To Sophia
Today was a nice day. Just the perfect day to just randomly send an owl to a first year and see how they react. Her chosen target was a first year Ravenclaw, named Sophia Fan. Oho, it was going to be fun. She grabbed some parchment and paper and got started writing her letter:
@Sophia Fan
There. Gwen finished up her letter and took an owl out of a cage. She placed the letter in it's claws and watched as if flew around to the Ravenclaw tower.Dear my friend, Sophia. I have heard you are a new first year, and I would like to welcome you, since that is just how nice Slytherin second years work. Congratulations on being chosen! You are quite safe, I assure you. Totally. What blood are you? I'm a half blood.
By the way, I'm Guinevere Russetwood, but call me Gwen. I've been told by many that 'Guinevere' is a big mouthful. Is it?
I'm probably being very chatty right now. I usually am not, I assure you. Anyways, have a nice day and I hope you don't die after having your first Potions class! And Astronomy, too. Classes here are terribly hard. Shall we meet up in person sometime? I have a seldom few friends here, and the ones I do have- we don't hang out often.
untill we meet,

Sophia just woke up. She sits up from the comfortable bed in the Ravenclaw girl's dormitory. What a nice day! It's her second day at Hogwarts, the professors seem to be nicer than the muggle world. Her eyes turn to the antiquated but gorgeous window with marble and gemstone.
Suddenly, a big brown owl flew like a flash to the window and landed on the windowsill. It closed its wide wings and start preening elegantly. Sophia gasped. After she calm down (which take 10 sec), she discovered that there is a piece of parchment tied to the bird's claw. She cautiously moves forward to the owl and removes the letter. The owl seems accustomed to this. Sophia unfolded the parchment and read the letter closely.
Isn't Slytherins mean? Why a second-year will owl her just to say hello? Sophia checked the time find there was still time for a letter. With great curiosity, she pull out a piece of parchment and a quill, dip a bit of ink and wrote in her beautiful hand writing:
After that, Sof folded the parchment and tied it back onto the owl's leg. Maybe she will really be friends with a Slytherin, Sof thought. When she wants to tell the owl where to go, the owl kicked off the windowsill and flew away without looking back. She looked behind the disappeared shadow of the bird. Does it know where to go? Is all the owl that smart in the wizarding world?Dear Gwen,
Hi! Thanks for welcoming me! I hope you had a nice day too! I'm a muggle-born. (You dare call me mud-blood). We could meet in person. But please meet me at only entrance hall. Since I'm new to Hogwarts, I'm not really familiar with those moving staircasesWhy I will probably die in potions and astronomy? Are the classes hard as you said? Professors too strict? Or it's super boring? Owl me back or looking forward to meet you in person.
Sof F
Ps: Don't call me Sophia, I hate people calling me by my real nameCall me Sof.

Gwen was already in her common room by the time the owl had arrived. In it's claws was a letter, and Gwen wondered if it was that Ravenclaw first year Sophia's response. To her great delight, it was. Jumping up from an armchair, she got our a fresh sheet of parchment and wrote:
@Sophia Fan
She tied the letter to the owl's claw, like last time, and sent it off into the sky.That was a fast reply! And no problem! I won't call you mudblood if you don't want to, since it isn't really logical- how would you get mud in your blood??
Entrance hall works fine for me! We could meet later, at lunch, since the Slytherin and Ravenclaw tables are quite close to each other, anyways. You'll get used to them soon enough. They were confusing to me when I was a first year, too! Lots of times, I got lost trying to find my way to classes.
Oh, so you've not had potions or astronomy yet. The homework is incredibly hard, for both subjects. And astronomy- it's fun, but you'll have to have classes at midnight or so, since you can't see stars in broad daylight, of course. not really, though. The professors are actually quite nice. Sometimes, some classes are boring, but usually they're fine, I suppose.
Until we meet, Sof!

Sophia was in the great hall eating lunch when an owl arrived. It bumped on to the gold glass and the pumpkin juice spilled. It's the same owl as last time Gwen had sent her. She wonders if it's the reply. But it's far too quick, isn't it? But to her surprise, it is.
She suddenly felt a strange excitement after reading the letter. Sof wolfed down, then grabbed her bag so hard that the whole bench moved and rubbed against the floor with a harsh noise reverberating in the great hall. Everyone in the hall ended up looking at her. Sof blushed. She quickly moved away from the Ravenclaw table and quickly ran towards the entrance hall.
She ran so fast that the wind blew in her ears and make huge sounds. That's the first time Sof has been that happy in her life. When she run, she thought about her life before Hogwarts. It's boring. Her parents loved her so much. But even though they loved her, they still don't have time to accompany Sophia much to her growing process. Sof knows, that her parents are trying to let the family have a better life. But she can't help being downcast when her parents say: "Going to work! Bye honey!"
But now, she finally got an acquaintance friend in this new, amazing, but lonely (for Sof) world! And they are gonna meet.
As she think so deeply during running, she didn't realize she was already reaching the marble staircase of the entrance hall...
