Eight Legged friend
Kierce sighed, now that he was alone in the wizarding world with nothing but some as he said "Weird Euros with no advice, a shopping list, and a weirdly excited disposition. Okay exited may be a long shot, he was happy but as always his anxiety kept popping up in random bursts of I'm Nothing like everyone else here. Or what if everyone's better than me or thinks I'm an idiot for not knowing random wizarding facts? All his stuff had been bought at this point and he realized he still had another twenty gold pieces left.
"wonder what I can get for this" he muttered.
In the moment Kierce was in front of The Magical Menagerie whatever that was. Might as well see what they have I guess. I mean no harm no fowl and they might have books! After that thought he imagined that maybe they had even more (maybe cheaper) books.
He slowly walked inside to the small shop. His ears were immediately attacked by the screeching of owls, the squeak of rats, and a few sounds Kierce didn't even know existed. Wait wizards can have pets? Can they even keep them at school? he walked to the counter his head was down, he was never good with people or trying to start a conversation. " Ma'am are kids allowed to have pets at hogwarts?" he asked his voice was sickly sweet which is how he always spoke to adults (He despised this but it was just his personality) The old woman at the counter smiled "Oh dear, kids take their pets to hogwarts all the time! They help with the stress of life in the castle" Kierce smiled as "Well in that case do you have anything I can buy for these twenty golden pieces that's easy to take care of for a new time pet owner?" She walked him to an area that had cats, lizards, rats, and tarantulas. "These are the ones new students usually get and they are great pets in general." He walked around and stopped near the cats they were cute but Kierce didn't really like cats that much. Then he walked by the lizards he liked lizards but they required space and he didn't really know how to take care of them. He loved the little rats they were adorable but then again what would I do with a rat especially since most people hated rats which wouldn't help him fit in. Then he stopped by the tarantulas, he loved arachnids they fascinated him with how they moved and their behaviors, they just seemed like something out of a fantasy novel! "You think one of these would he easy to take care of?" He seemed to bounce up and down like a little kid just speaking about the tarantulas. "These ones are relatively easy to take care of these European Hairy Trappers and they get attached to their owners and even like to use their hair as a nest sometimes." Kierce instantaneously responded with "Can I meet one of them?" the old woman opened the cage and carefully pulled outa tarantula she handed it over to kierce who immediately loved the thing! "Which one has been here longest out of all of them?" he asked. The old woman smiled with sympathy and with some gloves carefully took out one of the tarantulas which immediately gave a threat pose.
The shop keeper gave him a glove and told him that this specific tarantula dislikes many people and that she seems to only like people who aren't interested in a tarantula "Its a pity not many people like tarantulas if they were more popular she probably might have been chosen a long time ago." kierce put on the glove and took the spider in his hand the tarantula didn't really react until it slowly crawled up his arm and onto his head. Kierce didn't want to move he was just happy the thing hadn't bitten him or even gave him a threat pose. He also found it weird that the spiders colorattion seemed nearly identicalto his own hony blonde hair other than the spiders black and brown spots."She's likes you that's a shocker!" He just slowly turned to her and smiled.
After he paid he walked out with his new best friend, who was now being called, Cyprus. A fitting name for the tarantula.
