Irina was happy that Jalen had followed her, if she was to be honest she was feeling quite surprised with herself, because she had the boldness of asking him to come with her. She had promised to herself that she wouldn't let herself trust someone like this again, that she wouldn't let no one enter her space again or find someone with who she would share a little more about her then a friendly smile, a "Hello!" and a "goodbye!". One thing she had learned is that you really don't know the people with who you are talking too, they can pretend to be your best friend and a moment after they are sharing on your back, all kinds of nasty and mean things about you. She made a mental note while she was walking beside Jalen through the crowded corridor, that she would be careful this time, this time and all many times in the future when she gets to know more people. She wouldn't let herself be played and hurt again. Despite this, she couldn't stop feel a tendril of hope about Jalen, something in the boy made her feel that he was being honest and genuine when he was talking to her, although, she knew that the darkest part of her had not yet been shared with him...and probably it would take some time until he got to know it. Unless he had hear the rumors...a little voice spoke to her mind. She suddenly felt a cold shiver in her spine and an extra weight fell in her stomach, did he knew? Did he heard about what happened at Slytherin's and why? This thoughts soon throw into her a feeling of fear and she felt nervous. She wanted to trust the friendly and smiling Hufflepuff boy that now was entering the empty classroom with her, her heart almost pleaded her too, like some addicted in need of something to feel warm and safe again but her mind raced wildly in doubts, distrust and self insecurities. Some could call it paranoia, some would say it's perfectly normal for someone with her history of love turn into hurt and hate. To someone that had been tricked and lied too all her life by people she loves and trusts the most, being entering in an empty room with a total stranger could be seen as an act of foolishness or an act of a lot of courage and faith. Lets hope is an act of courage and faith! She thought having a deep breath before speaking to Jalen again, "Well, welcome to my favorite place to study and to do my homework!" She said joyfully while putting her bag over one of the wooden tables and heading towards one of the tall windows on the opposite wall. She leaned to one of the window's framed and looked outside. It had been snowing, so the view was painted in white with little shy spots of green and grey. "The view from here is beautiful!" She said with a dreaming tone of voice, "At Slytherin's we only see the bottom of the lake through our windows." She explained, "It's a peaceful sight!" She added not wanting the boy to think she was complaining about it, "But I love to see the grounds and the great lake from here!" She said finally looking at the boy. Something in his eyes had been calling her attention since she looked at him first time. He had beautiful eyes, that is not a lie. They were the darkest eyes she had ever seen, and with the faint light of the room they looked like they were made of shiny coal. As an artist, she always had eyes for details, and the eyes are the best way of catching someones soul they say. Perhaps she was too bad reading people after all, but at least she could recognize when someone has something that stands out of common into something more interesting and beautiful.
Noticing that she had been staring for longer then normal, she started to feel that awkward sensation of embarrassment again. So she quickly turned her gaze towards the window's view again. "So...let's...lets make our homework?" She asked stumbling a little in her words and making an effort to not cover her face with both hands and just hide herself.

Jalen was glad he had chosen to follow Irina. She was very optimistic, joyful, and energetic. They were headed for an empty classroom to talk some more. Jalen was also glad he was socializing. He had been an extrovert once.... that was before his mother was killed. Irina and Jalen had so much in common, it was shocking. While he still was curious about the scars she had, he was intending to have a good conversation in the empty classroom.
Jalen walked behind Irina, already trusting her one hundred percent. He was glad that he got his first friend, even though he had been at Hogwarts for four months, almost five. He had interacted, but it was mostly just a greeting, or they turned out to be his enemy. Judging on what had happened with him and Irina, they weren't going to be enemies. Finally, they arrived at the classroom. "Well, welcome to my favorite place to study and to do my homework!" She announced. Jalen could really tell she liked the classroom. Jalen did himself. He looked around as Irina described her favorite things about the classroom.
The view from here is beautiful! At Slytherin's, we only see the bottom of the lake through our windows." She explained to him. Jalen smiled. "It's a peaceful sight! But I love to see the grounds and the great lake from here!" Jalen nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it is nice up here!" He said. He turned to Irina. He meant to only glance at her, but suddenly, he couldn't look away. He was staring dreamily at Irina, realizing how beautiful she was. Her eyes were very unique, they were hazel with golden rays, and Jalen found them lovely.
Jalen noticed Irina look away and he look away as well. He had been staring at Irina. Wait... did he-
You've known her for like, five minutes, he reminded himself.
Irina asked if he wanted to do their homework, stuttering a bit, but Jalen didn't mind. "Yeah," he responded. "Yeah, let's do our homework."

