pet What A Cunning Match

Kath had always been recommended to get a pet, The idea had been on her mind for a while. But she was too busy to actually check it out. Maybe a part of her wasn’t interested in some fluffy boring animal that would create a huge mess and become a pain in the ass. She had decided to give the Magical Menagerie a quick visit.

With almost zero expectations of what she would find. She entered to find some old happy couple running the shop. Ugh, Kath wanted to barf that itself was cringe, some boring old couple running a pet shop instead of hanging out with their grandkids. What was the grandma doing here instead of baking some cookies for the children?

Kath didn’t doubt that the old lady has some cookies that she serves children, quite creepy if you thought about it. You never know what goes in those cookies. Kath walked around looking at the variety of pets in front of her. She looked at the cats, those messy furry creatures, she looked closely at each one. The black one wasn’t too bad but it’s hairy.

She looked at the hamsters, really who would buy a hamster she thought to herself. Those creatures are practically useless they do nothing at all. They can’t even protect you. She turned to look at the owls, and all that came to her head was boring. Only basic people would get them, they’re only good at delivering letters.

She gave off a yawn and then looked at another section. The toads are also useless creatures like the hamsters except that they don’t have any fur and both animals are easy to lose. She questioned some people’s tastes. Who would voluntarily choose such animals? Such a waste of galleons.

The next section was the mice which she didn’t even bother stopping by, and afterwards the reptiles. Those weren’t too bad but not Kath’s style. Then spiders, they also weren’t too bad but something instantly caught the griffindors eyes. Something worth her while, it was a beautiful emerald gazer.

A snake, now that’s something worth getting she thought. There were a bunch in a cage, if Kath knew anything about being a parsel mouth is that each snake has a personality of theirs. They were the ones that picked the parsel mouth not the other way round. Kath looked at the cage. They all didn’t look at her, they were too uninterested in this whole situation.

Although one caught Kath’s eye, One had turned around and observed her just the same way Kath observes any new person.” hello there, I am Katherine”, She gave off a simple smirk and placed two fingers in front of the snake. She was waiting to see how the snake would respond.

The snake then Hissed at Kath, but the Gryffindor didn’t flinch nor back off. Surprising the snake, from the looks of it. Since then it had observed Kath and gotten closer to both her fingers, “I expected you to back off but it seemed you’re quite bold”, it spoke back to Kath. Katherine had given it a devilish smirk and slightly petted her head.

” So do you have a name”, the snake replied with a shake of their small head. Kath had stopped to think and then came up with a name” How about Nyx? It fits you perfectly”, Which the snake replied with an approving nod. Katherine was amused at Nyx’s response.

There was something about Nyx that Kath enjoyed, it felt as if Nyx was similar to her in a way. Which lured Kath to her. Suddenly Nyx had wrapped herself around Kath’s arm. The Gryffindor had lifted her slowly now the snake was looking at kath” How do u feel about coming home with me Nyx?”, the snake had spoken back “I'd be glad to Katherine”, Kath had a devilish smirk on.

She had taken Nyx back to the boring old couple” I’ll have her only please”, It seems like Kath didn’t leave empty-handed after all but instead gained herself a partner and a part of Kath knew that she’d enjoy her company.
