“Here they are done, here they are paid.”
—Portuguese revenge proverb
If Boe Correa didn't learn to shut his damn mouth, he was very soon going to find himself on the wrong end of Manu Macedo's fist.
Manu herself would be the first to admit that her experience at the London summer camp hadn't been the best so far. First there had been her arrival to the camp on August 1st, bright-eyed and excited, only to find out that she'd been placed in a tent with all of the other Castelobruxo kids who had signed up. Read: she'd been placed in a tent with the Correas. It wouldn't have been quite so bad - she'd made friends with some of the British kids in the tent, like her bunkmate Aly - if Boe hadn't taken it upon himself to make her life absolutely and positively miserable, just like he always did. (Seriously. It was summer. He couldn't leave her alone for just thirty days? Why was he so obsessed with her?)
For the first few days, it had seemed as though Boe was at least going to focus on the bevy of activities that the London camp was offering. But then the Castelobruxo team had lost their Quidditch match, and that was that; the Correa jerk had dried out and gotten even jerk-ier. It hadn't helped that Manu had lost the triathlon on the 8th and then almost immediately gotten knocked out of her duelling match against the Brits on the 13th. And now, here she was, nearly a full day from her horrific defeat on the duelling ground, and still dealing with Boe's barbed words about the matter. He'd lost in Quidditch, she'd lost in duelling. Clearly, neither of them had represented Castelobruxo to their full potential. So why was he still being such a cabrão asshole about her loss? Probably to distract from his own, Manu knew, but still, it was beginning to get to her.
And so, at noon, the Castelo girl found herself storming out of her tent, hands clutched into fists, nails digging tightly into her palms, hot tears pricking at her eyes. She was just so fucking tired of the Correa brothers. Why couldn't they - especially Boe - just leave well enough alone at this point? Hurrying to get as far away from her tent as possible before the cauldron of hot, strong anger that was her heart overflowed in a raging wave, Manu tried to bite back the outburst, but it was too late. She was close to the edge of the stadium's pitch now, and in an outpouring of fury, she turned to the nearest wall and slammed her fists into it, one after the other after the other after the other. Suddenly, in her mind, Boe's face was on the wall; she shoved her white-hot wrath into her hands, beating upon the wall harder and faster until anger began to give way to stinging pain on her knuckles, but she ignored it.
"Why - are - you - such - a - son - of - a - bitch?" she cried out in Portuguese, knowing her fellow Castelo students were too far away and that therefore no one nearby - if there were anyone - would be able to understand her, punctuating each word with a punch to the wall. "Why - can't - you - just - be - nice?"

Illowy had done much out of her way to make the summer camp terribly memorable. There were plenty of things she'd meant to do, plenty that she'd wanted to do... but there were too many things on her mind to pay much attention. At the very least, she expected to be somewhat social. She'd seen some of her friends, was in a tent with her best friend...but mostly the young witch was keeping to herself. Not that that was unusual for her.
Today, the girl was wandering about the grounds. She hadn't had much of a plan of what to do, or if she was going to see anyone; honestly, she mostly just wanted the air and a break from her reading. After all, they were here to have fun and have new experiences, so she might at well make some effort to participate and socialize... though the scene she wound up upon, while somewhat familiar, wasn't exactly what she'd expected to witness today.
A student from one of the foreign schools, quite literally beating her fits against a brick wall. Really, wasn't the a bit dramatic?... maybe a hypocritical thought from the girl who'd done the same thing, but to a tree the year prior; but that wasn't the point.
Her brow furrowed as she watched the tantrum as the other screamed in some other language... spanish? Languages weren't really her strong suit beyond her own English and Gaelic. Each hit, some new word Illowy couldn't make heads or tails of, but the action and emotion wasn't foreign to her. How many time had she calmed her brute of a cousin from similar tantrums? Probably more then she could count. And at the pace the other girl was going, sooner or later she was going to seriously hurt herself, if she hadn't already.
