Spellcrafting & Another Stabbed cheescake Closed

Lilly was so weird sometimes. Angela couldn't wrap her mind around this girl. She always reacted so awkwardly and seriously to the simplest things. Even now, instead of eating properly like everyone else, she was looking and looking at her plate with some puzzled expression.

What's wrong with her, thought Angela to herself, and not for the first time.

As her dormmate she was somehow concerned for Lilly though. She was weird, but also intriguing. And sad. It was heartbreaking to see her so worried and stressed out sometimes. Maybe this fun day was a good occasion to get to know her better?

As Angela was wondering what to say, Lilly started stabbing the food on her plate like it was a voodoo doll of her worst enemy.

Um, hello, are you alright? was the first thing that came to her mind, really. She realized it's not very nice thing to say and smiled to cover up the first impression. You don't like the cake? I think it was really well made. But of course everyone has some preferences. Lilly didn't seem enthusiastic to talking, but there was no way out now. Maybe there should be more than one option. But hey, if you don't like this one, I can take it from you, no worries. I'll repay you some next time, she added lightly.

Lilly turned her head to fast and a wince spread across her face feeling the cracking impact on her neck. 
There next to her set her dorm mate Angela and up until this point, Lilly hadn't noticed someone from her dorm sat next to her as they usually avoid her. 
Lilly spoke very softly it was hard to hear but Angela managed rather well. 
You can have this piece of cake and no need to pay me back, just get it out of my face, Lilly says as she pushes the cake towards the girl. 
Lilly frowned at her, thinking " why on earth would this girl want to eat that disgusting lump of orange cake" or at least Lilly through she had said it to her self. 
But it turns out Angela had heard it and just giggled at the statement-making Lilly slightly puzzled.

To Lilly she wasn't sure if her dorm mate was giggle at her or what she said, this made Lilly feel very valuable in the great hall sitting next to Angela.  A pained expression crossed Lilly's face, then in a flash, it was gone but not before Angela had noticed it. Angela opens her mouth to say...

1) what has Angela got to say?
2) was she making fun of Lilly?
3) why does Angela think she has to give Lilly something in return for the cake?
4) why had lilly hidden her pained expression?

Angela giggled at Lilly's deadpan joke. Maybe the metalhead wasn't actually that gloomy? Get it out of your face, sure, I can do this!, she thought as the delicious cake was placed in front of her. As she wanted to respond "You think it's disgusting? Well let's make it disappear as fast as possible!", Lilly made some disturbingly unhappy grimace.

Eh... So she was being weird again. Why is she being weird about stupid cake? It was only a friendly proposition! There is no drama to be had here!

It's not disgusting, Angela noted, eating the cake slowly. It's actually pretty good.

Maybe it's not about any cake at all. Maybe there's something serious going on? She's so quiet, she looks depressed. Not like she doesn't usually, of course, with her black clothes, hair and weird behavior. Is that some cry for help or something? And if so, how to help her anyway?

Angela suddenly turned to her.

Are you okay though? You looked troubled with something. Can I help you? You know, we don't talk much in the dorm. But maybe we should. We're gonna spend a lot of time together here.

After hearing that, Lilly wasn't sure how to respond due never having friends growing up in an all-girls boarding school. 
but she quickly thought of something to reply to her dorm mate. 
Yeah, I alright, it's just that I miss my dad, you know?
I haven't seen him since the ministery put him on an assignment in July and my moms to busy getting ready for her "Honey Moon" again.
I guess I also never thought that someone would actually want to talk to me, due to my unusual style of clothing but I don't have much time to shop in the muggle side and I really hate wearing our school robes. There so itchy and my owl order means to come today but got delayed in the scheduling due to some unknown problem w, so this what I have left wear explained Lilly. 

Nobody knows that Lilly a very chatterer person and due to this she doesn't give her dorm mate a second to answer before she keeps talking. 
my clothing actually form the metal concert I went to a few weeks before Hogwarts just after the boarding school let out for one week of holidays. 

Realising she was rambling, Lilly took a breath to let Angela have a chance to respond.

