How are you doing? I hope everything's going well back at home! I miss you guys loads and it hasn't even been two weeks yet! Everything is so confusing here. You told me so much about Hogwarts and I am still bewildered at everything. I am not used to going to class to learn about magic! There's lots of muggle-born people here and although (as you know) I don't discriminate because of blood status, it's really interesting to see the difference in culture between people! Because of Papa and you I know the basics of both muggles and wizards and I'm really glad to be able to understand most people pretty well. Like, some muggle-borns are scared to death when they first see wizard pictures! It's understandable, but still pretty funny.
So... I'm sure you want to know how the ride went, and most especially... what house I'm in. Well, I know you'll be disappointed, but I'm not too happy about it, but I'm unfortunately in Slytherin. I know everyone in the Fenlix family has been in Ravenclaw, and I swear, I really really wanted to be in that house! But the Sorting Hat chose differently for me, I guess. I've heard it's never wrong. I just... honestly, I really wish I was in Ravenclaw... I know I shouldn't believe stereotypes, and none of the Slytherins I've met have been too mean, but I'm worried I'll become as evil as all those horrible people from when you were younger! I don't want to end up like them... And I know a house can't dictate who you are, but your friends shape you, right? And spending time with mostly Slytherins scares me...
I hope you're not too mad disappointed sad that I'm not in the same house as you and Seanmhair1 and Seanair2 and all the others were. I know you said you'd accept me no matter what, but being the bookworm I am, I'm kinda sad that I won't be spending most of my time in a room full of other bookworms.
I've made a few aquaintances in the 12 days I've been here. You know me, I'd rather read books than talk to people, but I challenged myself. I met a girl called Natalie on the Hogwarts Express, who speaks German. She's in Ravenclaw and I was able to practice the German I learned with Hyltwis a little with her. And I also have two quill pals, Yuri and Emma. I met Yuri three days ago in person, and she's very cool. I only know Emma through the quill, though.

3 Zaphod is an Antipodean Opaleye that Alarian, Mahlioz's mom (a magizoologist), has been studying for a few years and that the family has gotten to know pretty well. He was named due to the fact that when he was born, his tail looked exactly like his head, making it seem like he had two heads, like Zaphod Beeblebrox from The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

Comment ça va? Je suis sûre que ça doit faire bizarre de ne plus m'avoir dans la maison! Mais crois-moi, c'est beaucoup plus bizarre ici à cette école de magiciens! L'autre jour, j'étais en train d'aller au sixième (je pense) étage pour délivrer une lettre par hibou. Six étages. De marche. T'imagines? Je ne comprends pas comment tous les élèves venant de familles non-magiques n'ont pas déjà demandé un ascenseur! Tous ces escaliers sont épuisants!
Bon, de toute façon, ça va, je n'y vais pas tous les jours, au sixième étage. Et puis les magiciens, à la place d'utiliser des ascenseurs, ils utilisent des balais qui volent. Mais ça, tu le savais déjà grâce à maman. Par contre, t'as pas besoin d'avoir trop peur pour moi, parce que je vais faire de mon mieux pour pouvoir voler le moins possible! Ça me terrorise, je ne pense pas exactement que c'est fait pour moi. Même si c'est obligatoire de le faire de temps en temps parce qu'il y a toute une classe faite pour t'enseigner comment faire. ...Ça me fait un *petit peu* peur...
J'espère que tout va bien à la maison! Je sais que t'étais pas trop pour l'idée de m'envoyer à cette école, mais en vrai, ça va. Genre, c'est SUPER bizarre, mais c'est aussi vraiment intéressant! Y a tout un monde hors de celui des humains non-magiques. Tu me connais, je veux toujours apprendre tout ce que je peux, et avec tout ce qui est ici, y a pas de chance que je m'ennuies! D'ailleurs, tu devrais voir la bibliothèque... elle est GÉNIALE!

In any case, it's okay, I don't go up to the sixth floor every day. Besides, instead of using elevators, wizards use flying brooms. Although that you already knew thanks to mom. Oh, but you don't need to be too scared for me, because I'm going to be trying my best to fly the least amount possible! It terrorises me, I don't exactly think it's made for me. Even if it's mandatory to do it from time to time since there's a whole class dedicated to teaching you how to do it. ...It's a *little bit* scary...
Hope everything is going well back at home! I know you weren't really happy about sending me here to this school, but honestly, it's fine. Like, it's SUPER weird but it's also really interesting! There's a whole world apart from the one of non-magical humans. You know me, I always want to learn everything I can, and with everything that there is here, there's not a chance I'm getting bored! You should see the library... it's AWESOME!