Looking through the tall window brought her a peaceful feeling and some kind of nostalgia. She had been at Hogwarts for just four months, but she already felt at home inside those walls. The grounds were covered in bright white snow and it was possible to see some frozen spots at the lake's surface. "Yeah, it is nice up here!" Jalen agreed with her and when she looked up at him, their eyes met and they stared at each other for a while. Rina felt fluttered and confused looking at the boy's captivating dark eyes. What she felt in that brief moment was like if something had awakened inside of her but it scared her at the same time. She wasn't sure if she was ready to let herself feel like that again. And for the love of Merlin, she hadn't met him for more then what? 10 minutes?
Suddenly she a feeling of guilt took control of her, as if she was doing something wrong just to be looking at Jalen. She knew that her heart was still hurt and it still belonged to another dark-haired boy...in fact, she wasn't sure if she would ever forget him. But what had happened moments ago had left her unsure of it but she was certain she didn't wanted to deal with it so soon. "I...I'm sorry..." She said to him in a soft airy voice. She felt relieved when her new friend kindly agreed that they should finally focus on their homework.
Smiling a little shyly and still slightly blushing Irina turned and headed the wooden table where she had left her school bag. Giving Jalen a quick glance before starting to take her supplies from it. She put her quill, bottle of ink, a piece of parchment and her school book on the table and quietly sat on one of the chairs waiting for Jalen to join her. "So...do you have any idea what an imp is?" She asked, "I think they are terrible and mischievous little fellows!" She admitted with a small laugh. "Do you like magical creatures?" She continued now not being able to stop with her questions, she was curious about him, "I love them! I used to play with some Jackalopes and others in my mother's home land. I mean, when I'm allowed to go there" She said the last words with a note of sadness in her voice. She had been at the Black Forest that Winter break, but thing had not been all pleasant with her grandmother. "Where are you from Jalen? I mean, if I may ask you that..." She said now feeling a little embarrassed again. She didn't wanted him to think that she was being nosy with all that questions.

Jalen was surprised he had just been staring at Irina like he was in love with her. How could he be in love with someone he had just met less than 10 minutes ago? That would be a world record and kind of weird. Jalen decided to just forget about t, but that became impossible when a thought struck him... He hadn't been staring at Irina.... they'd been staring at each other.
Jalen felt like his face was on fire when he thought about the possibilities. He dismissed them all as ridiculous. He slightly smiled, even though he was trying hard not to. Irina must've noticed too, as she seemed very shy at the moment. "I... I'm sorry..." She apologized. Jalen responded, "You're good!"
She smiled and Jalen couldn't help but smile back, as he noticed she was blushing too. She took out all of the materials she would need, and Jalen did the same. "So...do you have any idea what an imp is?" She asked. Jalen nodded. "Yeah," they're stupid midgets! Jalen refrained from saying that as he remembered his one encounter with an imp."I think they are terrible and mischievous little fellows!" She said.
"Do you like magical creatures?" She continued. Jalen opened his mouth to say something, but she was on a roll. "I love them! I used to play with some Jackalopes and others in my mother's home land. I mean, when I'm allowed to go there" She said this with a hint of sadness. "Yeah, I do. I don't have a lot of experience with them, but from the experience, I do have, I like them!" He said.
"Where are you from Jalen? I mean, if I may ask you that..." Jalen smiled. "Sure! I'm from Harlow." He said. "What about you?

Irina was holding her quill playing with it between her fingers while she was talking to Jalen. It was really easy to talk with him, like every Hufflepuff she had met, the boy had a peaceful and warm contagious energy. It felt nice and she was able to be calm and having this friendly conversation with him. He was like the tranquility after the storm where her life had been lately.
"You know about the imps?" She asked him, "The only thing I know is that they are always ready to cause trouble!" She said with a small giggle, "Have you met one before?" She asked curious looking at the boy waiting for his answer.
"Yeah, I do. I don't have a lot of experience with them, but from the experience, I do have, I like them!" He told her when she asked about magical creatures. "I heard professor Blumenthal is preparing an errand where we will have the opportunity to interact with some of the creatures! I'm actually very excited for it! Do you want to go with me?" She asked smiling brightly at him. She honestly wanted him to say yes, so she would find one more thing for them to have in common and also another excuse to be with her new friend.
Rina was feeling very talkative now that she was feeling more comfortable around Jalen. He said he was from Harlow, when she asked where he was from, "Oh! Really? Well...let's say we don't live that far from each other! I'm from London!" She answered him in her turn. Rina was finally able to say something without stumble in her own words. It was strange really, the way she seemed to feel when she looks at him. To be fair as more as she looked at him as more curious about him she had become. He was friendly, calm he seemed to be patient...but his eyes were hiding something, like a mystery to solved and she loves mysteries they always captivated her.