Angela was trying to keep up with the intense flow of new information coming at the speed of a spell. Your dad... um... uh-uh, concert... okay..., she unsuccessfully tried to reply. Finally Lilly stopped blabbering for a moment.

Angela had no idea in the world how to respond to all of that. Better not to ask about her parents, she decided, it's a delicate topic. She tried to come up with something nice.

Okay, that sounds good, definitely better than your clothes look weird and maybe just get better robes, Lilly.

Deep down Angela knew that was unfair judgement. Lilly's family was apparently troubled, so she was troubled as well, and it was only natural that as half-blood she was used to muggle clothing and muggle stuff. Still... could she at least try to behave normal and fit in? She doesn't live in the muggle world anymore. She is a witch. And always will be one.

Lilly was glad that Angela didn't press into her family stuff and missing her dad. Thankfully she seemed to understand that Lilly family was a bit troubling and wouldn't pry about it.

After a bit of thought, Lilly said she only listens to a few and doesn't really have any recommendations except that three days grace is a good band, lilly was a bit awarked about telling Angela, how she listened to music. 
Umm, Lilly blushed, I'm not sure what to tell you. 
Lilly then asked an Angela a question. Have you heard of Felix dean?

Lilly goes on to the example that her dad was a spell crafter and that his spell was in its trial phase at the moment, so it's not very known around here.

Some older students nearby couldn't help but listen in and gave her looks of understanding when she was talking about her dad, others don't know what she even talking about. 
Lilly knows why these older students give her looks of understanding is beacuse spell crafting was a dangerous job and people usually are not able to spend very much time with the family due to the ministry restrictions.

Angela knew nothing about those music bands, so she just nodded along politely. But when Lilly mentioned her dad, Angela noticed commotion around them. Some people even started whispering to each other, staring at the metalhead with some... respect? Angela's uninterested mood did a 180 degrees turn. Spellcrafting? It sounds like... creating new spells? How's that even possible? Lilly's dad must be some very powerful and exceptional wizard if that's what he's doing. Whatever even a spellcrafter is?! This is so exciting! How is she not more enthusiastic about it? How come she never mentioned that before?

Angela completely forgot about the cake, music and all that boring stuff and focused on the news.

Who knows what kind of effect spellcrafting has on people? She tried to find something to feel good about for Lilly. You surely are proud he does something so responsible? Well, I don't know much just the basic replied Lilly. 

The girl next to her looked on in interest as Lilly spoke once again
Spellcrafting works on a basic algorithm meaning you need to take Ancient runes and charms.i think. 
You use the basic structure of Ancient Runes and start using the research you gather. It dangoures to just attempt to make a new spell on the spot, the danger of this is that it can lead to the death of not only your self but the death of others in a 5-mile radius but it depends on how far you are into crafting the spell sequence.

Taking a breath, Lilly glances around to see some of the older kids listening in to the conversation still, so she smiles at them and moves on with the conversation. 

To answer your other question on how a spell is tried and what spell he's working on. 
He working on developing award or shield spell to intergrade and allow muggle technology into the magical world to start a new growth and bring the magical world up to speed like the muggle world. 
Firstly the new spells go through several phases before it can be released to the general public. 
phase one is having a master in spellcrafting look over your sequence and point out this that need more of a fine iron. 
Phase two is to have a group of people from the spell crafting division to learn it and use it in different places. 

If the spell pass phase to it's then trailed by a section of public members until everything is perfect and it's then released into the public. 

Lilly takes a bit of a break to get her voice back after al that talking, 
A hand appeared in front of her face. 
It seems to Lilly that one of the older students listening to her had handed her some orange juice. 
Lilly quietly thanks to the older student. 

Breathing in Lilly ploughs on into her explanation when the girl next to her asks her a very serious question.

Lilly tells the girl that she is really proud of her father it's just that her father always busy on some new spell or cure for curses that haven't been found. He is hardly around and being the only child of a divorced couple rather hard and lonely. 

Lilly stops after seeing a flicker of understanding.
