Fang Hui-Ying almost couldn't contain the enthusiasm and happiness that was tickling inside of her in that morning. She had dreamed so many times with that moment, the moment she would be following her brother's steps towards the magical castle and into the world of magic. It was as if she had finally made it, she was one of her favorite characters inside one of her favorite adventure's books. Except that all of that was real, it was she, a young and lucky child that was dragging her new white leather trunk towards one of the magical train's compartment. A wide and sincere smile was now spread across her face while she in cheerful and confident steps was walking through the crowded and tight corridor in search for a place for her to sit and enjoy the riding to Hogwarts.

She had to pretend she was almost emotionless when she had arrived to the platform with her parents and older brother. She always adopted that stance in front of her family. She knew her parents position regardless to magic, in their perceptive that was a waste of their children's precious time, there was so much more important things to learn then study how to play illusion tricks with magical sticks. Ying although, had been luckier then her brother, it didn't take as much effort to convince them to let her go to Hogwarts as it did Ming's turn. her brother had done all the most difficult job of persuasion the year prior, when it had been his turn to head to the old castle for the first time. Ying just had to follow his steps and made vigorous and unbreakable promises that she would do everything as told, she would never disregard her muggle studies, she would be the perfect example of a determined, perfectionist and ambitious child. Obviously that wouldn't necessary mean that she wouldn't find her ways to enjoy the most of it and have the maximum of fun and playful moments!

When she finally saw an empty compartment, Ying decided to enter. She placed her trunk in its rightful place and sat in the spot next to the widow, she wanted to enjoy and be able to see the places they would be heading and passing through. She waved at her mom and dad with a kind smile, even though her time with them had been scarce all her life, especially with her mom, she would miss them deep down and wish they had at least time to respond to her owls.

As the train started to depart, Alana walked carefully down the train corridors dragging her amber brown trunk behind her. Alana struggled slightly after all she was fairly short and her case almost was as big and weighed as much as her or even more. Scanning the train carts that were full with happy children older and younger Alana kept trudging a lot when she noticed a train cart with only one young girl in it. The girl looked like she could possibly be a first year as well. A huge grin broke out on Alana's freckled splatter face. Opening the cart door Alana stuck her head in her grinning growing much more as her excitement grew even more.

"Hello?! Do you mind if I sit here? A lot of the other carts are full and this trunk is way to heavy. Suppose that's my fault though ended up putting a bit to many books in it. But you know I may need some extra books especially after I finish reading all of my textbooks for the year. Is it your first year as well? It's my first year though not sure what house I will be in but I am excited to find out for sure it'll be exciting don't you think?"

After Alana finished rambling for a second she blinked slowly realizing what she had done. Smiling sheepishly Alana used her free hand to rub the back of her in embarrassment her freckled face growing slightly red from embarrassment. Taking in a slow breath to calm her excitement Alana held out her hand in a greeting manner still wearing her sheepish smile.

"I apologize about that I tend to ramble a lot when I get excited. My name is Alana. Alana Dibble! Who are you?"

Alana tilted her head slightly in curiosity. The red haired girl was excited to make some friends but she was also curious about the girl in front of her she seemed nice but very well up kept. Similar to maybe a pureblood witch or someone with a high ranking demeanor. Even though Alana could tell that this girl seemed very kind just by staring at her. That or Alana is just has poor judgement.

It didn't took to long until someone else appeared at the compartment that Ying had chose to quietly sit in. She was still looking at the platform where her parents were waiting for the train to start it's journey towards Hogwarts, when she heard the compartment's door slide and a red-haired girl carrying an amber brown trunk behind her. For the girl's stature, Ying concluded that she would also be a first year, a kind smile of pure happiness came into Ying's lips when she started to hear the lively girl speaking to her, she had a sweet voice in her opinion and her cheerful way to speak brought a warmth to Ying's heart. She was almost sure she had found a good friend, or at least she hoped so!

"Hey! Nice to meet you Alana, my name is Fang Hui-Ying!" Ying replied to the other girl, she was as much excited as her but she had always been told to control her emotions, so her greeting came in a more controlled tone of voice, although it had been in a polite and a kind way. "Of course you can sit!" She answered gesturing towards the bench across from her, "Have you read all the textbooks? That's impressive! I couldn't resist myself to do the same to be honest! What's your favorite subject?" Ying asked curiously, "And yes, it is my first year too!" the dark-haired girl confirmed with a soft nod, "I don't know to which house I'll be selected...Although I would be very pleased to join my brother at Slytherin." She admitted to the other girl, "And you? Do you have any preference?" She finished asking with a small but friendly smile.

Alana grinned happily dragging her amber trunk into the compartment the young girl wasn't going to try and put it above her head on the top trunk shelf instead Alana shoved it under the bench. Plopping down in front of Ying. The young red haired girl hummed in a thoughtful manor. Alana was definitely excited for all of her classes, but she wasn't really sure which class she was excited the most for. She took a thoughtful second before grinning excitedly at Ying.

