Breakfast with friends Ravenclaw table Finished Closed

Alex walked down to the Ravenclaw table still slightly tired, they went to bed late last night because they were excited. They sat down next to Anna with a wave and smile, then looked at the food picking out some pancakes, eggs, and some fruit and a glass of orange juice. They thought it to be the best breakfast for their first day at Hogwarts, and started buttering up their pancakes, feeling their body slowly start to wake more at the amazing smell of so much food in the morning.

They glanced over at Anna seeing her writing a letter and curiously watched, wondering who she was writing too and if this was a reply to a previous owl she had gotten, Then Alex wondered how Anna would owl the letter out. Does she have an owl of her own? Would she use an owl from the Owlery? Should I write something to my family? They continued pondering these questions before realizing they were just staring intently, and turned red from embarrassment, turning back to their food and shoving a mouthful of eggs into their mouth, not sure if Anna had noticed them staring or not. They didn't think much of that though, and just continued eating their food embarrassed.

Pandora opened her eyes tiredly in the dormitory. It took her a few seconds to realize where she was. She was still tired. I guess yesterday's tiredness said to herself. She quickly put on her robes and left the dormitory.

The great hall was as crowded as yesterday. There was a lot of noise. Pandora's inner voice said she had to get used to it. She walked over to the table where the eagles were. Then something occurred to him. Classes were to begin today. I wonder what the lessons will be like, Pandora thought.

She found an empty spot and sat down without thinking. All kinds of breakfast foods were on the table. But Pandora got toast and pumpkin juice, a sorcerer's drink her mother had said. Just as she was buttering his toast, he saw that the person opposite him was Anna, whom she had met on the train. Maybe he was writing a letter. She remembered the letter she wrote yesterday and chuckled involuntarily.

"Hello Anna. How are you? Wow you Ravenclaw. Classes start today, are you excited?"

Yes, she couldn't help herself. Thinking she might be uncomfortable, he looked at his food again. She opened like a wolf.

OOC NOTE:

As Anna was pouring her heart out into the letter she noticed someone sat next to her, but she paid no mind. Then the person waved at her and she finally acknowledged them. It was Alex! Anna’s face split into a big grin. “Morning Alex! Did you sleep well last night? I’m just finishing up a letter for my parents”, Anna smiled again and went back to writing, now listening, in case Alex wanted to say something.

After a bit they haven’t spoken up so she glanced at them, their face was slightly red and they were very focused on their breakfast. Anna did her best not to giggle, so she cleared her throat and added the finishing touches to the letter.

Another person sat across from her. And they even called out her name. It was Pandora! Anna smiled widely again, so many people she met are hanging out with her this soon. Is this what having real friends was like? “Morning Pandora! It looks like we’re both in Ravenclaw. I got up really early this morning especially for class”. Anna was in a great mood this morning, and she was about to go to a library later as well, this day couldn’t have started better.

“Oh, Pandora this is Alex”, Anna pointed to the white hair next to her smiling at them, “Alex this is Pandora”. She smiled at both of them, they were both kinda shy so Anna decided to be the middle man and introduce them to each other. “And we are all in Ravenclaw, so we probably all have a lot in common”. Anna grinned. Then her stomach growled quietly so she decided to finally finish her breakfast. Putting away the letter and her quill, she bit into her toast.

Pandora heard Anna's voice as she tiredly ate her buttered bread. Took some pancakes. She looked at her with his yellow eyes and spoke, trying to smile.

"Wow. I've had a hard time waking up too. I'm having a hard time staying awake right now. Are you writting a letter?"

She could hardly keep her eyes open. So she took coffee at the table. She felt a little better. She looked at the white-haired boy next to Anna and smiled.

"Nice to meet you Alex. I think you're right Anna.We have more in common than others."

Pandora hit them both. Even though they were in the same building, they were different. She turned to Alex and asked curiously.

"I wonder. Is your hair real or dyed? It looks real. Don't get me wrong. Your hair is so beautiful. "

She opened his bag and looked at the lesson plan. The first lesson was potions. They were real potions. She turned to Anna and Alex.

"What's your first lesson?"

She put the curriculum in his bag and went back to her pancakes. It tasted good, just like the pancakes her mother made. She felt at home. She smiled involuntarily. She had forgotten how tired she was.

Alex was still chewing on food when the newcomer arrived, they looked up momentarily then went back to their food not trying to pay much attention, as Anna and the newcomer spoke briefly with ease, but failing as they were then suddenly introduced to the newcomer, who's name was Pandora. Alex finally looked up from their food, having to move a few strands of hair from their face, and smiled at Pandora.