Illowy pursed her lips a little, crossing her arms over her stomach before finally deciding to speak up, "Are you quite finished?" she asked, a small tilt of her head. Illowy wasn't well known for coming off as the most friendly person, neither in tone nor appearance. She tended to have a gaze that felt like she was looking right through you with her ghostly pale eyes starkly contrasted by her dark hair. Her demeanor was stoic and cold, and often she had a tone to match. The snake wasn't really what one would call, approachable; and she liked it that way. Less bullshit to sort through. Once she'd even made a first year wet herself... not her proudest moment, but a point had been made at the time. However, those then knew her well enough, knew better that mostly, it was all a show more then anything else.
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

“Here they are done, here they are paid.”
—Portuguese revenge proverb
Bricks scraped against Manu's knuckles, stinging heavily as the rough surface drew scarlet blood that smeared across umber; truly, though, Manu didn't mind. The pain was a good remembrance that she was alive, that she was here, that there was more to her existence than that pé no saco pain in the neck/ass elder Correa brother and his cruel, unkind words. After all, he wasn't here right now, and she was, and the stinging of her knuckles brought her back to her senses for a brief moment.
Good that he wasn't here, because stinging knuckles would not have stopped her.
But just as it occurred to Manu that perhaps beating up a brick wall hadn't been her brightest idea of the day - If I show up to the medical tent looking like this, they'll probably be of the opinion that I beat someone up, and the last thing I need is for Boe to gloat over me troubling myself any further - and she sunk one last hefty blow, complete with a grunt of a word that would not have been so much as thought of in polite company, into the wall, a low, quiet few words of English cut through Manu's temporary peace and reflection.
"Are you quite finished?"
Caralho! Fuck!/expression of surprise So much for not getting in trouble.
Manu whirled around to face her detainer, expecting an adult or Hogwarts professor of some kind, so her eyes shot upwards. She was small in size herself, the unfortunate byproduct of two short parents, and had been waiting for ages for a growth spurt that had never yet come. (Maybe one day.) But her eyes dropped after a moment to the girl in front of her, who was perhaps three inches taller and maybe a year, if that, elder. No adult at all, then, but just a fellow student. And either from Hogwarts or Ilvermorny, judging by the fluidity of her English; Manu still had trouble differentiating the two, seeing as how she'd only been in an English-speaking country for two weeks. More time was needed on that front as well.
Her hazel eyes roamed over the presence in front of her, for a moment unsure if it was a hallucination or if she had actually been joined by someone else. The other girl was pale, so pale that for a split second Manu could have sworn she was almost translucent, but no ghost, and her dark hair - darker than Manu's, even - gave her an even more striking contrast, especially against such light eyes. She would have been terrifying, almost, if not for the frilly pink shirt and floral skirt she had donned - much more formal than Manu's simple, short black overalls and white tank top. It looked like something Aly, Manu's bunkmate, would have worn - that was to say, something Manu herself never would have touched with a ten-foot pole. But despite the pink and the frills, the girl still gave her a good shock, appearing like that out of nowhere. Maybe she was a ghost, after all.
"Eita!" another exclamation of surprise the girl from Brazil wheezed, her breath catching in her throat before she could manage to take a deeper one and switch into the English that had vastly improved already, even in two short weeks. "Foi mal, slang for sorry you... have surprised me. Have you stood there a long time?"
Hopefully, she'd be able to pass off her bloody knuckles as some type of lie. Pretending to be stronger than she was had always been one of Manu's best strengths.

Were Illowy a more skittish person, she might've been startled herself when the other girl nearly jumped out of her skin at the sound of her voice. Either the stranger had been deeply lost in their own thoughts or Illowy was quieter then she thought. Either way, she could tell the other was trying to sort out what her purpose there was. Perhaps she expected someone with a bit more authority to the interrupting her tantrum.
