Her footsteps patted silently against the cobblestone floor as she entered the dark room. Aurelia had never been to the abandoned toilet but the mauderers map had told her how to get there. The map was not easy to come by and it was also extremely expensive but the use of a few galleons proved to be worth it. Due to the piece of parchment which could magically open by itself, it had allowed her to sneak through the corridors effortlessly without a source of light to guide her with. The maunderers map had showed her every person in a fifty feet radius and she had dodged detention possibly five times thanks to it.

"Lumos," She breathed and the tip of her wand had light up. The girl held her hand in front of her eyes, shielding it from the blinding white glow. Her eyes took a moment to adjust to the light before she was able to see as per usual. It was even brighter than the torch application on her iPhone that was now probably collecting dust on her bedside table. There it was, the sink. Also known as the entrance to the chamber of secrets. It was the thing that had brought her from Girls dormitory in the gryffindor tower all the way to the abandoned toilets in the second floor. Curiosity. She needed to know if it was real or not. It was something interesting to write about for her article.

Her head whipped around when she heard a small noise. Perhaps it was a rat scuttling though the sewers. Aurelia took her map out and to her horror, a name 'John' appeared. There were quite a few Johns in the school but rumours about strange thing happening made the eleven year old girl wary. There had been people talking about a mask man terrorising the school. This could possibly be him and she was in deep trouble if it was. A part of her was screaming for her to leave, the other part was curious to see who it actually was. Like always, she chose to ignore the part that feared. She was fearless.

Aurelia gripped her wand tightly and pointed in the direction of where the map said the boy would be. She was a Gryffindor and she was brave.
"Show yourself." She demanded.

What a day...

Studying, lectures, crowded halls, persistent attempts at befriending John... For as much as the young farm boy attempted to avoid others, he always found himself taking the brunt of others' kindness. To say the least, it was exhausting. If only his heart allowed him to be heartless, and simply brush other off like they were dust on his robes, but no. He could never allow himself to just be mean...

At least one such encounter provided information he could use, the abandoned toilets.. Many stories surrounded this place, some sinister, some as simple as the toilets flooding and being too vile to use again, but for John? It could very well be a new haven. A place he could go to properly avoid others, where he could finally breath. Just breath, without having a single word uttered because of it. Several hours of alone time in a dark, abandoned restroom may seem... Strange, but for John, it was absolutely necessary. At least, it was when he wasn't allowed off school grounds for the moment. He'd simply snuck away after supper and found his way to place in question.

It was quiet... "Perfect." This was the kind of silence where you could almost hear your thoughts echo, and John loved it. The sounds of nature were the only sounds he found soothing, not the hustle and bustle of students rushing, and stressing, and just having bad days in general. So silence? Was the next best option. Settling in onto one of the many available toilets, John sat back and relaxed. Something he hadn't been able to do for some time..

Unfortunately, his relaxation wouldn't last for long.. Footsteps woke him from a small nap, and he was met with darkness.

"Have I really been here for that long?" This could be bad, was it a teacher following a tip? A prefect searching for him? No matter who it was, he needed to get out! Being expelled in his first week was the last thing he needed, he could only imagine what his father would have to say... Sneaking from the stall, John silently made his way for the exit - a clear shine of lumos lighting a corner of the restroom, but a glance was enough for him to miss a small piece of rubble on the ground, and he kicked it. "What have I done..." The worst possible outcome.. The absolute worst possible outcome. Lumos illuminated his figure, but the caster was hidden behind its glare.

"You treat this as though you're meant to be here.." John kid, not recognizing the voice of the girl before him. She was certainly no professor, and he didn't recognize the voice to be either of his prefects. So for now? It was safe to assume she was simply another delinquent. "Now will you stop with that spell? You'll get us both caught, and losing points is the last thing either of us need..." He was trying to be kind, but an encounter with a teacher would be far worse than hurting a girl's feelings right now...