They finished the small amount of food in their mouth and then re-introduced themselves, even though they were just introduced, "Alex, Alex Edwards.." Their accent coming through thickly as they then placed their utensil down to now look into the conversation, moving hair out of their face again. They were then questioned about their hair and Alex had a ghost of a smile appear on their lips, of course the hair was one of the first topics, people found it curious that they were born with naturally white hair. They were also flattered by the compliment to follow after. "Erm- My hair is naturally white... they they smiled shyly, they took a bite of what was left of their eggs before pulling out their lesson plan that they put in their pocket to not forget, which was a smart move as Alex was so tired that morning they forgot to check if they even had it.

They scanned it quickly noticing they had Potions, and said not really excited, "Potions..." They then folded the plan back in their pocket, noticing their music sheet also in their pocket and decided to leave it there. They thought about what they may do later after today's lessons as they took a sip of their drink, looking at Anna curiously, "What about you Anna? What do you have?" Even though they weren't really a morning person they still were as curious as ever, and eager to learn more about the people they interacted with.

Anna nodded at Pandora’s question. “Yeah I was writing to my parents, I’ll send the letter later tonight. I was just writing about my first night at Hogwarts, I expect papa is very excited to receive it”, Anna smiled fondly.

She watched as Pandora complimented Alex, and the later smiled cutely. She was so glad both of her friends were getting along so nicely. ‘This is nice’, Anna thought, comfort was setting in her bones. She found her people, her friends, and so many of them as well. All of them made her feel welcome, like she finally belonged somewhere. ‘Not that my home life was difficult or lonely. I just never had friends my age’, her thoughts continued. She was brought out of them as Alex called out her name. They were talking about classes.

“Oh, let me see”. Anna rummaged through her bag and pulled out her lessons plan. Checking it she found out she had Charms. “I have Charms. That’s going to be interesting. I’m finally going to learn my first spell”, Anna grinned excited to finally do some magic herself.

“What subjects are you two looking forward to?”, she asked, curious at what the others liked the most.

Alex thought for a moment before saying, "Well because we can't take the Care of Magical Creatures class until we are 3rd years.." they pulled out their lesson plan again and then pointed at one and stated, "Transfiguration is the one i'm most excited for this year." they smiled looking at the two. "It seems like a fun time to make objects shape-shift into something completely new!" Their eyes gleamed with excitement as they clearly showed their thrill and curiosity in their voice. It was strange on how easy it was for Alex to get acquainted with the others, when Alex was younger their parents tried to find friends for them, but those people never came as close to even being able to talk to Alex. But with these people it seemed to be different, like they were finally able to talk and be themself with them...Even if they hardly knew anything about each other yet.

Alex grabbed their music sheet after putting away their lesson plan and stared at it, Would this place have a club for people who really enjoyed singing? Or even just a music room that I can go to time to time to practice singing? These thoughts came over their head as they looked down at the lyrics on the page. They had as much of a passion for singing as they did for learning about nature, which reminded them of a simple, 'get to know you' question, "Pandora..Right? What do you enjoy doing outside of school and magic?" They couldn't remember if they asked Anna this question last night, but figured if Anna wanted to, she could also answer the question.

"Wow, I have a potion. Shall we go together?"

Pandora posed the question to Alex. A classmate wouldn't be bad at all. She had another friend now.

"First spell. My parents never said it was real. But my mom used to tell me her memories of Hogwarts for story purpose before going to bed as a story. "

When these memories came to his mind, he was sad. It was a long time ago, and a lot had changed since then. She looked at the lesson plan on the table and spoke.

"Defense Against the Dark Arts looks pretty interesting. But his potions have a different aura."

Pandora took one last look at her schedule and put it in her bag. Hearing Alex ask a question, she turned quickly.

"Playing the piano, reading, listening to music and if the weather is nice i will use arrow. I want to learn another musical instrument this year. But I don't know what to learn"

Okay, she talked a little too much, as usual. I hope they weren't offended, Pandora thought. This time he posed the question to both of them. She didn't know much because

"So what do you two like to do?"

Care of Magical Creature? Anna figured Alex would’ve liked herbology as well, but they picked Transfiguration. Anna smiled, she was learning more about her friends. Pandora for example liked Defense Against the Dark Arts, but still liked Potions more. And they both had so many things they liked to do. Anna liked just listening to them talk, enthusiasm in both their voices.

“Hey, Pandora. I think you could learn how to play the flute, since you can already play the piano it could be fun”, Anna added her opinion. She didn’t really know much about music instruments, but those two went well together, so she figured they’d be similar to play as well.

“I love, drawing and reading. I also collect and press flowers as well”, Anna picked up a strawberry scone and happily ate it. She noticed that it had gotten very bright in the Great Hall and it was quite full as well. She figured she should get going if she wanted to get to the library and to class on time. She gulped down her pumpkin juice and checked that she had everything she needed. “Hey guys sorry to interrupt but I’ve got to get to class, I’ll see you around. Bye, bye”, and with a wave she started walking towards the Grand Staircase.
