DHAMPIR

At the young age of seventeen, Gwyndolin Ayers, had the unfortunate luck of crossing paths with a vicious and lustful Vampyre. After that night, details became fuzzy and Gwyndolin claimed to not remember any specifics except the nature of the being that assaulted her. She was proved truthful when, months later, she bore forth a Vampyre half-breed with bright Scottish hair and tiny Dhampir fangs.

The young girl, owing much to her Scottish blood, looks much like a normal human. Her vivid red hair comes from her mother. Yet her father gifted her with pale skin, thankfully also common with Scotts, and sharp fangs. Common to Dhampirs as well, Adelaide's eyes change color due to moods or hunger, though they are usually a shade of amber. This, however, caused more issues in her younger years. As half Vampyre Adelaide ages much slower than a human. She has a life span of about two hundred, according to most recent research. Yet, Adelaide strives to be as normal as possible. While she does not reject her true nature, she does not embrace it and instead hides it from the vast majority of the outside world. There are only few, including her mother, grandparents, and the Ministry of Magic, who are aware of her condition.

CHILDHOOD

1971-1982

Adelaide was raised mostly by her grandparents, the adoptive parents of Gwyndolin. The Ayers were of English decent, but raised their daughter and granddaughter in Montpelier, France. Despite Gwyndolin coming of legal age just a year after Adelaide was born, she stayed under the care of the older couple until she ran off without a trace at twenty seven, when her daughter was just ten. Gwyndolin and Adelaide, although both aware of their relationship, treated each other more as sisters. Gwyndolin would often look after Adelaide, but at the same time would turn around and tease her. Her grandparents were stern to Gwyndolin, unsure how to curb her strange personality, but they were sweet and soft with Adelaide, with whom they hoped to raise into a kind and gentle woman.

BEAUXBATONS

1982-1989

At age eleven, Adelaide received her acceptance letter to the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. Here she spent the next many years learning the arts of magic. She thrived in Transfiguration and gained a huge interest in Runes. Her time at Beauxbatons was bearable, but difficult. Throughout her entire time there she constantly looked much younger than her same aged peers. At her entrance at eleven she looked seven, and at her graduation at eighteen she looked fifteen. Because of this condition many of her peers at Beauxbatons figured out for themselves about her Vampyre blood, no matter how hard she attempted to conceal it. She also had few friends and absolutely no love interests. She devoted a lot of her time to learned multiple langauges. She left academy behind her with a neutral opinion of the school. She was more looking forward to her life on her own.

FRANCE

1989-1994

During her last few years at Beauxbatons, Adelaide's grandparen'ts health began to decline. The pair had always been madly in love and had decided many years before that they would die together. They created a bit of magic that, when one died, the other would die peacefully at the same time. Although Adelaide argued many times against this, by this time in their lives, she had accepted their wishes. So, aware that their demise was quickly approaching, she decided to return home until they passed. While in France she got a job at the local magical library as a librarian. Here she continued her studies on Ancient Runes using the near unlimited material at her disposal. It was not long before the young girl became anxious. She felt as if she did not belong in Montipelier, even though she had lived there her whole life. She wished, very badly, to move on, but convinced herself to stay for her grandparents. The people who, after all, cared for her when they did not have to. After four years her grandparents finally passed and she took another year to put their affairs in order. She left quickly.

ITALY

1994-1998

GERMANY

1998-2004

During her time in Germany, Adelaide worked at a private Muggle school, teaching a variety of Language classes to young Muggles. Here she even discovered a young Muggle Born witch. Adelaide took it upon herself to teach the young girl about the wizarding world, after she prematurely introduced it to her and her parents. Once the girl turned eleven, two years later, Adelaide saw her off to Beauxbatons, and then left Germany behind her.

SPAIN

2004-2013

While in Spain, Adelaide took on a few different interests. She worked in Madrid at the capitals Owlery where she directed letters to and from Spain's Ministry as well as caring, somewhat, for the birds themselves. However she also took an internship underneath an older wizard who wrote about and researched the history of the wizarding world. Most of his work during this time had to deal with the Second Wizarding War that occurred less than ten years prior. However, some work delt with the history of Ancient Runes, a project that the wizard allowed Adelaide almost free range in. She ended up co-writing the book, Runes During the 17th Century, along with her Boss.

ENGLAND

2013-2018

Her co-authorship of the book Runes of the 17th Century while in Spain, landed Adelaide a research position at the Ministry of Magic in London. Here, she had access to numerous departments and research aids. During this time of plentiful information she managed go track down her blood family, the parents and siblings of her mother. However, she learned that the only members left alive of that branch of the MacDougal family, were a blood aunt and her husband. Nevertheless, Adelaide corresponded with them, and gained a decent friendship with the pair over Owl. She also gained another realationship because of the Ministry. She met a young man who worked in the Department of Accidents and Correction. The pair quickly fell for each other and after a couple of years of dating, Adelaide became pregnant. She bore him redheaded twin boys whom the pair loved dearly. Yet the commitment of children and, practically, a husband, quickly became too much. And, when her boys were just over one year old, she ran away.

SCOTLAND

2018-Present

After fleeing England, she arrived in Scotland to meet her blood family. Her blood Aunt, Gwyndolin's sister, allowed her to live with them until she found her own place, as well as to get to know the niece she never knew existed. From there Adelaide just happened upon the Hogwarts Professor of Ancient Runes position and was encouraged by her Uncle to apply for the position. Since her acceptance she moved to Hogwarts where she is presently living and teaching.

At age eleven, Adelaide accompanied her grandparents to Gregorovitch Zauberstäbe, the store of famous wandmaker Mykew Gregorovitch. Here, after five tries, her wand chose her. The young witch already had an interest in Transfiguration, and it appeared, according to Gregorovitch, the wand held such an interest as well. The two were made for each other and since their pairing, Adelaide has taken precious care of the wand. Many times it has come into harms way, but Adelaide never fails to protect it from danger.

PATRONUS

Adelaide discovered her Patronus during her time at Beauxbatons. She was almost surprised to discover a Fox protecting her. Though, since then, she had grown quite a fondness for foxes and considers them her own personal symbol. Often drawing them on her notebooks at school or seeing them as her spirit animal.