Her shoulders relaxed. The voice sounded like one from a fellow student. The light from her wand illuminated the area, allowing her to see the boy clearly. She looked down at the name on the marauders map. According to the parchment, his name was John Swann. Aurelia wondered who ever created such a thing. The boy probably would know her name but she knew his, thanks to the handy magical map.
"You treat this as though you're meant to be here."
Aurelia rolled her eyes as his comment. It was an abandoned girls bathroom after all. It was reserved for girls only... at least before it was abandoned. When Aurelia came to think about it, why was the bathroom abandoned in the first place? There was probably a reason behind it and it might be due it being the entrance of the chamber of secrets. She didn't know for sure but it was what others in the school said it was.
"Now will you stop with that spell? You'll get us both caught, and losing points is the last thing either of us need..."
Aurelia had met many apprehensive people in Hogwarts, the ones who were always afraid of getting caught by professors, if only they had their own marauders map. It took Aurelia weeks to get her hands on one.

The girl chuckled lightly, " If you'd keep speaking so loudly you might wake Moaning Myrtle up, John." Aurelia also had heard that a ghost lurked in the abandoned toilets, some had even seen her. They said she was pretty timid and didn't like to show her face unless Harry Potter was around. She let the light stay on, there weren't other footprints on the map, which meant no one else was near, obviously, the boy didn't know that nor why she kept looking down at the piece of yellow parchment.

She approached the sinks, the mirrors were shattered and rusting. She kept a watchful eye, trying to find any clues if there was an actual entrance. Then she spotted the words engrave on the top. A clue? She didn't recognise the language it was written in. It wasn't Dutch nor German, and it definitely wasn't English. Maybe the boy would know.

"Hey John, why exactly where you in here in the first place?" She asked, a rather random question. Who on earth would enter a creepy abandon toilet only to crouch at one of its dusty corners.

"Moaning Myrtle... Trying to scare me now?" John felt as though he was being made a fool, but that feeling didn't even compare to his bewilderment.

"How do you know my name? Are there mind readers at Hogwarts, too?" He questioned, seriously hoping that wasn't the case and he'd merely happened across her in the halls in the past. If there were mind readers, he'd have to watch what he thinks too, and that would simply be hell. Ignoring his confusion, however, John decided to get a better look at the girl that had wandered in on him as she stopped waving her irritatingly bright spell in his face. Thanks to her, his eyes had to readjust to the darkness again... But he was at least able to make out a crimson trim on her robes.

She seemed confused about why John would sit around in the bathroom, but he was equally confused why she would be searching through it.

"Did you.. Lose something? Have a note in your hand for where to find it?" There was really no other explanation the boy could think of. His father may have told him about magic, but the wizarding world? Entirely foreign, and adjustment was still taking a bit for the boy. John looked rather irritated when he was questioned for being there, and it certainly showed on his face - not that she could see it anymore.

"I'm here for some alone time, it seems practically impossible to find that at this school, and that holds true even in these 'abandoned' bathrooms. What about you, mystery girl. What could you possibly want from here, this late at night?" She still hadn't introduced herself... Maybe knowing his name made him feel as though she didn't need to introduce herself. Not everyone could just know another's name..

Aurelia bent down, searching for any clues that might be found under the sink. She waved her wand around, there was nothing but slimy green algae on the bottom of her ceramic sinks. Perhaps there was some secret code that would reveal the entrance but Aurelia obviously couldn't figure what it was. She wasn't was smart as a Ravenclaw and could only guess. She stood up and tapped her chin as she thought. What could possibly be the secret code.

Then the boy began asking his questions. Aurelia waited for him to finish his string of question, he was clearly confused.
How do you know my name? Are there mind readers at Hogwarts, too?
Did you.. Lose something? Have a note in your hand for where to find it?
I'm here for some alone time, it seems practically impossible to find that at this school, and that holds true even in these 'abandoned' bathrooms. What about you, mystery girl. What could you possibly want from here, this late at night?
A mischievous thought came across the young girl's mind. She was going to make it confusing for him, after all, where was the fun in just giving him a proper answer straight away. The boy looked about the same age as herself and he probably didn't know much more than she did about the wizarding world, especially the way he asked about mind readers. This would be fun.

Aurelia knew a bit about mind reader, they were called legilimens and usually worked in the ministry of magic. One of her many aunts had the ability too, it was quite frustrating as she'd always knew what she and her cousins were up to.

