Oliver had spent a few days packing up his stuff from his dorm. He was heading home for Christmas! As he boarded the train, he didn’t see many familiar faces. If he did, usally they were in a full compartment. This kept going before he reached the back of the train. He saw one empty compartment and slid inside. He opened his luggage and pulled out the “A History of Magic” book. He also took out his notebook. As he read the new chapter he was taking notes so that he would be ready once he got back to school. He only had 2 weeks of rest and free time during the Christmas break but he thought it was a shame to waste all of it laying in bed doing- nothing might at well be productive. He kept scribbling notes on his notebook while reading. He noted the important things that he found. After 5 min, he had scanned through most of the important parts of the chapter. With a sense of accomplishment, he returned the book, pen and paper and took out his sketch book. He didn’t know what to sketch. While he was sketching his dog, he didn’t notice the person at the door.

Oliver was a bit surprised hearing a familiar voice. It was Katherine! The girl he had met when Ceil accidentally hit her with a snowball! ”Hello Kath! I didn’t expect to see you today! Take a seat! I won’t bother- I’m just sketching.” he told her gesturing to the seat in front of him. By now, the train had started to move and it left Hogsmeade station. He was gonna miss Hogwarts. ”So what made you leave Hogwarts this Christmas? I just wanted to visit my family- maybe visit friends too” he told Katherine. As he awaited her response, he continued drawing on his sketch book. It wasn’t as sophisticated as his other drawings but it still looked good in his eyes. He finished his drawing and his mind went black. What should he do now? Then he thought of a brilliant idea. ”Katherine- can I call you Kath? Anyways, I wanted to ask- could I maybe- draw you? Nothing much to draw on this train-“ he asked her. He had only drew someone else once. That was ebony, a second year who was also fond of drawing. He got a good review on his portrait of Ebony so he wanted to try it out on Katherine to get her review on his art.
