Double the Legs, Double the Trouble
It was late. Later then one was supposed to be out. Small foot steps echoed in the hallway, as a figure crept out of of their Common Room. Rather than traversing the hallway with a Lumos lit from their wand tip, they took the halls in the dark. It didn't matter either way, the figure couldn't tell any difference. Two flights of stairs later and they paused at a doorway, half cracked open by the feel of it. Squeezing their way through the doorway, trying not to make the large, wooden door creak was a difficult task. A small sigh escaped them as the entered the quiet room.
Sliding the robe's hood of which had been covering their face, long strands of brunette hair fell in cascading waves down the figures' back. The girl, Annie has entered the Abandonded Toilets at an odd hour, but why? Padding over to the far wall, hand trailing along the cracks within the wall and stepping over some pieces of rubble, she'd sit down cross legged, squeezing her eyes shut and focusing on her breathing.
It had been several nights of doing this, each with the same result. Sometimes it came easier, other times it took longer. It was never painful but rather and exhilarating experience, still amazed that it happened. All she had to do was think of the memory of her coming across a deer in her childhood park, staring transfixed at the beautiful animal. Then it happened. Her whole body started tingling, short brown fur began to poke up on her body, her arms and legs narrowed and extended, feet taking the form of hooves. Her face elongating into that of a snout while ears emerged from the side of her head, taking form of her previously small ears hidden behind her hair.
After a few moments silence, there was no longer a girl sitting criss crossed but a deer laying with it's legs bent beneth it on the floor. Snuffling was heard and after a few moments hesitation, it began to rise. It, being Annie wobbled to her four instead of two legs now, getting a feel for the slippery floor. She knew it wouldn't be that hard to maneuver once she got to her feet or when she was outside on the grass versus the slippery floor.
Walking a few paces slowly to the exit, she'd poke her head out of the door. The cold hallway air hit her face, compared to the warm bathroom it was comforting, not as suffocating. Something itched in her to continue and go outside. Resisting the urge that pulled her, she'd duck back into the safe area of the bathroom and slowly sit back down in a comfortable position.
Now focusing again, she'd picture herself staring in the mirror of her locker in the Quidditch Locker room. Another tingling feeling occurred, her hooves coming back into hands and feet, brown spotted coat slowly disappearing and being replaced with her pale skin, large brown eyes shrinking and turning to that of her normal blue color. As her features re-arranged themselves she'd dust off her clothes and let out a small exhale. A rush of exhaustion hit her and she'd make her way to the bathroom door. Casting one last glance behind her, she knew that was the last time she'd be transforming and hiding herself in the bathroom. What was there to be afraid of? Getting found out? Shaking the thoughts from her mind, she'd carry herself back the way she came and slipped back through the Common Room door silently, her nightly adventures were far from being over.
