Purrfect & Mischievous
Agnes was dying to get a new pet, but her father was always busy with his dragon studies. One day, when her father wasn't busy, she decided to take the first step. "Excuse me father, may I ask a question? It will only take but a moment." With a small nod he said "But of course dearest, what seems to be the trouble?" "I was wondering I we could stop by Magical Menagerie's to purchase a pet, preferably a cat?" "Well sure! It is your first year in Hogwarts after all! Let us make our way to the shop immediately!" A large grin of joy and relief spread across Agnes's dimpled face.
Well, we're here! Are you excited?" "Extremely!" Agnes had been waiting for this moment for years, and now it was happening! Agnes and her father entered the shop, their eyes full of wonder. Owls with the softest of feathers, pigmy puffs with their adorable trilling, and cats. Agnes's favorite animal in the ENTIRE universe. Her father caught a glimpse of who seemed to be the owner of the shop due to her formal attire. "Ahem, excuse me miss?" The lady quickly swirled around in a funny motion. She took a moment to realign her glass and began to speak. "Ah yes, welcome to Magical Menagerie, a shop full of unique and beautiful creatures for all children to enjoy! What can I do for you today?" Agnes felt a flood of joy burst inside her, smiling as she answered the kind lady's question. Well m'lady, I would like to purchase a cat if you don't mind." The lady whose name tag read "Ms. Everharp" smiled "So it's a cat your looking for? Alrighty, follow me, miss!"
Following Ms. Everharp Agnes's eyes targeted the cat section called " Fantastic Felines," a large pen filled with so many cats that Agnes lost count twice! " Now, which one would you like hmm?" Agnes had to remember the breed of the cat she had written on her bucket list. Now I remember! Do you have any Egyptian Maus? Ms. Everharp pointed her jeweled finger toward the middle section. Agnes took a few steps and admired the felines. She then noticed a cat messing with one of the books on the counter. She felt connected to this mischievous feline with cloud-grey fur with dark coal speckles. " I would like to purchase that one please." Ah, I figured you'd like one of the youngsters! Ms. Everharp remarked. She walked over to the cat Agnes requested and carried it gently, like a baby. "Now this here, is a girl. She's quite young and curious. I think you'll like her. What do you wish to call her? Without question, Agnes responded with eagerness in her tone. "Nephele." "Wonderful! now follow me to the front counter for the transaction."
After paying and giving thanks to Ms. Everharp, Agnes and her father returned home with Nephele playing with her hair cradled in her arms.
