 CL  Meeting Kinsey
I looked over to the door a few feet away from me to see a girl. She was taller than me, and had brown hair. There was a large smile on her face. I couldn’t say no to her asking to sit with me, but I had just let my family go, along with my best friend. I looked down at the letter I was writing to Steve. The crisp, beige paper with black ink in my handwriting on it.

Steve,
I hope everything at home is well. Tell mom and dad that I miss them. The landscape is all beautiful, and Hogwarts Express has just left the station not to long ago. Also, tell your owl, River, hello for me.

The first year girl was still standing in the doorframe. The way she stood there had reminded me so much of Steve, her shoulder leaning on the frame. “Is it alright if I sit with you? My siblings are sitting with their friends,” the blue eyed girl said.
I smiled and looked up at her. “I’m so sorry,” I said with a small laugh, a few seconds after she had asked. “Of course! Come on in!” I waved my arm with a smile on my face.
She came in and sat down right across from me. “My name is Dakota Rain. I’m so sorry for making you wait! I can’t keep my mind off of my family. Especially my older brother, Steve. He’s my best friend, and my only one for that matter.” I said to her, my voice slightly shaking.
“Whats your name?” I quickly asked her, finally letting her say something.

 CL  Meeting Kinsey
The girl was welcoming but seemed very nervous. She introduced herself as Dakota Rain. I always loved the name Dakota. She seemed like she was definitely a first year. She’s a lot shorter than me but to be fair I’m pretty tall for my age. She was clutching a white daisy. What a coincidence. That was my favorite flower. It looked like she had just written a letter. Maybe to her family who she was talking about. I guess she misses them, which is understandable. I sat down next to her and listened to her talk about her brother. “He’s my best friend, and my only one for that matter.” She said. It was a terrible feeling but that made me kind of happy. At home I had lots of friends but then I moved for my dads new job as an accountant and I haven’t made friends since. Maybe she could be my new friend. She looked sort of sad, I decided to say something “Nice to meet you! I’m Kinsey Jones.” I replied as I put my trunk by me on my seat. I reached into it and found my stash of candy. “Chocolate frog?” I asked her.
