Dear Mother,
How is everything back home? Hogwarts is going well so far. I have made a few friends and I think you would like them. I was sorted into Ravenclaw, though I am going to assume you already know that. I haven’t seen much of Adeline but I have to guess it is because of both her year and house that keeps her away from me. I miss you and father and I look forward to returning to see you again. I have been keeping up with my studies and have gotten mostly good grades here at Hogwarts. How are the cats? Do they miss me? Give them my love. I know you told me to write and I’m sorry I haven’t kept up with my side of the deal. I have been very busy trying to keep up with school work and everything but now I am ahead of schedule and have found the time to write to you. I miss you and father so much.

Dear Valarie,
It is wonderful to hear from you. I can’t same the same for your sister, however. You father is busy with his work as usual but he gives you his best. We were excited to hear of the news of you being sorted into Ravenclaw. We are proud that you brought another house to our family. The cats do miss you but they are adjusting remarkably well. Just a few days ago, Dublin rushed into your room yowling and hissing for close to fifteen minutes before he jumped up on your pillow and fell asleep. Everything back home is about the same as it can be but… I have some very important news to share with you. I assume you remember my dear friend Camille from my days at Hogwarts? Well I received a letter telling me that she has fallen very ill and you remember her muggle husband, James, died a few years ago. Her daughter, Haley, is coming to our home for us to look after her until her mother recovers. Haley is seven and has yet to have experienced magic yet but we don’t know if it is coming or not.

It is wonderful to hear from you again! That is a funny story with Dublin; he always has been a bit of a trouble maker. Of course I remember your friend! Camille has always been very nice. I remember visiting after her husband’s death. I also remember meet Haley. She was very quiet and didn’t speak much so I don’t know very much about her but I am excited to meet her when I come back home for the summer. Please keep writing to me with news about home and let me know how Haley is adjusting to our home. She is from London, right? Sorry this letter is shorter than the others but the next will definitely have more news. Oh! Before I close up I forgot to tell you that I am going to the Spring Ball! I will write you more about it after it’s done.

She likes muggle books like you do and I have a suspicion that you two will get along well. She is indeed from London. It is exciting to hear about your participation in the ball. Your father tensed yo the moment I shared that tiny detail with him. Are you going with anyone? If you are, is this person a friend or maybe more than a friend? I cannot wait to share your father’s reaction with you about that detail. We all miss you greatly. I will be sending you a dress to wear to the ball shortly.
