It was dreadful day out. The clouds released buckets of torrential rain onto the gothic castle grounds. The wind blew viciously against the weather down gothic walls. Even though the weather outside of dreadful many living creature outside seemed to be hiding or residing inside their homes or burrows. The inside of the castle seemed to be bustling full of young and older students. The last of classes had finished for the day. The smell of the fire places wafted through the castle halls. Along with the chatter from students who seemed to make their way back to their dorms or next locations.

As the bustle of the castle was lively. The library seemed peaceful. The sounds of the books magically flying back into place fluttered by. The fresh smell of old and new ink smell wafted through the air. The lower level of the library seemed almost empty besides a few students sitting around the tables working on their assignments. Up on the second level of the library a fiery red haired girl seemed to be looking among the books. Her seafoam blue eyes scanned the spines of the books reading them with interest. In her arms resided two books one seemed to have something about Potions on the spine and the second one seemed to be about a Wizarding War.

As the young fiery red haired girl continued to read the spines of the books she reached ahold of another book that read something about Potions and something else. The fiery red haired girl enjoyed reading about History and learning new things about Potions. Turning around the young girl noticed a lone table by itself residing next to a large panel window. Walking happily over with the books in her arms the young girl placed the books down neatly on top of the nice oaken wood table, pulling the chair out a bit Alana removed her teal covered ruck sack off of her left shoulder. Placing it by her right leg the young girl seemed to hum to herself looking at the three books that rested in front of her.

Alana grabbed ahold of the book that told the history about the Second Wizarding war. The fiery red haired girl opened the book up taking in the sweet smell of the slightly weather book. The book looked fairly new, but one who reads often could tell that it was slightly older. The pages were slightly rough on the edges. The ink on the pages were slightly faded, but still eligible to read. Alana's slightly delicate sun kissed hands touched the pages gently as she read her sea-foam teal eyes entranced on the words in front of her.

Alana began to zone out in the book that she was to enticed in. The howling wind pushed against the window violently shaking it slightly though. Alana knew the castle was safe even with such a destructive weather outside. The rain slamming harshly against the clear pane windows leaving trails of tear like patterns against the smooth glass. Though it was only four thirty in the afternoon. Outside the sky was a dark grey looked almost night out. The trees were dancing in the ferocious wind as if they had practice this number many times.

Still lost in the book that she was reading the fiery red haired girl blinked slightly, before looking around for a bit. Alana would admit she could very well get lost while reading after all it was one of her favorite past times. One who knew the fiery red haired girl knew she was never seen without a book and if she were it was most like because she was with Ying or one of her other friends that she has made at Hogwarts. The first year girl stared up at the ceiling for a second watching some of the enchanted books flutter on by. Her sea-foam teal eyes took in the sight after all Alana never really seen books fly though how useful it seems for the books to place themselves back to where they belong instead of someone doing it themselves.

Alana continued to examine her surroundings, being on the second floor she could see the other students down stairs relaxing though many people rarely came onto the second floor besides to get away from the hustle and bustle that was on the lower level. Alana's sea-foam teal eyes noted the spiral staircase that was on her right hand side. Their was also another staircase on the other side of the second floor. Rows and rows of book shelves lined the floor along with a few comfy sofas and sofa like chairs near the fire places that seemed to be scattered around on the upper level.

Alana turned her sea-foam teal gaze back outside of the rather large pane window. The young first year girl seemed intrigued watching the patterns of the torrential downpour slamming against the pain windows. The young sea-foam teal eyed girl started to watch the tear like raindrop lets slam against the smooth glass window. The fiery red haired girl stared intently at the droplets scanning the darken sky sighing slightly to herself she turned her attention back to her surroundings.