"Potions for sure! Potions could be very useful even outside of Hogwarts. Something bloody brilliant could do basically anything with potions even put a stopper to death with just the right potion. Or even cure poison. Its bloody brilliant!

The young red haired spoke strongly about potions she quite enjoyed the thought of learning that subject after all brewing potions seemed exciting dangerous at the same time as well. Even though the girl was clumsy she enjoyed to love the thought of that unknown danger that came with potion making. Alana glanced at Ying grinning even more puffing out her chest sightly.

"Slytherin is a decent house. Though I would most likely never be in it. I have no traits to be in Slytherin honestly! My Mother was a Ravenclaw first of her family to be in a different house then Slytherin, but that's a rather sore subject for her. My father was in Gryffindor most of his family are muggle-born so they didn't attend. I believe some of his family did. Not quite sure. My older brother graduated from Ravenclaw. My family says with my personality I would most likely be in Gryffindor or maybe Hufflepuff. I could also be in Ravenclaw. I can be smart at times always yearning to learn more. But Gryffindor is most likely going to be house. I do quite brave maybe a bit stupid things."

Alana let out a soft chuckle. Staring at Ying taking in her appearance. Alana could tell that Ying seemed to keep her appearance nice and definitely seemed to have an air of someone from a high status family. But Alana knew better then to press or ask questions about ones family status. Alana's mother always told her how rude it is to ask questions. Especially sense some families like her Mothers family can be very judgemental and all about blood status. Alana blinked before grinning happily at Ying just excited to make a new friend.

Ying saw as Alana sat comfortably at the bench across from her. The real seemed to carry joy and happiness in all her steps and words. She felt immediately curious about the red-haired girl, it was amazing the positive and so fresh energy that the young girl radiated, it was contagious and heartwarming.

"You like potions?" Ying said letting escape a little more of enthusiasm that she was trying to contain, "I agree with all of that!" She continued smiling at her new friend, "I feel real curious about healing magic! I've read that potions are really important for someone that wants to follow a career as a healer!" Ying said, "But I've heard is not the easiest of subjects..." She stated feeling a little anxious because of what she was about to admit. Her brother had told her about bloodpurist and their ideals about witches and wizards that came from muggle families...what if Alana came from one of those families? Anyway...she will find out eventually. Ying thought sighing slightly before continue to speak, "I'm a maggleborn witch," She said with confidence not showing up the little butterfly feeling that was playing with her nerves, "So I don't know much beside what my brother told me and what I had the opportunity to read...so everything is a little new to me!" She said with a small but sweet smile. She just hopped she hadn't said anything that would ruin what she was starting to feel as a good and fun friendship.

Ying heard patiently as Alana was talking about the different Hogwarts' houses. She lifted slightly her eyebrows in a inquiring expression when the other said that she thought not likely to end up in Slytherin...to be fair if compared to Ming, Ying could admit that they were black and white, complete opposites. One was so serious and the other so...loud and childish! Those were the words that her brother probably would use to describe the cheerful red-haired girl, Ying however was really liking and enjoying everything about Alana. The girl had the magical ability to bring color to the greys of days. "I really have no idea what my house will be..." Ying admitted with a small chuckle, "In Slytherin I would be with Ming...but I recognize how different we are..." The girl thought for a while before continue, "Ravenclaw seems nice tho...I like to learn!" She stated looking at the girl nodding amusingly. "It's really nice to be meeting you Alana!" She finished kindly saying. And there was a whistle outside, the train was finally going to start and a new adventure was about to begin.

Alana smiled at Ying noting the whislte that was blaring outdoors. Standing up Alana turned to Ying with a wide grin. Alana understood being a muggleborn the first year is always nerve racking. She remembered the stories her father told her about his years at Hogwarts. Her mother also told her how some witches and wizards weren't very fond of Muggle-borns either. Alana felt an urge to help her found friend feel comfortable and safe with her that was her main goal. Alana stared Ying the eyes showing off her trademark grin.

"I'm a half-blood Mums a witch and Dads a Muggle-born. Besides whatever house were in.."

Alana paused for a moment staring thoughtfully up at the ceiling for a second before staring Ying in her eyes showing her a warm caring smile. One a mother would show a nervous or anxious little child who was scared of something new for the first time.

"We will have each other Ying. After all that is what friends are for right? No matter what house were in. Were in this together Ying!"

Alana spoke cheerfully and surprisingly mature for her after all one would say Alana isn't the most mature eleven year old she's beyond ditzy, extremely clumsy, but over all the most important thing about Alana is she's beyond caring and loving to everyone she meets. One would say this would be a start of a new friendship between the two girls and who knows maybe some trouble along the road. But for now Alana knew one thing for sure. She made a new friend that she would do anything to protect and cherish this moment for the rest of her days. Alana turned back to Ying smiling even more.

"Well let's go Ying! Don't ya wanna get sorted! I am beyond excited the year is just beginning and so is our new adventures to come!"

Alana spoke ecstatically waiting for Ying to follow her off the train her smile prominent on her face not fading away for a second.
