Interacting with @Cassie Jiang

Duvessa smoothly tucked her hair in and stared at the clouds in the stormy sky. Mrs Ember, her dear mother, had always urged them to go inside on those days. It was cold, freezing and everyone was usually inside, huddling around their fires, toasting marshmellows. Not the Embers.

All dark haired, pale cheeked and with a set of determined, fiery eyes, Duvessa did not stand out of them much. Then there was the Idoness Family, her cousins too. All were flouncy, fluffy haired and destined to mostly be in Ravenclaw - no one in this family had ever broke that tradition. So Duvessa was trying not to think of what would happen if someone did break it.....

She heard shuffling in the distance. Who could it be? A muggle? Oh no, oh no. Her father had warned her to be cautious of it - for his own reasons. And Dagger had supported him, nodding her dainty head.
"Than!" The 11 year old called out, as someone came behind her, taking looming steps. It seemed that the forest had turned cold, but Duvessa knew those footsteps remarkably well. She sighed in relief.
"Than - I swear I heard something there." She whispered, as the brutal face of her cousin was inches away from her.
"Don't use...it, PrincESSe." He said frostily, giving her a reasuring nod.

To some people, it would have been eerie to see him...in fact....it was the fact that she was his cousin that stopped Duvessa worrying.

Cassie is having a trip with parents--her family is quite rich, so they can afford a trip almost every winter&summer vacation. This time, it's a trip right where they live--the city of London. They arrives at a place with large areas of grass because Cassie wants to have some fun playing there.
She walks on the grass causing some noise. Then, she heard someone talking nearby. Could it be a muggle? Luckily, she wears casual clothes this time, so she won't be recognized. However, her parents are wearing robes and pointed hats.
'I'll go and see who's there.' she says to her parents and walks towards the sound.
Two young people are standing there. She looks closely. They are wearing casual clothes, maybe they're... wait! What's that in their hands? A wand! They must be wizards. But...what if they're just toys for muggles?
After thinking, Cassie has a nice idea. She takes out her wand. If they're real wizards, they will see her wand and ask if she is a witch. If not, this can be a toy like theirs. Cassie walks slowly with her wand in her right hand. 'Hi! Nice to meet you! Can we play together?' she moves her wand and waits...

Duvessa froze. Why on earth had she been that stupid to bring her wand out? She groaned silently but a hand on her shoulder made her feel comforted. Or, it would probably be the opposite to an outsider but the freezing touch was calming to Duvessa.
"Play it nice..." He hissed, a rough gleam in his eye that only he managed to convey. It felt safe being with Than, although his eerie presence and equally eerie remarks would send a chill down most people spines.
"What's up?" He said casually, in a deep voice and he even managed to fluff his hair and then wink at her. Duvessa put her head in her hands. Trust him to not be able to do this tactfully.
"I'm...." He began, faltering between telling the truth or lying, "Ber-"
"Than." Someone said behind as Than looked surlier than ever.
"Brose, you had to ruin it!" He said as he slouched off, leaving Duvessa with a girl with loose wavy hair, but it was obvious that she was in her late teens.
"Hi! I'm Ambrose, Essa's cousin. This is Duvessa, who is a little shy." She said as she put her hands on Duvessa's shoulder.

Finally, Duvessa peeked out.
"Is it...real?" She finally said, and by the look on her eyes, it was obvious that she was a witch. Obvious what she was asking.

Cassie smiles and says kindly, 'Hi, nice to meet you Ambrose and Duvessa.' Cassie gives her hand out for them to shake. 'Ah, I see you saw this,' she takes the wand tip in her hand and shows the wand to them in case they think she is challenging them to a duel. 'Duvessa, it's real.' after looking at their emotions, Cassie is sure they are witches. 'I am a witch. Yes, a witch just like you two. My name is Cassie Jiang. Well, my parents are still there, I'll have to tell them before more talking.' She says as she wants to turn around, but she thinks and decides to walk backwards instead, in case someone attacks her.
She walks to her parents and says, 'Dad, Mom! There are two witches just like me. I want to play with them. I'll meet you later here.' and she runs back to the two girls. 'Well, well. I can see we don't trust each other yet. What about showing some magic? Duvessa, never mind if you don't know any. I have previewed my text books so I know the wand-lighting charm. Perhaps Ambrose can show her magic with me? I say three two one and we say the charm together to show we are really witches.' she takes out her wand and points at a tree opposite of the two people. 'Three, two, one, Lumos.' the wand tip lights quietly.

