Role-play with @Valarie Song
Elizabeth was reading in the library, far too engrossed in the book to notice a few other girls. A curtain of soft, slightly curled hair covered her from sight, but a visible copper and red uniform color made it obvious that she was a Gryffindor. At first, it came as a shock. She had always expected Slytherin or Ravenclaw, but was fairly disappointed when she was sorted into Gryffindor. But she was too proud. She resolved to try as hard as possible - she was determined, all right.

Elizabeth Taylor Brown was always very sunny, and today she seemed even happier than usual. Perhaps it was just the book, magic...or Hogwarts, really. The library table became one of her permanent recess places - not that she needed recess, she was still waiting for her classes to start. Oh, how envious she was of all the people studying - having homework!

Her eyes were a soft color of tender blue. Her father always joked and said "You cou;d get away with murder, the way you look at Mother for a another piece of cake!". Ah. That was true. Elizabeth had always had a sweet tooth, and was very happy to purchase her favorite - Walnut Cake with thick, soft cream or Carrot Cake with a delightful sponge.

Valarie made her way into her favorite place: the library. The bag she carried was filled with her favorite books. Valarie scanned the library. It wasn’t that busy, thankfully. Looking for a place to sit, she walked along the bookshelves trying to find yet another book. After a while, she came upon a girl sitting at a a small table reading. Since she couldn’t seem to find another table she took a seat. She carefully examined the girl. She was a Gryffindor. She had lovely, slightly curly hair. Her eyes were a beautiful shade of blue. Her robes were a shade of scarlet that went beautifully with her hair. Since the girl hadn’t seemed to realize Valarie was there, Valarie reached into her bag to pull out a book. After reading for a while, Valarie looked up to find the girl still reading. Perhaps she had found another bookworm. Carefully slipping a bookmark into her book, she leaned forward to face the girl.
“Hey I’m Valarie! What’re you reading? It’s nice to meet you!” she said, smiling at the young Gryffindor.
“That looks like a really good book! Mine is fine but it could be a bit better,” she said to her.

"Oh, hi." Elizabeth blushed as she waved, "Thank you. That was the book my Mother gave me before I came to Hogwarts. Are you studying? I'm still waiting for my ten days." She said enviously, gazing at Valarie's books.
"I'm Elizabeth Taylor Brown, First Year Gryffindor. But you can call me Liz, Lizzie, Beth or Eliza." She said, tucking her hair behind her ear, which was a curious habit she had. She stared at the pretty girl in front of her, silently wishing she could have such short, pretty curls.

After a moment, she surveyed Valarie, taking in her Hogwarts robes and house. Oh, a Ravenclaw! That was one of her dreams, to be a Ravenclaw. There was a small pause, where Elizabeth found herself self-consiously fiddling with her buttons on her robe. She was a very neat girl and enjoyed having everything neat. Her books were all organized in alphabatical order and her robes clearly ironed and fresh. Her blue eyes rested on Valarie sweetly and she blinked.
"What's your name? Excuse my manners." She said, suddenly realising that she fell into a daydream as she pictured herself making a new friend. Imagine, having someone to talk to, tell secrets and go to breakfast together!

Valarie studied the book in Elizabeth’s hands. A gift from her mother, Elizabeth told her.
“Would you mind if I called you Beth? It’s the name of one of my favorite muggle book characters,” Valarie explained to her with a smile.
“I don’t know many Gryffindors! It’s nice to meet another!” Valarie grinned. Valarie placed her book back into her bag in order to not get distracted by the story. Assuming the girl had not heard her, she repeated her name.
“I’m Valarie. You can call me Val, Vala, or just Valarie. I really don’t mind,” she told her.
“And I’m a Ravenclaw, first year. Do you like being a Gryffindor so far?” Asked Valarie. Suddenly, her bag tumbled to the side and all of her books tumbled to the floor quite loudly. Valarie jumped out of her chair immediately to gather her books. She began shoving the books back into her bag and became annoyed with the fact they were very disorganized, she took them back out to organize the books. Setting her book bag against her chair, she plopped back into her chair. Altering taking a deep breath she faced Beth.
“So…how’re you?” Asked Valarie with a nervous grin and soft chuckle.