"Mind readers? You mean Legilimens? You've got me wrong, I'm no Legilimen,"She chuckled lightly. The few months as a member of the stage magic club, Hogwart's first drama club, had done her good. Her acting skills have undeniably improved.

"John, would you mind telling me what year it is? I'm really not sure if I've arrived in the right Era. I came from the year 2064." the girl added, trying to make her tone sound convincing, as if she was really a time traveller.

Then she turned towards one of the many broken mirrors and inspected her face, touching it as if seeing herself for the first time.

"I would say, I look much prettier as my younger self, all the scars the dark elf gave me have disappeared," Aurelia was good at making stuff up and it was fun to keep the boy guessing.

"You ask to many questions, boy. I may have to even obliverate you, however, thats not what I'm here for. I haven't lost something but I am finding something, something hidden within the four walls of this room that would be used as a dangerous weapon in the future." She spoke with her voice low and dark. She was doing quite well for this little skit that she had pulled out of no where. She looked down at her wrist, at a watch that she never had.

"Good bye John, don't believe what they say. Fumos," She told the boy with terror in her eyes and then waved her wand, saying the incantation. The area between them clouded in black smoke and as the air thickened, Aurelia ducked down behind one of the many sinks ensuring that she is well hidden from the boy. She couldn't stop the mischievous grin on her face. The smoke would clear soon and that mysterious girl from the future would be gone. Aurelia wondered what the boy's reaction would be like. It was one of her best pranks yet.

"Legman? Did she just say legman?" John was certain she was trying to change the subject now, had she succumb to defeat and started spouting nonsense? Well, hopefully not, that may draw John's exit a little closer than he'd like at the moment. If nothing else, things had become interesting.

"What ye- Were you testing ingredients? Or under the effect of some potion or spell?" This girl was truly ridiculous, but to be in this bathroom at this time of night? You'd have to-

"I suppose I can't finish that thought without also insulting myself..." Surprising, generally his inner dialogue insulted others with no issues... Perhaps she was getting to him more than he thought, or it could just be the situation... Time would tell!

"While I do agree you're pretty, I also think you're speaking nonsense." At this point, was it even worth trying to take the girl's fun away from her? John was certainly becoming increasingly irritated, post-nap crankiness likely being the culprit in this case... Before he could say anymore, the girl began ranting about some hidden and dangerous weapon - causing the gryffindor to stand in awe. At her creativity.

"Do you honestly expect me t-" She must have planned this whole thing out in her head... Suddenly, John was enshrouded in darkness. Being ignorant as he was, he merely believed that she'd stopped using lumos, and his eyes hadn't adjusted.

"Honestly, why do I try sometimes.." He mumbled, well, if she wanted to play around.. He'd play around. "I'll give you ten seconds to show yourself again, I know you couldn't have run far. If you don't magically reappear before me again? I'll start yelling, and we'll just have to bet on who runs faster, wont we?" John would give her several seconds to respond before he held true to his threat..

"10...."

Aurelia hid under the sink with a mischievous smile on her face. She rolled her eyes when he agreed on her being pretty. Sarcasm. However, her little act didn't seem to work as the boy was still not convinced that she was from the future. The he started shouting through the smoke about wanting to play some game. Something like tag. But he didn't state that spells weren't allowed so Aurelia clutched on to her wand tightly.

She ran through a list of harmless spells in her head. Stelus, the recently taught sneezing spell was a bit too harmless. Flipendo on the other hand was the total opposite and would knock back a person with a great force. However, rictusempra was an ideal one. It was a tickling spell and it would prove to be fun to use in this circumstance.

The boy started counting down from 10, however, the smoke would only clear in a minute so he would have trouble finding her. Aurelia didn't care about the entrance to the chamber of whatever secrets anymore, she couldn't run down a game of tag. Its been a long time since she ever played the game, especially not in a dark abandoned toilet. Aurelia couldn't use lumos anymore if she planned on using the Rictusempra charm so the game would have to be played in the dark.

"9..."

Apparently the girl had no intention of coming out, did she have any idea what would happen to them if they were found? It certainly wouldn't be pretty, but John was at least confident he could run faster than her if it came to that...

