All The Stars Are Closer
@Karrie Myers
"HmmmmmmmHmmmHmmHmHm," Edward hummed a sweet tune as he walked through the halls of the enchanting castle known as Hogwarts. Edward walked down the crack-stone stairs that glided across the long height of castle below in order to allow the student to walk across with ease. He snuck quietly out of his dorm moments ago to enjoy the stars that sat waiting for him just out the doors. Edward's brunette hair hung loosely in front of his eyes still short in the back, having grown a little bit... Edward's mismatching-sock-covered feet only made the slightest pitter-patter on the cold slabs of the darkened floors, he made sure not to step on any cracks hopping here and there. Edward smiled peacefully once he got to the last entrance that revealed the infinite canvas of everlasting blue and sweet little freckles of light. Underneath his arm he held a small knit blanket that his mother had made for him when he was only a wee babe, every stitch was made wit love, hours of aching fingers and warm fireplaces. Saying that he missed his mother or was homesick was an understatement, Edward greatly wanted to be with his mother, the letters they sent to one another was not enough.... But, a the cool November breeze through the castle hitting him making him shiver, Edward avoided the constant urge to itch his left cheek that was bandaged due to Edward scraping it whilst playing. Edward made his way across the courtyard, he barely looked down due to the fear the stars would not be there if he looked away. He smiled revealing the small gap in between his two large front teeth, strange yet charming. To say in the least Edward was just as peculiar as his name, Edward Sam Edwards, though he may have looked normal, with his tall height, thin-toned frame, sun-kissed skin, dark curious eyes, and random assortment of freckles; Edward was no where close to normal, he always found a strange adventure to whisked away on, using only his mind as a tool. Edward adjusted his orange beanie before laying down the blue knit blanket upon the crisp fall grass, Edward knew that soon it would be too cold to go out at night, Edward had to take the chance before it was gone. After fixing the stubborn edges of the blanket Edward laid upon it, back down as too look at the soft-spoken skies. The skies were underrated, and it seemed the more Edward looked more stars appeared as if they only wanted to be found, to be seen. Edward smiled letting his dark starry eyes scan the beautiful blessing. It felt like paradise to the Huff Puff Boy, though his nose turned red from the cold and he only wore his dark blue pajamas with a yellow striped sweater to warm him. It reminded him of him but it also reminded him of the infinite Adventures that lay ahead... The unsymmetrical sky reminded him that it was okay to be imperfect, that people could still love you anyway for what you are, quirks and all. Edward let the cool crisp air fill his lungs, it felt like he could finally breath as he let his hands rest on top of one another upon his belly. He believed that every star that came along in your life, even just the little interaction with a complete stranger such as passing them by whilst walking, was meant to be there even if it was for no reason at all, they all were meant to be in those random small moments. Soon another star would come along, one that Edward knew as a kind face....
Some people just need a high-five... In the face ... With a chair...
