RAVENCLAW vs SLYTHERIN - WINTER 2023
It was a nice, crisp early February morning and was the perfect day to test the Ravenclaw and Slytherin broom racers' skills when it came to flying in the cold and snow. These would be the first racers to head through the course for the day, so it was anyone guess on how hard the course was actually going to be.Date: February 11, 2023
Time: 9:00
Weather: Snow
The course was around the same length as the last one, being 25 units in total. The race would start out pretty normal, going through some thorns into a damp narrow passage before coming out through a waterfall and into the trees. After that is where the fun began where the wind blew through the continuously falling snow. By then, the early morning sun would be reflecting off of the snow so the students would be flying in almost blind when it came to the Cockatrice that had decided to take up residence on the Hogwarts grounds, who was going to complain about an aggressive lizard-chicken though. If they managed to make it past the Cockatrice, they would make their way back through the trees and down into the passages again. They would need to be careful of the devil's snare lurking in the dark though. The course should be easy enough for the student though, right?
The students that were avid fans of the sport would be able to find themselves in the stands that morning, most likely having to block the early morning sun from their eyes. Luckily, the students would be able to see a majority of the race from where they were seated, only having to use their omniculars for the farthest of the obstacles. Any student paying attention to the moderator of the race would notice her having already downed two cups of coffee and a third tightly clutched in her gloved hands.

She really didn't know why she was here, battling the cold and snow to watch some stupid broom match. No matter that it wasn't snowing. Or that she disliked flying. With that last statement, one would wonder why she had agreed to and participated in the broom racing match a few days prior with Monica. In short, her friend had asked and she had agreed. But to stand here and watch a match. Crazy!
Most of the other times a match had gone ahead, Bea had curled herself into a nice ball and read a book, or completed a jigsaw puzzle, or roamed the castle, or wandered the grounds. Literally anything to else to not watch this race. But this one was different. Slightly. This time she knew one of the racers pretty well. As well as you could when you incendio'd a potions bag and completed a potion completely mute together. She'd heard that Hunter hadn't done quite so well in his last race and truthfully it was the only reason she'd braved the cold today.
Standing still, trying and what felt like failing to warm her hands, the appendages feeling like blocks of ice attached to her arms, she had a view of most the race from where she stood. Her Ravenclaw scarf (she still had house pride, alright) flitted slightly in the slight breeze that arose and she absently wondered how much she was going to enjoy this race. Hopefully, as Hunter became trapped and injured, a lot.