Ambrose smiled at the eager young witch.
"Essa can do plenty of magic, can't you?" Ambrose chuckled as she remembered the scene a couple of days ago. "But not with a wand." Ambrose said, but obediantly whipped a chestnut wood wand out and twirled it in the air with flourish.

With the air of someone announcing Christmas, she pointed her wand in the same direction. Then, as Cassie began counting down, she concentrated. And on "Three-", when Cassie's wand lit up brightly (Duvessa gasped at it) Ambrose wished she could show her magic, but was obviously not allowed to do so, as a Ministry of Magic worker.
"Sorry, dear, security." She said and smiled.

Meanwhile, Duvessa looked at the wand and then her own. She waved it about foolishly, attempting to copy what Cassie had done. Needless to say, she failed and her forehead knitted together in concern showed that she was slightly put out. Ambrose just shook her head fondly at her, but was pretty interested what an ordinary witch was doing here. Living with Than and Dagger had taught her to be suspicious - was it Polyjuice Potion?

Cassie suddenly realized she has done something wrong. Yes, how can she forgot the policy by the Ministry of Magic? Under aged wizards can not perform magic outside school! 'I am so sorry, I forgot the underage wizard policy. Thank you so much Ambrose, I nearly got both of us in trouble. Well, let's talk about something else, then, how old are you Duvessa? I am going to Hogwarts this year, and I received this acceptance letter this February, on my birthday.' she put her hand into her right pocket and takes out a piece of parchment. Well, she has sensed they feel she is suspicious, she needs to prove she is not a dangerous witch.
'I am not using polyjuice potion, I just live in London, and my parents are there, if you need them to prove my identity. Do you live near here? Why are you here?' actually, Cassie is totally unsuspicious about the sisters, but she need to talk about something else. To prove that she is a safe witch, she puts her wand in her pocket.
She wishes her parents don't know she just nearly made a mistake... she doesn't want to get into trouble at all.

Ambrose smiled as Cassie apologized prefously for attempting to do magic.
"A Ravenclaw at heart?" She questioned, "And yes, Essa is going to Hogwarts this year...."
"I got my letter on the 21st March." Duvessa said proudly.
"The forest is quite safe here..." She chuckled, "And we live here. Do you see that huge manor over there? Yes, the peaks are pointing out. That's were me and my cousins live." Ambrose said it all and nodded to Cassie.
"I reckon I could introduce you, if you aren't....afraid." She said nervously, not wanting to put too much pressure on the young girl.
"What house are you aiming for, anyway?" Duvessa asked, studying the girl carefully. She seemed to be aware of her mistakes and thinks quite cleverly.....must be a Ravenclaw, or a Slytherin really but she doesn't seem the type. Heavens, she would know a Slytherin a mile off!

The forest went quiet, which was eerie and peaceful at the same time.
'Do you live here?" Duvessa also asked, quite fascinated by the arrival of a witch her age. She was used to people being older than her and much more proud or haughty on her. But that was just the way of nature; humans.

'Me?' Cassie answers, 'I want to go to Ravenclaw, the house of wit. I had my letter on February Second, my birthday. My parents are both from Ravenclaw. They have great academic scores. But I want to be better, to be precise, I want to have all Os in every homework during my seven years in Hogwarts.'

She pauses and says, 'I see, that's a nice house isn't it! My family lives in central London. Something more about myself. I am a part-goblin, and I can make metal objects, including money! I also want to join a sport in Hogwarts. Quidditch, perhaps. My mother was a great woman beater at Hogwarts. I wanna be a beater too! You?'

She smiles to the cousins, waiting for their reply. The girl looks like a Slytherin, Cassie doesn't know why, but she is quite sure that the girl will be a Slytherin. She looks like and acts like a Slytherin. Meanwhile, Cassie thinks she might, in the smallest chance, be a Slytherin. She always wants to win every competition. Who knows?

'Have you been to the Diagon Alley to buy your school products yet?' asks Cassie. She hasn't yet. But it will come soon.