The dreadful outside seemed to make the young girl feel a bit in the dumps though people tend to say the weather reflects a mood. The fiery red haired girl decided to close the book that she was reading about the Second Wizarding war and opened up a book about Healing Potions and why they are useful for Wizards and Witches. The fiery red haired girl leaned backwards in the auburn oak wooden chair. Alana pulled her knees up to her chest resting the ball of her heels on the edge of the chair. Her fiery red hair rested gently on her small lanky shoulders. Her sea-foam blueish green eyes started to scan the books she began to read.

The young eleven year old girl seemed to get lost in her book once again. The world around her seemed to be nothing at that moment. Though the gentle sounds of the books fluttering on by seemed to help Alana stay in her trance and the feel of the rough paper edges against her smooth frail lanky fingers relaxed the girl. Changing her mood just slightly. Even the peaceful thumping of the rain pounding against the window was becoming soothing to the young girl. The well lit library sent a nice eminence of peace and serenity to the young girl. Nothing at that moment seemed to really matter to her. Besides what she was reading. Though it may seem like Alana was lost in a little trance she was still full aware of her surroundings. She was just at peace with all of the sounds and smells wafting around her. For some reason the smell of fresh ink and old ink seemed to help the young girl stay at peace. It was like a sweet little comfort for her.

A miserable Thursday afternoon. That's what it was. Reuben was glad to be back inside after receiving a fierce beating from mother nature. It was truly foul out there. The rain caught him just as he started walking back from his flying class. For once he decided to stay after class and have some early practice ahead of next year's Quidditch tryouts. Alas, he was now drenched from head to toe. Today couldn't get any worseโ€” or so he huffed under his breath through his entire trek to the library. There was no choice, he had a lot of homework to catch up onโ€” another blow to his morale.

Reuben ploddingly made his way to the second floor hoping for some peace and quiet. Dragging his feet up the stairs, his sopping fringe clung to his face like a leech much to his exasperation. The soothing hum of the library hushed around; gentle footsteps, the folding of parchment and textbooksโ€” Reuben felt at home if nothing else. It was a small semblance of comfort in a sea of unpleasantness.

The boy came to a halt at the top of the stairs, his bright sapphire eyes scanning the room for the perfect place to sit when he noticed a familiar red-haired silhouette. It was none other than his sweet friend Alana! A tiny smile bent the corner of his mouth, it was a comforting sight to see one of his friends after such a miserable day. Without hesitation, he turned and softly walked over to Alana, taking a seat beside her placing his bag on the floor. The girl seemed to be deeply invested in whatever book she was reading, "Good book?" he turned to her. A sheepish smile crept onto his face knowing full well he looked like an absolute mess.

Upon hearing a voice disturb the peace Alana was in as she was reading the young fiery red haired girl glanced upwards noting that Reuben seemed to be right across from her. Alana's gaze widen a bit in concern noting the young Gryffindors appearance. His hair was sopping wet and the young boy had a puddle of water at his feet. The young fiery red haired girl gently closed her book and sat it down on the table her sea-foam blue eyes gazing at Reuben.

"Are you okay Reuben? Must have taken a trip outside?"

Alana spoke softly though her words may have seemed a bit blunt. The young girl's attention went towards the window where the wind was howling like a wolf the rain pelting the glass pane windows harshly. The young fiery red haired girl stared at Reuben in concern the young boy could catch a cold if he stayed in sobbing wet robes, but unfortunately the young girl would be no help to him after all what could she do. Her robe would not fit him and end up being sopping wet at the end of everything.

Alana gestured to the seat in front of her smiling gently at Reuben her sea-foam teal eyes sparkled with kindness. Her freckled splattered face seemed to be vibrant in the libraries ambience of light. The young Gryffindor girl continued to smile gently at the boy in front of her.

"Take a seat Reuben may want to get a bit comfy it is better inside hear then it is outside do you not agree?"

The young fiery red haired girl spoke softly a smile embedded on her soft sun-kissed tone face. Alana's tone was soft and sweet as honey she continued to just smile at the young boy feeling it was the best thing she could offer at the moment.
