A Reading
For a bit, Duvessa Nyx Ember was actually nervous. She climbed the, what it seemed to be, endless stairs and pushed open the small door. She descended down the steps, wondering why on earth she had chosen to visit the Divination Room, of all places. The shadows on the wall moved occasionally, making her skip a few steps in shock.
Lovely, embroidered curtains and carpets hung around the room, and inviting armchairs looked soft enough to sleep in. She wondered if it was possible to just try one out...or maybe a couple....no. She couldn't. She didn't want to be more trouble that she had to. The purpose of her coming was quite simple, actually. She wanted to have a reading. For the endless darkness that she had experienced, she wondered if anything...like joy...could ever stab it's way into her lonely life. Perhaps.
She reached the bottom of the stairs, neatly tucking her hair behind her ear. Finally, she decided she must speak. She cleared her throat.
"Excuse me? I was wondering, if I could have...a reading." She stammered, wondering why on earth she was talking to a stone wall. Or, it was so she thought as the shadows moved. The curtains wriggled.

A Reading
Professor Bardot sat inside her office, she was casually grading some homework. She seemed to be doing a lot of that lately. She didn't know if it was more often than usual, but she loved the involvement and the interest in Divination from her students. She didn't mind the extra work and she loved to see students excited and engaged in class.
She was interrupted by a voice of a student. She looked up to see a First-year Slytherin girl, but she couldn't remember her name. She tried to remember all the names of students at Hogwarts but for some reason, she could not remember this girls name. After just a moment, she spoke to the young girl in front of her.
"Yes dear?...OH! A reading? Sure! Did you have any specific type of reading in mind?" she asked, pausing a bit as she talked. She wanted to give time between her words to let the girl process what she was saying. "If you don't have something specific in mind I can always help you to figure out what is best, and if that's the case, would you mind telling me what you need information on?" she finished asking the girl, hoping that she did have some sort of idea the type of reading she wanted, but either way would be fine.

A Reading
Duvessa froze. She turned to the kind Professor and quickly processed what she said.
"I..it's my first time. What types are there?" She stammered, feeling more stupid every minute. Why did she come here without a reading in mind? Her mind raced with possible answers.
She shuffled her feet on the soft floor, then remembered that the Professor was still there. She decided to wait for an answer instead of pushing in, for ti felt polite to. Her even, black hair fell to cover her face so she was visible only through a crack. Irritated, she tucked it back neatly. She cursed herself from forgetting to put it up. She smoothed her pristine uniform and fngered the soft matiereal of her black robe. Then she looked at the teacher to get the answer.
"I don't mind. Which is the easiest reading to take?" She asked, her eyes glinting curiously. She had always liked to investigate and this was certainly new to her. A way to tell the future? To be able to find out what would happen? Game was on.
She was a little devil with her friends who were every bit as amusing and witty as her. But in front of Professors was a totally different story.

Professor Bardot nodded as it seemed the girl didn't know much about Divination. Which, in her opinion made the readings more fun because she could take it as an opportunity to teach while she was doing the leading.
Professor Bardot thought for a brief moment before holding up a finger and disappearing. She was going to grab a few things. She returned and set down some things in front of the two of them. "Here... I have a set of tarot cards and a divination coin. Now, depending on if you just want the answer to a simple yes or no question determine which of these we can use. If you want a more complicated reading I would suggest the cards or if you'd like a simple yes or no, then it would be effective to use the coin." She said, pointing to each item as she described it. She always liked to make sure that she chose the correct item when it came to Divination readings because she wanted to answer the person's question in the most effective way possible.
She would quietly and patiently await the studenet's answer as it was definitely an important one. She didn't want to make her feel rushed at all. She had plenty of time for her to make a decision. "And don't worry dear, take your time when making a decision. I have plenty of time."

A Reading
It was quite obvious that Duvessa had no clue to what was happening when it came to Divination. She faintly remembered writing "yes" and "no" on each side of a rubber and then asking questions, after throwing it on the table with Lorita. But that was ages ago, and surely no one could call that Divination.
She stared at the golden coin, puzzled. Surely that was not what they were about to do? However, she began thinking that it was true. She listened to the Professor intently, keen to learn more about future subjects and Divination in general.
"Hmm...for the excitement and curiousity, could I please use the Tarot Cards?" Duvessa decided, examining the small deck of tarot cards.
She remembered something that her Mother was telling her.
"Professor, is it true that Divination Tarots have human charactrstics? Like, can they sense when someone owns them or doesn't tend to them carefully?" She began thinking that she was asking stupid questions. She hestitated, trying to ignore what she had just said.
"Er...Tarot, please." She stammered, blushing a beetroot red.
What could the Professor do now? Feeling more excited with every second, she took the time to gaze around the room quickly. It really was most admirable, and definately very neat. To think that she would be having lessons here in 3 years time! The room did look very curious, and very different from the usual classrooms. The soft seats certainly looked more inviting then the cold, hard ones in other classes.

Professor Bardot nodded and put the coin away before grabbing the cards and shuffling them. Shuffling of Tarot Cards was a vital process that needed to happen. She quickly shuffled them and then fanned them out for Duvessa to pick from. She spoke quickly though before the student in front of her picked willy-nilly.
"However... Please take your time picking. Take the time to pick cards that seem to be calling out to you. I know it sounds silly... but please trust me. Also please select three cards and set them in front of you exactly how you draw them, facedown." She said smiling and patiently holding the cards out for Duvessa.
She would wait for her to carefully select cards. Tarot Card readings were one of her favorite things to do because they were up to interpretation and were always different. She had never had a reading that was the same as a previous one. It was one of the many things that made Divination exciting for her. Many witches and wizards didn't believe in it, but it was hard and that was likely why. However, even since her time at Hogwarts many years ago, and her parent's time before that, it just came naturally to her, and her family, so she didn't have much room to talk. She knew how difficult it was for others and she always kept that in mind when teaching her students.
