Clark's eyes glimmered with a hint of mischief. It was time. Time to play the game! His mouth projected the sound of thunder rumbling- even if he wished it was literally thunderstorming at the moment. But no, it was just something he didn't want to acknowledge. He slammed the shutters closed, the blinds and drapes were arranged to lock out any exterior light- and candles were lit.
The dinner was cleaned off the table, and if there were extras of anything- they were moved to the counter- everything else was cleaned and put away.
Dr Pepper would be found next to the food, with a container full of pencils, sharpened. A stack of papers resided next to the pencils. The next thing that would be present was the character sheets that everyone created earlier that day- at their seats. Since Clark's family wasn't participating- Clark had removed the desk and returned it to the study- and returned the extra chairs at the same time. Laying in the middle of the table was a map- but it consisted of black construction paper covering up the majority of it. The only thing that was open was a square with 9 mini squares within it.
Everyone had miniatures matching the description they gave- the clothing were more than likely leather armor or just regular clothes that you could just buy from your local seamstress.
Clark coughed to get everyone's attention.
"Welcome. Welcome to the first meeting of the TTRPG club! I am kicking this off with with a basic roleplaying game- something that takes it's tendencies from original rpg games. So, without further ado, I would like to acknowledge that everyone needs to inform me of their actions before rolling! Just to avoid possible cheating. And now..." Clark cleared his throat- making it more definitive.
"You found your way to the only tavern in the little rural town of Brymassen, and settled in for an evening of washing away the dust of the road with cheap beer. As you all sat at a table drinking your first mug of beer, a man came rushing in; he stood in the doorway for a moment, peering into the gloomy tavern, before he caught sight of you.
He came straight to your table, walking boldly as if he owned the place; two other men come into the tavern behind him, and follow him to your table. “You are the adventurers, recently come to town? Greetings! I am Forsythe, Mayor of Brymassen, and I have a business proposition for you. It seems some humanoid monsters, goblins perhaps, have dug a hole into the basement beneath the local mill, and the little monsters have been raiding the mill and surrounding houses, stealing everything not nailed down. If you would be willing to enter their lair and slay them, we would be able to pay you five gold pieces for each goblin or similar smaller monster, and ten for each larger creature. Of course, you'd have to bring back proof; we're willing to accept the right ear of each slain creature for this purpose. What say you?”"
Clark didn't mention that Darksea was going to participate quite yet- as he wanted to wait until everyone had revealed what they planned on doing.
