Mateo had always had what he'd described as a... complicated relationship with flying. He'd loved it as a child, all the way up until his accident. Since, he'd never really been as comfortable with flying, and he'd say for good reason.

But this was no reason to be impolite, and when the new Professor of Flying had sent an owl requesting some books, there was no reason Mateo should avoid him just because of a somewhat rational concern about his subject. So, he headed through the confusing corridors of the Hogwarts castle to make his way to the Professor of Flying's office.

With a gentle knock on the door, books cradled in the other arm, he waited to be let in before offering a smile as he pushed the door open with his foot.

"Special delivery," he chimed. "Where would you like these lovely things? I hope you'll find them useful."

Being surrounded by so many flying things brought back a lot of memories to Mateo, and he found himself getting a little distracted and lost in thought as he found his brain being flung into his broom-racing days as a student. Shaking his head to get rid of those thoughts and concentrate on the Professor, he figured he might as well get to know the guy.

"So, how are you finding things so far? I suspect it's pretty different from professional quidditch, though I can't say I would particularly know much in regards to that area."
Permission to bring books for the Professor granted.

Felix was deep in thought, pondering a recent reading he had finished on broom handle thickness, when the knock at the door abruptly dragged him back to reality. Standing up from their armchair, they quickly made their way over to their office door, opening it to one of the most handsome young men he’d ever seen. “Ah, Mister Sáez!” he exclaimed, smiling warmly at the Hogwarts Librarian. “I didn’t realize the library made house calls— I feel honored. Come in, come in. Would a cuppa be alright with you?”

Felix gestured to his ring-shaped desk, where a Nimbus 2001 was currently sitting with its handle detached from the tail, along with several scattered tools and bits of lumber. “I think the desk would be a bad place for these fellas at the moment, as you can see… I think I have some space on my bookshelves for them. If you’re not in any rush, please have a seat. Feel free to pour yourself a cuppa from that pot there. I don’t do sugar myself, not at my age, but I think I may have a pot of rock sugar if you need it.” Felix gestured to the cushioned wood chair across from his own armchair, the floating lanterns casting a warm glow across the entire office. “May I?” they added, reaching out for the books Mateo carried.

Mateo’s questions were not uncommon ones, as many curious children had asked about Felix’s past in professional Quidditch during class. “Well,” they said slowly, placing their new books on an empty section of their bookshelves. “It’s odd to be referred to as a professor. Even when I coached, it was usually ‘Lucky’, or just Felix if they didn’t know me well. And it’s certainly much slower-paced than practice every day and matches every week, although those first years get my heart rate up with their antics. But it’s good to be back at Hogwarts. That part… that’s been good.”

Returning to their armchair, Felix topped off their cup from the teapot before taking a slow sip. His gaze settled on Mateo, openly observing his demeanor and manner. “If I may inquire, Mister Sáez, how did you find yourself here as Librarian? I remember, from when I was a student here, the Librarian was… well, far older than you, to be frank. I’d imagine that a lad like you would be off slaying dragons and whatnot.”

Greeted with a warm smile, Mateo returned it.

"It is no trouble at all, in fact I was keen to meet you. And a 'cuppa' would be appreciated, if it isn't too much trouble. Oh, and you may."

He would hand the books to the professor, still smiling, before taking the seat he had been assigned. He had yet to understand the British fondness for tea (preferring coffee himself), but he was willing to adjust, so he followed the elder's example, pouring himself a small cup and lacing it with a small spoon of sugar.

Mateo would smile and tilt his head at the man's stories. He enjoyed hearing about others' experiences in their lives, especially those with as exciting experiences as the Professor's. "Well, I am sure Hogwarts is more than happy to welcome you back."

"Well, I have spent my fair amount of time exploring the ends of the Earth in the last few years," he would chuckle. "But far from slaying dragons, I must admit. I taught in smaller villages, to the younger children, a basic education of reading and writing. But, alas, I could not maintain that lifestyle when my mother fell ill. When I visited my family, I realised quite how dependent I had been on their wealth to support me on my travels. So I went and found myself a job. Without many qualifications, it wasn't the easiest, I can't lie, but I am grateful and happy with the position I have found myself in."

He took a short break, reaching for his tea. "But, that is enough on me. Far too much, if anything. So, may I ask about yourself? How did you come to find the... joy that is flying?"
