Anna was pacing in front of the fireplace in her living room. She was packed and ready yesterday, but she had to wait for September 1st to actually get to Hogwarts. Her parents were still in the kitchen finishing with breakfast. “Mama, papa! We’re gonna be late, let’s go!”. Her parents walked in, Madeline was putting on her coat. “Mon cheri, it’s not even ten, if we leave now we’re going to be quite early”. She smiled and ruffled Anna’s hair. The young witch huffed and smoothed her long black hair. Her dad smiled and looked at her robes. “Don’t you wish to change on the train?”. Anna stubbornly shook her head. “I really want to leave now, pleasee can we?”, she clasped her hands together and made her best puppy face. Aiden and Madeline looked at each other and sighed. “Alright, if that is what you wish for”. Anna was excited, she has been homeschooled her whole life and only had a few witch friends, but they were only kids from her fathers colleagues, she wanted to make new friends and start the new chapter in her life at Hogwarts, the best wizarding school according to her father and second best according to her mother.

Her parents took each of her hands, her father grabbing the two bags she had and they apparated. They told Anna what it would feel like, but the suffocating feeling still surprised her, but as quickly as it came, it disappeared. They came out of an alleyway and mingled with the few Muggles that were going on about their day. They could have taken the cab, but Anna insisted that the day had to start with magic. They arrived at the station and Anna looked around for platform 9³/₄ , as she spotted it she let go of her parents hands and ran through it. And just like that she was standing in front of Hogwarts Express. The crimson beast was quiet with just a bit of steam around it, it was an hour before departure, and there weren’t many families around. “Anna, don’t run away like that”, her mom scolded her when she appeared behind her. “Really, I don’t see the appeal, a carriage pulled by Abraxan horses is much more appropriate”. “Of course dear, but there is some charm to the train as well. The food cart for example”, Aiden side hugged Madeline and kissed the top of her head. Anna finally turned around, hugged her parents and grabbed her bags. “Bye mama, bye papa, I’ll write tonight and send the owl tomorrow”. She was ready to bolt onto the train, but her dad stopped her. “Wait, wait. Are you sure you have everything? And do you remember what I told you?”. “Yes and yes, I’m going to be fine, we’ll see each other for Christmas, bye bye now!”. And she was off. Madeline wiped her eyes and Aiden hugged her closer. “She’ll be fine, you know how smart she is”. “I know, but she just grew up too quickly”.

As for Anna, she trudged through the empty train and picked an empty compartment somewhere in front. She put away her trunk and set her bag on the seat next to her. She bounced up and down a few times on the seat and then realized that she’d have to wait a bit for other witches and wizards to arrive. She sighed a bit then shrugged and pulled out a book from her bag. It was ‘A History of Magic’, she read all the books she bought for school, or at least skimmed through them. This one was very interesting so she decided to read it until someone arrives.

Pandora took one last look at her mother and siblings. A great adventure awaited her and it was unlike anything she had read or imagined.

She could not believe that the fairy tales her mother told were true, and she would now attend the school where her mother attended.

She couldn't sleep yesterday from excitement, so she played the piano. And now she was at the train station.

"Honey you never spoke. What's happen?"

"Mom, my old sister is just doing drama, it was her 'biggest' dream to go to such a school, remember?"

It was her brother Sam who said it. Saying this broke Pandora. She knew that her brother was jealous, but it still hurt her.

"Oh, come on Sam. Your sister's a little excited, that's all. Going to Hogwarts is every witch's dream of her age. Don't worry, you'll both be gone in three years."

When it was time to go, Pandora silently said goodbye to her family and started walking towards the train with her suitcase and arrow.

The train was crowded. Pandora found a compartment with only one person and sat down. She looked at the girl over there with joy.

"I'm sorry I sat down without asking. I hope you don't mind if I sit down."

