The Elusive Jackalope
A nice breeze was blowing through the cluster of trees Meris had opted to sit under. An ink pot sat clutched between two bare feet. An open sketchbook in her lap was covered in ink blots. Little blotting papers blew away the moment she let go of them to start drawing again. In fact there was beginning to be a hefty little pile building in one of the crevices at the bottom of one of the trees.
Meris finally pulled the quill from the pot with just the right amount of ink and nearly got it to the page before another gust of wind blew the ink all over the place. Now her feet had specs of black ink all over them. Her robes were already black so the ink was right at home there.
Frustrated with her apparent lack of progress Meris yelled "Argh!"
Muttering to herself she said, "I just want a pencil, or even a marker. A good marker never did anyone any harm."
However, as frustrated as she was, she was more than determined. Using her body and her robes to create a barrier against the wind Meris finally managed to get another quill full of ink and this time she managed to get it onto the paper and draw out the horns before another gust threw the book at the nearest tree.
Unfortunately, the wet ink smeared all over both pages. Meris stands up to go get her book and the pot of ink spills everywhere. her feet are covered in ink as well as the grass she was sitting on. The quill falls from her hand and tears begin to roll down her cheeks.
