Surprises at the owlery
It was a sunny September morning. I had recently arrived at Hogwarts and although I was having a great time I missed my family. I was on my way to the owlery to send a letter to my cousin. It was my first time there. I still didn't have my own owl so I used the school owls. When I got there I didn't really know what to do so I waited for someone to arrive. A girl from Ravenclaw arrived and told me what I had to do. I had to tie the letter to the owl's leg, which in this case was called Hercules, and then the owl would make its way to my cousin's house. I stayed there for a long time stroking the owls. I love owls. It's my second favorite thing after quidditch. Maybe for my birthday I'll get one. If not when I grow up I want to get an owl. I lost track of time until I heard voices approaching. It was two sixth year Gryffindor students about to send a letter to their families. They greeted me and I greeted them back. I didn't know them very well, only by sight from the common room. I'm a bit shy so I didn't say anything at first. Gradually I realized that they seemed nice and I asked them what their names were and what they liked. Their names were Mark and Viktor and they were cousins. They were both very funny and friendly. We discovered that we had a lot in common and we chatted until we remembered that we were late for lunch.
