Zoe cursed. She had left her magical theory textbook in the study room. She didn't like going to the study room since as an extrovert, she found it hard to cope with such a quiet environment. She preferred to study in the common room, since there was always something going on there. Some might say that was why Zoe was always so distracted and late with her assignments, but that was most definitely not true.

Sighing, she wandered down to the study room and quickly spotted her book. She grabbed it and was all set to leave, when she swiftly turned around and to her horror, twisted her ankle making her fall and drop her heavy textbook making a crashing sound. "Ow!"

She was pretty sure everyone in the room was looking at her, and her pale face flushed with embarrassment. She tried to get up, flinching as the pain on her ankle increased. Yeah, this wasn't going to work. Zoe needed help. She looked around for someone to come help, but she couldn't see anyone from the angle she had fallen into. So, she had to stop herself from jumping when someone touched her to help her up.

Another day another boring agonizingly long study session. And hey! Don't get Alec wrong he enjoyed study just as much as anybody else! However at a certain point when you've spent hours upon hours in the study room, your brain begins to turn to mush. You're hankering to get up and out of your seat, rush outdoors and run around on the grounds, or maybe that was just him. The Gryffindor let out a breath as he flipped the page of a transfiguration book and tried to make his eyes focus on the words. Though he could read the words, at the time his mush brain was currently not letting him comprehend them. Time in here felt useless if he was here to study to read and yet could not do either. Alec knew he needed to get this done. Studying up was important... It was just so boringgg. Alec groaned and laid his head down on the table in front of him, down on the book atop of it. Too much study. No more study. Give up now. Brain break pleaseee.

He could whine about how unfair his life was, having to study. Imagine having to work hard to get far, what an astounding revelation, and yes that was sarcasm. Alec was aware- he just didn't feel like doing it this time around he was desperate for an escape from the endless pit of studying with a mush brain where he kept reading the same lines of a page over and over again, he would take anything!

Alec's eyes flickered away from his textbook as he noticed the door open and saw a young girl bounding in. Hadn't she been the one to leave seconds earlier? Alec eyed her with curiosity. She would walk around before reaching to grab a book. Ah, so maybe she had forgotten something... His eyes followed her as she swiftly turned around, he watched the way her ankle twisted in an unnatural way. He jumped up when he saw the pained expression on her face, and quickly found himself coming to her side as her book clattered to ground.

Alec grimaced at the sight of the stranger in pain and knelt down, eyeing the twisted ankle. He reached to help pick up her book as he began to speak. “How bad does is hurt?” He asked, mind going over all the wants he could deal with this situation. Ferula was a bandaging charm... splints for broken bones, surely it would do the same and offer support for a broken ankle. “Here, let me help,”

He began to stand up and offered his hand to her to help her up to her feet. “That looked bad, I saw the way your ankle twisted as you turned.” He was offering her a sympathetic look though his face seemed to scrunch up when recalling what had happened.

Taisia had been studying for Defence Against the Dark Arts for about an hour when she decided to go down and grab some lunch. As she was packing she noticed a Gryffindor first year packing up too. Zoe? She had heard someone say it before. The girl packed up and left, leaving Taisia to pack up a billion pots of ink. As she finished packing up, rolling her pieces of parchment into scrolls and stuffing them in a pencil case of some sort, Taisia noticed Zoe was back. She grabbed her textbook and turned to head out. Taisia was about to follow her when she saw Zoe turn and twist her ankle. She fell to the ground. Even though Taisia didn't know the girl, she felt inclined to help her. She placed down her items but by the time her hands were free to help Zoe, an older guy had come to her aid. The boy was also a Gryffindor, and Taisia debated going over. Still, she decided to, and when she went over.
“Here, let me help,” the boy said, “that looked bad, I saw the way your ankle twisted as you turned.”
Taisia knelt beside the two and waited for Zoe to reply. The girl had dropped her books as well as the heavy textbook, and Taisia hoped she hadn't dropped it on her ankle to add to the injury.

Looking up, Zoe saw a pale skinned, curly haired boy with a slightly concerned look on his face. He was probably a couple years older than her, third or fourth year, she thought. She stifled a gasp when she saw him, he looked exactly like her cousin! It was uncanny how similar they looked, so only on his second sentence did she hear him. "Here, let me help," he said, stood up and offered her a hand up. Zoe slowly extended her own hand, clutching his and got up, trying to put as little pressure as possible on her injured ankle. Luckily, there was a chair nearby, so with the help of the boy, she sat down onto it.

