 Closed  Saying Goodbye
Dakota made her way through the train station with her mother and father on either side of her. Her older brother, Steve, was talking to her father about his first year at Hogwarts, and what she would expect. Steve had intended for her to listen to him, but Dakota was focusing on something else. She had noticed that nobody around her had anything on the packing list for Hogwarts. When she turned around, she had noticed her parents had stopped. Not to far away, only about four or five feet. Dakota hustled back to them. “Are you ready?” Her mother asked.
They were stopped between platform nine and ten. Her father had explained to Dakota what she needed to do.
“I love you,” both of her parents said, as they embraced her in a hug.
Steve helped Dakota push her luggage through the wall, entering platform 9 3/4. Just then, Dakota saw first years, like her. She immediately felt at home. “Wow,” Dakota mumbled under her breath.
“It’s a lot to take in,” Steve said to her. “Just wait until you get onto school grounds.”
Dakota sighed. It was a lot to take in. Just then, it hit her. She wasn’t going to be able to see her older brother, her best friend, for a whole year. “I’ll write to you as much as I can, Steve. I promise.”
A small, yet sad grin appeared on his face. Dakota has never seen him like this before. Steve’s eyes became glossy as he looked down at his sister. He was basically towering her. “You better,” he replied with a very shaky voice.
Steve had pulled Dakota into his arms before she could even say something back. Their hug lasted a good few minutes. “Make some good friends, and stay with them,” said Steve. “I’ll want to hear all about them.”
“Bye, Steve,” Dakota said. Their parents had probably been waiting for about ten minutes. “Bye, Dakota,” he said, finally ending the moment between the two.
She shuffled her way onto Hogwarts Express, finding a good seat. Empty, but she could see Steve out of the window. As the train started to move, the shouting became louder. When Dakota looked back at Steve, she had noticed some tears falling from his sky blue eyes. She waved to him until what used to be Steve, was just a small dot in the corner of her eye.

I was so excited I was almost shaking with excitement. We were approaching the platform. Platform 9 3/4, Wow! I have heard so much about it. Practically my whole life. “Kinsey, are you ready?” Mom had tears in her eyes as she asked me. “Of course mom!” I responded. “I’ve been waiting for this moment my entire life!” I had heard so much about Hogwarts from my brother and sister. (Walter and Genevive) Genevive is only one year older than me so her and I are really close. It was hard being apart from her last year. “This is going to be so much fun!” Genevive stated. I nodded my head with a huge grin on my face. My siblings gripped onto their carts and ran through the pillar. Now my turn. I wasn’t nervous at all. I had seen my sister and brother do this before. Easy Peasy. Then I realized I might be slightly nervous. I looked at my mom and she smiled. Alright I can do this. I ran through and saw my siblings waiting for me. The long train was ready to go. We had to say our goodbyes fast. My sister hugged my mother and so did my brother. I gave my mom a quick side hug. “Love you mom!” But before she could respond I was already on my way to the train. I walked down the train and saw a girl looking out the window. She looked like a first year. Maybe she will be my first friend at Hogwarts. I walked in, “Hello! Is it alright if I sit with you? My siblings are sitting with their friends.”
