(Gwin-eh-veer Bwih-yuh/ Bwee-yuh) was born in Birmingham, England, despite her family's Welsh heritage. She is the daughter of Siân Bwye and a father whose name she never knew due to her mother's shame at her partner's muggle-born heritage. After her birth, Guinevere's mother left with her in secret and the pair moved to a small town in Wales, St. Asaph.

Since she was old enough to talk, the one truth of her life was perfection. Guinevere never left a mess, her hair was always immaculate, and her clothes were always well-kept. At the smallest sign of a flaw, her mother would become quite displeased, and Guinevere would find herself alone inside for hours, copying one of the many books in their collection to parchment.

As she grew, Guinevere became an even-tempered, disciplined young lady. She always cleaned up after herself, maintained her appearance flawlessly, and rarely even considered raising her voice. Living in such a small town, the girl was always quite lonely, but she never expressed any displeasure toward her lot in life. She was supposed to be a perfect young lady, and that included silently appreciating the life one had.

Despite her many maternal cousins who would visit from other parts of Wales or even England, Guinevere never truly felt that she had a friend for most of her childhood. She would spend most of her time reading the various books in their small library, but even that was quite boring when she'd been forced to copy many of them to parchment as punishment over the years. Eventually, it got to the point that she found herself browsing the library and desperately searching for any unfamiliar book that she could read for leisure.

Even with such harsh punishments, Siân was never truly cruel to her beloved daughter, though. She would often bring home toys as rewards when Guinevere was particularly well-behaved, and the young girl was very thankful for them. She cherished every toy her mother ever gave her, but her favorite was a small handmade doll named Anya with button eyes and black hair.

But Guinevere's life wasn't as simple as cleaning and maintaining her appearance. Siân kept a very strict home-schooling curriculum for her daughter, teaching her all of the basic maths, literature, the Welsh language, and even a bit of muggle history when the girl kept asking questions during the Welsh lessons. She even taught her daughter a bit of theoretical magical knowledge, but there was obviously no hands-on practice.

While her life was certainly not a bad one, though, Guinevere found that it was still dreadfully boring. It wasn't until she was nine years old that she realized what she was missing: a non-familial friend.

Aidan was a young muggle boy in St. Asaph, and Siân was more than happy with Guinevere befriending the boy. After all, if she had a social slip up in front of Aidan, it wouldn't reflect upon them in the magical community. After being drilled with the importance of secrecy, Guinevere was finally allowed to play with the boy, but her mother was careful to inspect her upon leaving and returning home to ensure she was just as pristine at the end of the day as in the morning.

The two spent an entire summer as the best of friends. They ran in the forest, Aidan climbed trees while she watched, and they even shared their toys with each other. It was even from Aidan that Guinevere learned that she loved to be called 'Gwyn' instead of 'Guinevere' from her friends and loved ones, and Gwyn knew that she had made a friend for life.

Unfortunately, things didn't always work out as they should.

After a particularly rainy day, Gwyn and Aidan found themselves running in the forest as they often did, but Aidan made a suggestion that was just too tempting for Gwyn: jumping in the mud puddles.

Upon returning home, Gwyn was immediately chastised by her displeased mother, but after a summer of fun and 'letting loose' (by her standards, at least) the girl was feeling more defiant than ever. For the first time, an angry Gwyn shouted at her mother and the mud exploded from her clothing and all over the walls of their home.

Preparing for the worst punishment of her life, Gwyn was surprised to see the smile on her mother's face.

She hadn't known that her mother had been unsure of her own magical potential, and she was blissfully unaware of the relief on her mother's face.

As her mother explained all about her time at Hogwarts in her uncharacteristic excitement, Gwyn found that she was just sad that she couldn't share any of this excitement with poor Aidan.

Appearance:

Gwyn is pristine in appearance, posture, and every movement.

Due to a longstanding focus on appearance in her family, and a morning ritual of brushing her hair that lasts a minimum of thirty minutes, her long, dirty blonde hair is well-cared-for. Indeed, it is quite rare for even a single hair to be out of place, and when it is, Gwyn makes a point of quickly fixing the imperfection.

Her brown eyes are filled with unembraced whimsy when none are looking, but if one catches her at the right moment, they may catch just a spark of silent laughter in her eyes. Otherwise, her eyes are known to have the slightest crinkle when she smiles at others, genuinely or not.

She is rather tall for her age, but not excessively so. Due to a decent metabolism and a strict diet enforced by her mother, Gwyn has a slim, yet unathletic, build. She often finds herself insecure when surrounded by others with more athleticism, but she finds comfort in her height.

Personality:

Gwyn has lived a lifetime of perfection. Her mother, although loving, has never accepted anything else.

If her hair is unkempt, she must brush it immediately. If there is a smidge of food on her face, it must be cleaned at once. If her clothes are wrinkled, she must change into a freshly-ironed set. (A freshly-ironed set which is equally pristine and perfect, of course.)

As Gwyn has grown up with this lifestyle, she's never thought anything of it, but there is a part of her which longs to play in the mud, or dance in the rain, or even to try silly hairstyles just to see how they look on her.

Naturally, she has always stifled this part of herself with a metaphorical stomp from her perfectly polished boots.

Now that she's arrived at Hogwarts, however, she is finally allowing the slightest crack in the door holding back her ambitions of fun and whimsy. With dreams of a future in which she can have fun and enjoy life on her own terms, Gwyn is allowing herself the slightest concessions when interacting with other children her age.

Slowly but surely, she is reclaiming her life.