"8..."

Still nothing, aside from gentle movement in the directions of the sink. John's eyes began to adjust once more to the darkness - now able to see the cloud of smoke that had appeared around him. Apparently she had casted a spell earlier..

"7..."

She really wanted to get them both caught, didn't she? Or perhaps she was simply calling his bluff.. That was something John simple couldn't have, there had to be some way to scare her into coming out before he got to 1.

"6,5,4..."

Maybe counting faster would work? John waited a few moments after this attempt, hoping it would somehow frighten her finally - but alas- she was stuck in her spot.

"3,2..."

Fine, if she wanted to test him, she'd find herself getting burned..

"1!!"

John opened his mouth, taking a large breath in - preparing to yell - but just as he was about to let out the loudest noise he thinks he ever has, he gave up... Clearly she wanted to get in trouble, or she'd already left. His own thoughts had already tuned out any noise she could've been making, so perhaps it was just time to head back to the common room? As John headed back toward the exit, however, he saw a rather excited looking girl hiding beneath the sink in the corner of his eye. Was it worth trying to interact with her? Had he scared her into hiding? It was only right...

"Really? I didn't think I scared you that bad..." John said, attempting to approach and crouch down beside her..

She listened to the boy as he counted down. If he were to start yelling, she would turn around and cast rictusmpra on him, but that might make it worse. He might draw even more attention by laughing. Aurelia mentally crossed out the spell on her short list. It would be either stelus or Flipendo. If he was a loud sneezer, then Stelus wasn't a good idea. Flipendo was a spell she always tried not to use, it could backfire very easily and she might not have time to react if a professor were to pass. Damn it, it wasn't just a friendly game of tag.

The eleven year old wasn't going to reveal herself. She was a daring Gryffindor and it wasn't like her to give up so easily. However, she thought that the boy's threat was strange. Who would want to risk themselves caught by professors? Aurelia could barely even see her own hands in front of her in the dark corridors and she would most likely hit a wall if she ran without the marauders map leading her. The boy didn't seem to have a copy of the marauders map and the light from lumos would just draw to much attention. It either that the boy was stupid or that he was just bluffing. Aurelia decided to think the following as she waited for him to could down till the last number. She would wait and see.

As the last number was called, Aurelia put her both hands on her two ears. A moment passed and nothing happened. A smirk formed across Aurelia's lips. He didn't do it. She just had to wait until he was alone before she was able to have the abandoned bathroom all by herself. She wouldn't like to share the knowledge about the chamber of secrets if she ever found it. She waited.

Then a soft voice spoke.
Really? I didn't think I scared you that bad...
Aurelia turned around and yelped, jumping slightly when she saw a figure so close to her. John was crouched down beside her and his face was plastered with a concerned expression.

"Well, you didn't.. I mean, you only just did. But I wasn't afraid of your threats, you aren't fast enough and I've got this," She mocked waving the marauders map in his face.

"I knew you couldn't do it! Aren't you pretty soft for a Gryffindor? Weren't you threatening me a minute ago?" She asked, raising an eyebrow with a sly expression.

John snickered when the girl yelped, and stared in disbelief as she desperately tried to explain how unafraid she was.

"I don't really care what you've got, people who aren't scared generally don't hide under sinks. Now do they?" The two seemed to be butting heads left and right, yet none of it seemed to be out of malice. It really just made the situation all the more confusing - was this teasing? Harassment? Being an eleven year old, it truly was difficult to tell the difference. John couldn't help but laugh at what the girl said next.

"Well aren't you a bit easily-frightened for a Gryffindor? Let's not get too ahead of ourselves." Who would win this verbal battle? Honestly John didn't care, he still just wanted to go back to his dorm and sleep.

"Now ignoring your assumption that I'm slower than you, what's the real reason that you're in here? Two students in an 'abandoned' toilet seems rather excessive" The boy decided it was time to properly observe where he'd been sleeping for the past several hours. Really it might have been a miracle that he went undisturbed for so long, you'd think he'd be missed at some kind of headcount.

"And what's that paper anyways? Some kind of lucky charm? I really don't see how it would make you unafraid otherwise."
