A Willow By The Lake
Evelyn had left the common room for a little bit of alone time, avoiding the sounds of the castle and taking a favourite book of hers down to the lakeside. On her walk down she was in awe, the castle of Hogwarts was bigger then she had expected it to be. Sure it was a castle but the sheer amount of rooms and gardens and courtyards that she had passed trying to get down to the lake shocked her, students were milling around everywhere and she didn't quite understand how she would be able to know where she was on her way to classes and things of the like.
Evelyn finally reached the edge of the lake, she walked along the shore, avoiding the small groups of people and people who were on their own as she looked for a nice place to sit down and relax. Soon enough the number of people began to thin and Evelyn found herself by herself finally, a small notch in the edge of the lake was ahead of her and growing on that little notch was a tall willow tree, whose branches floated around in the soft breeze that caused ripples to run along the lake.
Evelyn decided that this is where she would be settled and crouched down by the tree, curling up with her book in her lap and beginning to read it, opening the hard front cover and turning to the page she was up to. It was a wonderous fantasy story about a girl who fell in love with a merman.
She was wrapped up in the story, magic and mystery pulled her into the world of the book, sometimes when she was down she would imagine herself in these stories and it made her feel better. Yet sometimes it did not always help, it made her realize that they were just stories and real life was in front of her, as horrible and shocking as it could sometimes end up being.

A Willow By The Lake
Lucy at on the branch of the tree reading about plants hair hair slightly tied back so it doesn't get in her eyes while reading, Students ran around making a little noise but she didn't mind it. She sat there reading peacefully before another student and by the looks of it a Slytherin sat by the tree reading a book. She was simply going to ignore her but being quite curious she turned around hanging down off the branch like an opossum hanging on a tree by its tail.
''Hello'' She said in a calm toned voice, Not wanting to scare the girl she hopped off still holding her book. ''Hope I didn't scare you'' She said still having the same calm expression on her.
She bent down looking at the book the other student was holding while reading, ''Fantasy huh?'' She said giving her a slight smile making her eyes twinkle while they reflected with the light.
''Name's Lucy by the way, Lucy Valentinova Howell'' Lucy sat down next to her. ''It looks like you don't leave your dorm much?'' She asked the girl sitting beside's her.
''Its not a bad thing, I don't leave much either, But the weather is nice and its peaceful and quiet'' She said looking up at the sky. She didn't enjoy talking that much but she wanted to be more like her mother, Show off her brave and caring side more then the side she grew up to live with.

A Willow By The Lake
Evelyn sat quietly for a moment before her peaceful reading session was interrupted by a girl hanging from the tree she had decided the sit under, apparently, it wasn't as isolated as she thought it was when she had first decided to sit there.
"Oh!, hello" she replied, a small hint of surprise apparent in her voice, she hadn't really expected someone to hang down from the tree, hair flying, like some sort of acrobat. "No, no you didn't scare me, I just didn't expect someone here", she replied a small giggle in her voice, "Yeah, I started the book just the other day, it's quite interesting as far as fantasy reads go" she added. It was true, the book was quite interesting and she was surprised she hadn't finished it already.
"I'm Evelyn, uh- Evelyn Aubrey", she introduced herself in reply, "-And yeah, I don't really get out much, I just wanted to get away from the sound of the common room, I swear the common room echoes, it seems to make it sound even louder then it really is, it just looked so nice out today so I thought it a waste to stay indoors for the day, why not come down by the lake to read instead of being locked up in the dorm?" she finished her statement and tensed up a little as the girl sat beside her, since she had been at Hogwarts she hadn't really tried to get to know anyone, hell, she had barely seen her own dorm mates in the time she had spent there, and so talking with someone new felt a little awkward.
"Do you uh-", she tried to think of something to keep the conversation going. "Do you have a favourite book?". 'Oh god Evelyn, could you sound more awkward'