It was getting really boring sitting alone in her compartment, so Anna decided to put the book down and actually look around properly. Looking out the window, there were so many more people than before, and it was noisier as well. Anna smiled and leaned back into the soft plush seats. The seats were a deep red that played nicely with the deep brown of the wood. Anna loved playing around with colors so she pulled out her sketchbook and flipped through some pages trying to find the right one. As she finally found it she immersed herself into it, comparing her own art, with what she saw outside and inside the compartment. Anna was so engrossed in her sketchbook, she barely registered the door opening. She finally realized that someone entered the compartment as a girl with brown hair settled next to her. "I'm sorry I sat down without asking. I hope you don't mind if I sit down.", the girl was joyful. Anna grinned widely, she met her first, hopefully, friend. “It’s alright”, she beamed, “I’m Anna Blackrose, it is a pleasure to meet you”, She thrusted her hand out. “I’m just so excited to finally become a real witch, aren’t you?”.

When Padora heard her assent, she cheerfully put her suitcase and arrow up. She hugged her bag tightly. She smirked as she saw her extending her hand.

"Hi Anna. I'm Pandora Smith. Being a witch... Normally I would read witches as green gargoyles with big noses. But we're here and I'm
I don't know what to feel. "

She shook Anna's outstretched hand. She wasn't normally like that, but Pandora didn't know how to feel, she had grown up with her mother's stories and didn't believe most of them, and now she was going there

As she thought about this, she had just realized that she was looking out the window. She snapped out of her thoughts and turned to Anna.

"Which house do you think you'll be in? I think I'll either be Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. How do you think the election ceremony will be, as I remember from what my mother told us, they would put an old hat on our heads and it would determine which house we were in."

Again, Pandora realized that she was talking too much and stopped. Sometimes she couldn't control herself when she got excited.

She took a book out of her bag and began to read. She wondered if there were shadows in real life. She turned to Anna.

"Are there shadows in the wizarding world that feed on strange children? Or strange children?"

As the young girl, Pandora, shook her hand, Anna smiled gently. The girl looked very kind with her big brown eyes and cheeriness. Anna hoped that they would become fast friends. As Pandora put away her things Anna saw an arrow quiver. ‘Huh, she must know how to shoot arrows then. Cool!’, Anna thought.

She realized she was thinking for too long and snapped back to reality. Pandora was ranting about the houses and the, Sorting Hat? Anna recalled that was the name her father used when she asked him about Hogwort’s sorting ceremony. As Anna was about to reply Pandora stopped talking and rummaged through her bag pulling out a book. Anna’s eyes lit up, A very kind girl and she loves reading. If they don’t become friends she would be very disappointed.

Then Pandora mentioned something strange. Shadows that feed on children. “Well as for the old hat you mentioned, it’s called the Sorting Hat, or at least my father calls it that. And I think Ravenclaw would suit me the best, but I’m not opposed to Slytherin either”. Anna combed through her hair a few times. “About those shadows, I think there are some, guarding a wizarding prison I think. I don’t remember what they are called, but I’m sure they don’t attack children. And if they did the Ministry would stop them, my papa is an Auror you know. And he’s the best there is”, she grinned proudly.

"I think I'm either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. Brave like a warrior but wise like an elf."

When she spoke like that, she saw himself on the couch. She was too carried away. With a little apprehension when she heard you answered her question:

"Are witches and wizards seen as strange children? I mean, is there anyone who can make fire from her hand as much as they wants, rather than cast spells with a wand? And what does an auror mean? like the police. If she's like her, then what you're talking about is my mother's profession."

Thinking she was exaggerating, she continued to read the book in her hand. At least she thought it was good that she didn't have what she expected. As she reads the book, she sees her head slowly leaning against the glass. She came to herself and lifted her head from the window.

"What are your hobbies? Do you have any siblings?"

Just as he was saying these, a car that he thought was colored candy appeared at the door. The old woman looked at the two of them.

"I think I'll get one of those colorful bean-tasting boxes and chocolate frogs. Will you buy something.

