History/Background Story:
Olive was born in Dublin on the 21st of August, 2011 to Edgar and Anna Jones. Edgar was also born in Dublin but grew up in a far away country in South America due to his father being a diplomat working abroad. Like his father before him, Edgar also worked for the government in foreign affairs years later and marriage was an obvious path that aligned with his career. That’s where Anna came in, a good looking young lady who knew how to play her part well in the game Edgar had joined in.

Mr. Edgar Jones is a highly intelligent man, charismatic in a way but quite mysterious as well. He can be dangerous to those who get in his way, but that tends to go unnoticed due to his ability to influence people. However, he and his wife are not a part of high circles in the wizard society, but they do have some influence and power in lower levels. Olive’s mom, Anna, hasn’t got her husband’s brains or high education but she is a gifted witch in her own way, particularly good with plants. They met while Edgar was going to school abroad, got married shortly after he finished his education and moved back to Dublin together where Edgar had got a job offer with the Ministry of Magic. None of them seem to enjoy parenting much but keep a good impression to outsiders.

Olive grew up feeling like something was just not right, not what they seemed on the surface, but she was too young to understand the truth about her family. She’s got two brothers, one older, one younger than her. Her oldest brother and her were never too close and her youngest brother was born around the time her oldest sibling left to go study at Hogwarts. She has always been very protective or her little brother and gives him all the love she has and that is probably all the love you will find in the house of the Jones' - a cold place where nothing is really what it looks like, warm on the outside and frozen within.

Olive lived spent her childhood in three different wizard villages. From when she was 6 until she turned 9 her father got promoted a few times and with that, income and connections with more powerful wizards quickly improved. Consequently, they moved a couple of times to bigger and better homes to live more comfortably and in wizard villages that aligned with the changes her father considered advantageous.

Making new friends was always a struggle. People in general seemed to be used to living in the same place and having the same neighbors their entire lives. Her mom, Anna, took quite some time until she was acquainted with the new place, then the neighbors. Only when she was completely settled she would let Olive start her own process of getting to know the area, but even that with some restrictions. Olive was allowed to play in the backyard a bit at first, then accompany her mom to the store. It was only when Anna started having visitors who had kids that Olive would finally make friends, friends she didn't get to choose, though. As Olive got older and they had been living in the same place for a while, her mom finally started letting Olive play with the neighbors' kids beyond their backyard. She wasn't allowed to do that for long periods of time or every day, but things were slightly improving.

Olive craved spending time with other kids, being outdoors more. Starting over was exhausting but this third time she was told it was the last time. She was tired of always being the new girl, she knew it would take time until people accepted her as one of them and sometimes that didn’t happen at all. The good thing about moving was that, whenever life sucked somewhere, she had the chance to start over somewhere else. She felt that, at times, had she said something different, things would have been better, people would have liked her better and sooner. So not every move was terrible.

When the first letter from Hogwarts arrived, Olive saw her parents faces light up. She wasn’t used to seeing them happy, let alone happy because of HER. She had not told them the first time she accidentally used magic because someone got hurt and she was afraid she'd get in trouble. It was later that they found out when a neighbor told Anna she had watched through the window of her kitchen Olive "push" three boys a few feet away without touching them. She somehow forgot to mention they were bulling her and chasing her back home.

Anna was furious and was just waiting for her husband to come home to tell him his little girl was no princess and let HIM decide on the appropriate punishment. To Olive's surprise, her dad was not angry but puzzled. He asked her a few more questions after she finished telling the story, as if he couldn't understand or believe that his little princess had faced not one, but three bigger boys (although only one actually got hurt while the other two ran). She had been bullied for a while by those boys she had enough and...lost control. He laughed uncontrollably. Her mom was out of her mind, angry at both of them now. Her dad was proud of her. Her mom was enraged, and jealous. She had never had the chance to be trained as a witch. Anna's parents didn't think women needed a higher education so she never got too far.

When the letter from Hogwarts came and both Olive's mom and dad were celebrating, it was really cool but also strange at the same time. What was the best part, though, it was a fresh start to build relationships away from her parents, relationships that would last. THAT felt incredibly good! Life so far had been quite lonely... Her parents were not very present. Even her mom kept it mostly to herself and seemed to enjoy her garden more than her children. Her oldest brother had never been her friend, her youngest brother, although deeply loved, was still too young and moving around made it difficult to make friends her own age. Going to Hogwarts could be just what she needed and had been hoping for!
