Dear cousin

Dear Katie, how are you? I am fine.
The trip to Hogwarts was exciting, all of us first year students were very excited and wanted to get there as soon as possible. I traveled in a compartment with Mary, that girl I told you I met in Diagonal Alley and Nay another nice girl, they are now my best friends. When we arrived Miss Finley Greer the Hogwarts caretaker was waiting for us. We had to get on boats to cross the lake, they were boats of four, I was in boat 7 with Nay and Mary and a boy called Edward Foxe.
While we were in the boat I thought that I was sure that I would love Hogwarts and even if that wasn't the case it was worth it to come. We arrived at a hall and after a few minutes we were ushered in for the sorting ceremony. The rest you already know, they put me in Gryffindor and these are the first lines I write after the first week. By the way, before you ask me, because I know that if I don't tell you in this letter you will ask me in yours. No, I didn't go to Hogsmeade. I'm saving up to buy a Fake permission form so I can go before I get to third year.
