, the captain of the Gryffindor team, separated us into the red team and the blue team. I was on red That was quick! I look at the other 3 students. Uh, who's Raizel again? I never actually learned any of their names. That made me feel a little embarrassed, honestly. Then the brunette girl who was one of the first there acknowledged me.
Oh, I'm stupid. She must be Raizel. "Yes, good luck to you too," I said, offering my hand to shake. I smiled at her, equally excited. This was going to be so much fun! I was only hoping I didn't get Flipendoed, and that I'd also be ready in case I got the chance to Flipendo somebody. It wasn't my favorite spell, but it was still satisfying.
I looked at Team Blue, which consisted of Ying and...uh, who was the other kid? I was too late to hear his name. Oh well, I guessed that I would need to be faster next time. I was still ecstatic though, despite my cluelessness, and I was quite impatient for us to get started.

Ashley genuinely found the idea of duelling fascinating, and since he was now on the duel premises, his hunger for spell casting increased significantly. He needed the ideal targets who would satiate his desire for a duel, but he hasn't found any yet. The young man's appetite might be satiated today if this game proves to be more exciting than he anticipates.Spoken Words:X|Thoughts: X
As he continued to watch, the young Hufflepuff girl emerged and greeted Rai and Ashley, who were already there. Ashley presented himself to the other lass as "Ashley," and she introduced herself as "Ro." To clarify, the charming doll Ashley had met while watching the Slytherin vs. Ravenclaw battle was none other than Ying. Ashley had not spent enough time with her in order to fully comprehend her, but the young man frequently remarked that she resembles a living doll.
Ashley had listened to the others without even making an effort to engage in meaningful discussion. The Gryffindor prefect's face was then traced by his blue eyes, and he listened to him so intently that his gaze never left him.
"For those of you who don't know, my name is Alan and I am the captain of the Gryffindor team. Alright with that out of the way, I'll move on to explaining the game! After Prefect Alan had finished speaking to the four individuals, Ashley raised his hand. "I understand, but how many keys are we expected to have?" Curious Ashley questioned.
The little Ravenclaw would move to stand alongside his new teammate, Ying, if he had received a satisfactory response. The two were not expecting to end up in something like that someday, but destiny was undoubtedly something unique.

Alan only had to take a small look around to see all four of the first years get into position along the duelling club room. The game would start and it was a simple game at that so originally Alan was not very concerned about any of them being confused about the rules of the game. But perhaps he should have still offered a small moment for them to ask any questions they might have had about the game? After all this was likely still very new to them and that showed when both Ashley and Ying did not as much as move after he had declared the game as started. He was a little concerned what this would mean for the advancement of the game as this put them in a tricky position about having to catch up now, but Alan was sure enough that with a little bit of riskiness that shouldn't be an issue. And even if they did end up losing because of this blunder this was meant to be a fun little game anyway, so who really cared about that?
Both Raizel and Aurora used the moment of carelessness of the other team to advance one area closer to the flying key. But just because they were closer now, that did not mean that they would win this game. After all they still had to actually catch the key!
