It was Saturday, August the sixth and my dad, my brother, and I had come to Diagonal Alley to do our shopping for the upcoming school year at Hogwarts. We had exchanged our pounds for some galleons back at Gringotts after which we went shopping for new robes, books, potion supplies, and a new wand in Matthew’s case. In the mean time, my dad and I went to the shop called Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes where we looked at all sorts of joke items. The first one we came up to was the dungbomb. “Horrid smell guaranteed.” My dad said as he read the description. “I bet it smells like the inside of an unkept honeybucket or public toilet when used, what’d you reckon?” “I think it smells like that too and I expect that the smell doesn’t go away for a few hours unless you use some sort of spell on it.” My dad burst out laughing and said “If that’s the… the case… then imagine if… imagine if you accidentally set them off.” The idea amused me and I too, began laughing. “Oh, I’d… I’d be swearing so much.”Permission to Godmod in the manner done so given by André Lebedev.
Half a minute later, our laughter had fully died down and we were both looking around the store, both in a very cheery mood. “Say, wanna take a look at those extendable ears?” My dad offered, pointing across from us. I said “Sure dad.” and we went over to them where I picked up a box to of extendable ears to examine it. “Fun fact:” my dad started, “when I was in here last year, one of the shop owners, George I think was his name, told me quite a bit about them and how he and his now deceased twin came up with them.” “He has a dead twin? Well that must’ve sucked. It says here that these extendable ears were made by Fred and George Weasley so Fred must’ve been his twin. Anyways, I have a question, d’you think these can be used on staffroom to eavesdrop on the professors or do you think it’s has too many enchantments on it? Personally, I think they can be, but what about you?” “I’ma go with too many enchantments.” My dad said. “Say what do you think boy?” He asked the boy right beside us who looked like he was there with his dad just like me. The boy looked around startled, and seeing his look of surprise, my dad said “Do you think these Extendeble Ears can be used to on the staffroom at Hogwarts or do you think that the staffroom has too many enchantments on it?” “I think they can but my dad thinks they can’t. He went to Hogwarts as a kid so he’s probably right, but what do you think?” That was a lie, my dad never went to Hogwarts since he was a muggle, but the kid didn’t need to know that.

They were almost done shopping for all the items he would need for school. Andros or as André called him, dad stopped abruptly in front of a store. As André was looking at his shopping list he bumped into his dad. "Why'd you stop?" he asked.
His dad looked at him, "Let us go to this store, could be fun" He smiled, André looked at the name of the shop. Weasley's Wizard Wheezes... 'Is this some kind of joke shop?' He thought to himself. "I mean- it can't hurt to look right?" in all honesty he was wanting to go into the store. Not that he would use anything to break rules, nope. Just general curiosity, there could be some candy in there. You can't go wrong with candy.
As soon as the entered the store André knew he had to get something. The shop had many cool items, like this candy that makes you look sick. Andros looked at the label of the box. "your mother would end me" He laughed. André laughed to, as his dad was probably right.
André was focused on the box of sweets and his dad that was the main reason he was so started when he herd someone ask him a question. It was a man and his son. Like André and his dad. The !an must have saw the stunned look on his face and repeated the question.
"I.. Umm maybe?" he gave a quick answer still a but unsure of what they were asking. Andros picked up a box of the so called extendable ears; and read the box. "I think the staff, would notice ears in there room" his dad gave his own thoughts. He looked at the box and nodded. No that he knew what was asked, "they probably could get in but as my dad said the professors would probably notice. But I don't know about any enchantments, I haven't been to hogwarts yet" André told them, now his own thoughts on the matter.

“I…Umm maybe?” The boy asked before picking up a box of the extendable ears. The man who seemed to be the boy’s dad added “I think the staff, would notice ears in there room.” The boy seemed to have finished reading the description on the box because went on to say “They probably could get in but as my dad said, the professors would probably notice. But I don't know about any enchantments, I haven't been to Hogwarts yet.” “Oh, the staff probably wouldn’t notice since the ears would be outside of the room.” My dad started. “The reason for this is because you place the ears right outside the door and listen through the listening device on the other end which I why I think there are enchantments placed on the door to prevent the ears from working. And now that you’ve mentioned it, I haven’t been to Hogwarts either, and neither has Matthew.” “Yeah, mom and dad are both muggles but we like to pretend that they’re witches and wizards, just like my Matthew and I. Matthew is my younger brother by the way, I’m David although you can call me Dave, and that’s my dad…” “Patrick Howard.” My dad finished for me as I put down the box of extendable ears I was holding. “I’m going into my second year now but Matt’s just going into his first so he’s out getting his wand from Ollivanders, and dad and I are here killing time while he does it. Now you’ve mentioned that you haven’t gone to Hogwarts yet so would I be correct to assume that you’re a first year too? Or are you a transfer from another school?” Hopefully, they were nothing like my mother who would think that dad and I were talking to much if she was on the receiving end instead of the boy and his dad.Dave - #cd0a2f