Zoe thought about the few charms she knew, that could help in this situation. Reparo was the first thing that came to mind, but she had some vague memory of her teacher telling her not to use it on living creatures for injuries. Even if she did have an helpful spell, she doubted she could cast it on herself, as she was shaking a lot. Her best bet was the boy, he was sure to know something. Zoe crossed her fingers, hoping she wouldn't have to make a trip to the hospital wing.

"Any idea how to help?" she asked, trying not to stare. She averted his gaze, and looked at the other people in the room. Some looking at her, and some had gone back to their books. Zoe noticed one girl in specific, who seemed about her age, with sandy blonde hair, looking at her closely. She once again averted the gaze of the girl, looking back at the boy.

Alec felt the situation to get slightly chaotic rather quickly as another person came over to help. He was worried people were going to start crowding around the young injured looking first year, it wasn't what she needed. Alec tried to flash a warm smile at the new girl that had joined them though it ended up looking more nervous than anything. Back onto the topic of the injured first year, Alec was incredibly relieved as she accepted help back up, they walked by a nearby chair which she sat onto. He couldn't imagine how much pain she would have been going through to even attempt to stand up, she had to be putting some pressure on her ankle and she worked to get to her feet and to the chair. Alec eyed her injury warily. The way to the hospital wing was going to hurt, she couldn't walk all the way there like that. She would have to make the trip to the hospital wing either way, dealing with a messed up ankle was going to be harsh and Alec didn't know any immediate heal all.

The Gryffindor bit his lip nervously as he thought back to what he had learned in his classes, going through the various healing spells that could have been helpful in this situation. Reparifors the healing spell was for magically induced ailments, not helpful. Ferula, maybe, it bandaged wounds and offered splints for broken bones it was a good temporary measure, Alec just wasn't sure it would be useful in the long run.

Unless... Alec eyed his wand. Well, he could try though it wasn't guaranteed to work out. Alec had only learned the spell recently and he wasn't sure that today was the best time and place to try it on a person. Alec didn't want to think about the possibility of what would happened if he messed up with the spell. Would she be hurt worse? But he'd practiced the spell, many times, over and over again.

Alec eyed her injury before taking a deep breath and nodding, “Yeah I- I think so,” he spoke, he would glance to the other give that had joined them, offering her a nervous look as he spoke, not so sure about this. Alec handed the book he'd been holding for Zoe to Taisia in order for the Gryffindor to have a free hand as he performed the spell. “Would you hold this?” If she took the book she would smile at her, if not he would gently set it on the ground to the side in order to have a free hand.

Wand in his wand hand Alec turned back to the injured first year pointing his wand at the injured area and flicking it in a diagonal line, Alec spoke the incantation, “episkey,” if the spell hit(Up to Zoe, since I don't want to godmod) Zoe would begin to feel her ankle get hot before becoming suddenly cold and the injury would be healed. Whether or not the spell hit, the older Gryffindor did not seem to take notice, assume it had he would tilt his head as he looked at the injured first year and speak, “how... how does your ankle feel, is it alright now?”
Apologies for this reply taking so long!

Watching the boy point his wand at her ankle, which was flaring in pain, Zoe closed her eyes tightly, slightly afraid. She was well aware she probably looked like a complete wimp, and mistrustful of the older Gryffindor, but at that moment she didn't really care. She heard him say something like 'whiskey', and her ankle started to warm. Her eyelids opened with curiosity, as her ankle became cold. Once the cold vanished, her ankle felt a lot better, but she didn't trust herself to walk on it.

Zoe looked up at the boy, and beamed. "It feels a lot better! Thanks..." she trailed off, realizing she never asked for his name. "Sorry, what's your name? I'm Zoe." She held out her hand for a handshake. It felt formal, but it seemed a lot of kids were doing it here at Hogwarts. She looked over at the dirty blonde girl who had been holding her book. "And thank you as well!"

Deciding to take the risk of moving her newly healed ankle, she wiggled her toes, under her shoes. No pain so far, she thought. The chances were that she would still need to go to the hospital wing, since a student casted the charm and it might have not worked perfectly. Zoe trusted the boy, but the slight shake in his voice had not gone unnoticed. "Should I wait a bit before trying to walk?"