Anna relaxed back into the plush seat and smoothed her robes. Pandora spoke about her mother, who was also an Auror, and how witches can be seen as strange children. Then she shrunk back and continued reading her book. ‘Huh she must be shy. She’s really interesting tho’, Anna thought. In a moment Pandora’s head was resting on the window, and Anna decided to stay quiet and read her book as well. But then the girl jerked away from the window and asked Anna about her hobbies and siblings.

“ Oh I just love anything that has to do with art. Writing, painting, drawing, I also like reading and taking care of flowers with my grandfather”. She straightened up again. “I don’t have any siblings, do you?”

Anna heard a noise so she turned around and saw an older lady pushing a candy cart. Her heart soared at the site of so much sweetness. "I think I'll get one of those colorful bean-tasting boxes and chocolate frogs. Will you buy something.”, Pandora turned to her. Anna grinned, she wanted to scream out but composed herself and just said: ”Of course, I love sweets”.

Pandora saw Anna buy something she thought was sugary. She opened the bean package. She closed her eyes and took one and popped it in her mouth.

"WHY IS THIS SO BİTTER? MY THROAT BURNED."

She spit out the crushed bean in her mouth into her hand. It was red in color. She knew what it was. She took her water from her bag and drank an entire bottle. When Pandora came to herself, she remembered that she had just shouted very loudly. Everyone on the train might have heard of it, Pandora thought. She smiled and handed the box to Anna.

"Would you like to try your luck? Maybe something good will come out."

The bitter taste in her mouth was gone now. She happily opened the box of chocolate frogs she had always wondered about. The chocolate inside caught the frog and looked at which card came out. She was a wizard whose name she could not pronounce. The chocolate split the frog and handed a piece to Amma.

"Would you like?"

Since she had siblings, she shared almost everything. Sam always gave him a bigger piece than her sister and herself because he wanted even bigger. She smiled when she thought about it.

OOC Note:

Anna swung her legs back and forth on her seat, enjoying a strawberry flavoured bean, when Pandora shouted in pain. Anna jumped up and stared at the girl. She spat out a red bean, and fanned her mouth. “Oh you got one of the bad ones huh”, Anna grimaced, but Pandora didn’t seem to hear her as tears weld up in her eyes. She pulled out a water bottle out of her bag and gulped it all down.

Now a bit calmer she offered the bag to Anna. She contemplated whether to try her luck again or not, but ended up pulling out a green one. Anna popped it into her mouth and stuck out her tongue in the next moment. “It’s grass”, Anna continued chewing, it wasn’t that bad, just a tad bit unpleasant. Then Pandora picked up a chocolate frog. And Anna decided to do the same.

“Oh I got Morgana le Fay. I already have her, would you like to have it?”. Anna offered the card at the same time as Pandora offered her a piece of chocolate frog. Anna giggled and took the offer. Happily eating the chocolate she stared out the window, all that she could see were green plains. They have been traveling for a while now. She turned at Pandora and smiled. ‘I think I made my first friend’.

Pandora couldn't help but laugh when she saw the expression on Anna's face when she ate the grass-flavored bean. She had never tasted grass in that sense.

"It must be disgusting."

She handed Anna water to get rid of that taste. She had everything in her bag. So it didn't take long for her to find the second water. Ok her face didn't look that bad but she held out.

"I have never eaten. One of the wizard candies? Or is it one of those desserts suited to where you come from?"

She looked at Anna with curious eyes. She thought she looked too curious. When Anna saw that she was starting to look out, Pandora continued to read the book she had with her. She was already dreaming while reading the book.

"My mother said that wizard books and pictures can move, can the same be done for Muggle reading books?"

Look at your book again. She tried to think as the pictures in the book moved. She thought maybe it would be better. She felt tired. She put down her book again and leaned against the window with a tired voice.

"When do you think we'll come? Are we going to get dressed there?"