What's up? Hope you're doing good, even if you're all alone with mom and papa. I mean, you're bound to be getting spoiled, right? Either that, or they're making you do all the chores... I'd rather not think about it lol.
Things are pretty insane here. I know you're probably jealous, but I beg you, take advantage of your last few years of freedom! If you think you've got it bad, wait until you see the amount of homework teachers give out here... Also, I know you're getting stressed about all that magic stuff since you haven't had your first instance yet. But don't worry about it! You're still ten, it'll come, trust in yourself! If mom's not worried, you shouldn't be.
Anywaysssss, how's everything going? I only left like 12 days ago but I already miss you like crazy and I can't wait to see you for Christmas. Some kids stay at Hogwarts for Christmas, which I guess I understand, but it's so sad! I couldn't imagine spending Christmas without you. And since we're going back to Colombes1 to see Mamie2 and Grand-père3, it'll be even better!
I haven't really made any good friends yet (don't worry, I'm not replacing you). Hopefully it'll come because dealing with your jealousy is worth it if I get to spend time with people and not books for a year. Obviously you're still my favorite, but since you're not here, I'm not going to spend the year without anyone! You've got your school friends too, I'll remind you. But when you do come, make sure to be sorted into Slytherin so we can be together all the time. (:

How're you doing? How is your fourth year in Beauxbatons? I'm still amazed that your hair color is authorized by the dress code. Hope everything is going well in your magical French school with your gIrLfRiEnD.
Anyways, as you obviously know I'm at Hogwarts now! And for the sorting thing... well, let's say it didn't exactly go to plan. I know you don't have houses at your French school, but I really wanted to be part of Ravenclaw and the hat put me in Slytherin. And it really, really sucks. Every time I see a Ravenclaw I just get so wistful... Do you know what to do? Because I don't. Any advice?
Apart from that, though, this school is awesome! The library here is amazing! I know you told me Beauxbatons' one was giant, but I have a hard time imagining one bigger than Hogwarts'. There are so many books! I spend at least an hour a day there, just reading. They have a lot of books by muggles, too, which I'm thankful about. It's always funny to read about what muggles think wizards are like.
Although I hate to admit it, I do miss you. I now understand what it's like to be in a brand new school full of so much unknown. Again, I hope you're doing well, and say hi to Erin1 from me (: Love you!

Thank you for writing to us! We miss you a lot but we're glad you're having fun at Hogwarts! It was great hearing about what you've been learning, I know it's confusing at first but it gets better. And please, do not worry about being in Slytherin! I told you I would accept you however you are, and I do. Being in one house doesn't mean you have to spend all your time with them, I hope you know that. You can meet lots of different people from other houses than your own. And I have to tell you, the death eaters from when I was young weren't all Slytherins. Sure, many of them were, but being a Slytherin doesn't mean you have to be like them. Yes, the Sorting Hat is always right. But you create and live your own life, not it.
(And I'm sure lots of Slytherins are also bookworms. Just ask around!)
I'm glad you've made some friends! Getting out of your safe bubble is the best way to start feeling more at home in this giant school of yours. I would know, I met Shara1 because she was reading and I interrupted her awkwardly. You've got this! I believe in you! Try not to get too lost with all those annoying staircases. I know I did!
Also, happy (probably late by the time this gets there) birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day. We sent you some gifts - I hope they arrived on time! We can't wait to see you for Christmas.

Je viens de parler à ta mère, et elle dit que c'est "fine". Je ne suis pas convaincu... mais apparemment ces fous ont des remèdes spéciaux et tu ne vas pas mourir. Je n'en suis pas trop sûr, donc fais attention à toi, d'accord? Et si tu ne veux pas apprendre à voler, ne le fais pas!
S'il y a une chose qui est bien faite dans cette école, c'est bien la bibliothèque. Maman me l'a décrite et elle a l'air magnifique. J'aimerais bien pouvoir la voir! Tu me feras un dessin?
