Letters to My Father

Father,
I truly hope this letter finds you well. I know you are anxious to know what house I was sorted in to.. turns out I'm a Slytherin just like you were! Mom always said I would be a Gryffindor like her, Collin and Arron. Truthfully I assumed I'd be a Hufflepuff like Finlay was. Guess we were all wrong. Does the Sorting Hat make mistakes?
I made some friends too.. Verthandi Muspell, Amy Acree, and Adya Oakes. They're all super sweet and nice. Adya is from London just like you! We're dorm-mates too, but I think I have her in some of my classes as well. There's so many students from all across the world. It's so hard to believe how many wizards and witches there are!
Usually I'd send a text but like you said, this would be the only way to communicate to you and mom. I'm not sure if the owls actually know where to go though, so I hope your response is proof that this works and I'm not wasting ink. Anyways, I want to thank you for taking the time to show me your hometown and helping me purchase my items at Diagon Alley. It was nice seeing you again, and I wish that I could see you more often. I miss you, dad.
I know deep down my brothers miss you too, especially Arron. Please write him soon too if you haven't already.

Letters to My Father

Father,
I'm not sure if you received my first letter or not, but I won't bore you with old news in case you already read it.
I am acquainting myself well in the House of Slytherin and classes too. So far, I am enjoying charms and potions the most. Potions appears to be my strongest class.. I love creating something from nothing, but getting the ingredients to make the correct spells can be costly and time-consuming. That's where my second love comes in: charms! No pounds needed; all you need is focus, proper pronunciation and the right gestures required. I almost got the hang of it, too!
But there are some classes that I can't get the hang of like flying. I cannot for the life of me stay on a broom for 5 seconds.. who even figured that brooms would be the new way of getting around? It's quite funny to watch my peers fly, but I feel like a vacuum cleaner would be more sufficient.. Its got handles too if you think about it.
Anyways, how are you doing? I'd love to hear from you soon.
