Jein Ann is a Korean girl who has a slim build. She is a few inches shorter than children her age, and she often gets mistaken for a boy because of her short hair and low voice. Her upturned eyes are the same color as her straight hair, which is a dark shade of golden brown. In contrast her skin tone is very pale. Her overall appearance gives people the impression of a small cat. She is often seen wearing her favorite beige muffler, clearly too big for her.

Jein appears to be quiet and timid at times, especially to people who she isn’t close to. She isn’t very good at making friends and pushes people away when approached abruptly. But overall she has an amicable and fun personality when she gets close to someone, which surprises people because it doesn’t really fit her cold default face.
She also has a dark sense of humor, sometimes surprising those around her with her harmless jokes and earning warning glances from her parents.
Her greatest fear is water and she doesn’t want to be involved in any activity that concerns getting in a big pool of water, whether it’s a small indoor swimming pool or a shallow ocean. She finds comfort when she’s listening to music while drinking peppermint tea, which is her favorite thing to do on the weekends. Jein loves music and is always clutching her guitar whenever she has free time. She likes to introduce muggle songs to her friends.

Jein Ann was born on the 13th of January, 2011, in Bristol and grew up there. Although she was born in England, she became fluent in the Korean language first because of her parents. Her parents who were both Korean had moved to England after their marriage. Her mum, who is a business consultant works all over the world and is often not home. Whereas her dad works as a jazz musician with his guitar.
She had always looked up to her dad and his performances, secretly wishing that she could become like him when she grows up. When she became the age of 8, she started learning the guitar and her passion for music grew more than ever. She also liked writing tunes with her dad on weekdays, practicing her vocals on weekends when her dad was out performing.
In school, she didn’t fit in well mostly because she was always sitting alone with her headphones on. A random girl tried to engage with her at the first week of the semester, but she ended up crying because Jein glared at her for interrupting the song she was listening to.
A few years later when the Hogwarts letter was delivered and someone was standing at her front door to explain it, to say her parents were shocked was an understatement. Jein herself was hesitant at first because she had wanted to pursue a musical career. After an hour or two of persuasion, she decided to try out new experiences. From there she bid goodbye and set off to her new school in search for another adventure.

First instance of magic: When Jein was seven years old, she got pushed into a rapid current while she was playing in the water. As she hadn’t learned how to swim properly, she was terrified. Somehow after a few moments she managed to get of the river. Drenched in water and shivering, she couldn’t move an inch because of the numbing cold. All of a sudden, her tiny scarf enlarged itself to become a large piece of a blanket-like muffler. Jein couldn’t explain how that happened, but regardless she wrapped it around herself and ran home.
