A Walk By The Lake

"Wow, I really ought to come here more often." Asher muttered to himself when he reached the Great Lake. The fresh and clear water reflected his look like a crystal clear mirror, it was a nice and serene scene.
He recalled when he first came here to Hogwarts, they had crossed the Great Lake with some boats. He also remembered that it would have probably not been safe for them if they weren't accompanied by the Groundskeeper.
There was also the fact that an enormous amount of Magical Creatures inhabit this lake, infact there was a whole village of merfolk living in it! Not to mention the other creatures like Grindylows, who would undoubtedly not take a disturbance in their territory well.
He tried to push these thoughts to the back of his mind for now, he originally came here because he needed a break from studying 'too much' his Mother had somehow guessed from just his letters that he was studying a lot and decided to have her son do something different as a sort of change, which she made sure of by threatening to send a Howler everyday until he tells her himself that he did as asked.
So he decided that exploring Hogwarts was something he should have done the first chance he got, and got on to exploring the castle and it’s various locations. Which brought him here, at the Great Lake. 'I like the place here, maybe I will stay for a while.'
Life is a cup of water, you either look at the empty part or the full part.

A Walk By The Lake
Andrea was tired of being stuck in her dormitory, reading until the evenings passed. So she decided to head down to the great lake.
It was a rather chilly night. The cold winds blasted Andrea's face. She probably should've bundled up more, as all she had to warm her up was a hat and a winter jacket. She was shivering by the time she made it to the great lake. The clear waters mirrored the setting sun. Andrea hadn't really expected anyone else to be there, since it was so late in the day and it wasn't exactly swimming season. But when she looked around, she saw a boy standing near the edge of the water.
Andrea was quite surprised to see him there. But nevertheless, she preferred having company rather than being by herself. She walked over to the boy, and extended her hand. "Hi! I'm Andrea. I'm a first year hufflepuff." She said, smiling.
The boy seemed to be a first year by the looks of him. "So, what brings you down here?" She asked, trying to break the ice. "I got sick of being inside myself. I can't wait until it's swimming season again. I would love to swim in the lake." She said, gesturing torwards the great lake.

Asher was a bit surprised when a girl started talking to him, he didnt think that ther would be anyone out and about at this time especially at the Great Lake, but then again he himself was here. He was glad he didn't jump form surprise like he usually would have, courtsy of the calmness of the Great Lake. The girl introduced herself as Andrea Daniels, a first year Hufflepuff, he shook her hand and introduced himself. "Asher Blackjack, first year Gryffindor, nice to meet you Andrea."
"So, what brings you down here?"
"Ah, er well I am just taking a break from my studies." he was technically threatened by his mother, but in his defense magic is just to fascinating to not study.
Andrea then snapped him from his thoughts when she spoke again. "I got sick of being inside myself. I can't wait until it's swimming season again. I would love to swim in the lake." "Wait back up for a minute there. Did you just say swimming season? Asher thought about this for a moment, how could someone even swim in the Great Lake? Wouldn't the creatures dwelling in it be all over them? Wait, Andrea said a swimming season so maybe the creatures hibernate during a certain time of the year?
Actually now that he thought about it, he wouldn't be too surprised that wizards just swim in monster infested lake, wizards are just weird like that. "Never mind, I wouldn't be too surprised if wizards enjoyed swimming with dangerous creatures."