Alas, that was hardly the case. No real authority in any way that might've mattered beyond that she could guess she might've been a year or two older then the other, and perhaps an inch or two taller. Quite the feat honestly. Illowy was small in frame and stature. Hell, she was pretty sure her height hadn't shifted a single centimeter since she was twelve. Quite a change for her to meet an underclassman that didn't absolute tower her for once.
"Foi mal, you... have surprised me. Have you stood there a long time?"
Illowy leveled a gaze at the girl, trying to decided her initial thoughts. Her first thought was that this girl seemed to be all hot blood and she wondered how it was tempered. The second was being surprised that her English wasn't too bad; there had been plenty of students she'd seen from the Brazil school that still seemed to be struggling a bit, and Hogwarts didn't exactly put an effort towards non-magical related languages, so she doubted many of the Hogwarts students were much help unless they already knew the language.
"Long enough." the Irish girl replied simply, her cold gaze flickering down towards the other's injured hands. The brunette pursed her lips slightly before breaking her gaze away and sifting through her bag a moment. Once satisfied with its contents, her attention returned to the other and started towards her again, "Sit." it came out more like an order then anything as she pulled her bag off her shoulder and dropped it next to the wall before kneeling down beside it and starting to sift through the contents once more.
If the other girl not heed or simply not understood, Illowy would repeat herself again, "Sit down." perhaps a little too firmly for speaking to a stranger.
The one good thing about having had someone in your life always getting into fights and scapes is that one learned to always be prepared to patch another up if needed. The snake pulled a small kit from her bag before holding her hand out for the other girl's, "Let me see." she spoke again, always with the tactless tone as if she were begrudgingly doing someone a favor and not offering her assistance unprompted.
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

“Here they are done, here they are paid.”
—Portuguese revenge proverb
The other girl staring her down sent a sort of strange shiver down Manu's spine. She was not often a fearful person - in fact, she'd heard some of the younger half-blood and Muggle-born students at Castelobruxo call her intrépida, or fearless, for her regular arguments with and standing up against the Correa brothers. They did tend to instill fear in people, but not in Manu, who had never had a problem with showing bullies who was boss or being the one to show courage in the face of terror.
This wasn't terror, though. More just... spooked. The girl's eyes were so pale as to seem unnatural, and eyeing her not like a hunter to prey, as Manu was sometimes used to at Castelobruxo, but more just in an observant sense. Like she was taking Manu in. Looking at her.
The girl from Brazil was used to being stared at, glared at, and everything in between. But someone just observing her? Now, that was new.
Apparently, she had been standing there for "long enough", and Manu winced - what did that mean? Long enough to watch me start hitting the wall and pretending it was Boe, or just enough to see me throw the fit of a lifetime? Embarrassing, either way. But when the girl ordered her to "Sit.", kneeling by the wall and rummaging through her bag, Manu could only stand there and cock her head to the side.
What? Why? Deus God, I think I would rather get out of here and to somewhere I can clean up...
She took a few steps backwards, inching away as the girl's attention seemed for a moment to be preoccupied with searching her possessions for... well, Manu didn't know what. But though Manu didn't see the other girl look her way, not even a single sideways glance, a firmer version of the order - snappish, almost - issued from her mouth before Manu could get more than a meter back.
"Sit down."
Well, that was that. Manu wasn't used to taking orders, but there was something about this girl that made her feel as though she wasn't about to get pranked, tricked, or injured, and that almost gave her... comfort. Almost. Still, she obediently took a few steps closer to the girl and dropped clumsily into a sitting position on the still slightly-damp grass of the field, letting her back lean against the brick wall in a much softer manner than with what her fists had been caressing it earlier (so as to not fall sideways due to her less-than-graceful drop to the ground). Luckily, the smears of blood were a few feet above her head, so at least she wouldn't be getting any on her clothes leaning against the wall. "Boa good/all right , I am sitting. And what next?"
The girl reached out for her hands - "Let me see." - and Manu, after spotting the small kit in the Hogwarts student's free hand, begrudgingly reached out her own arms to the girl. Her knuckles were not a pretty sight - scraped-up skin spotted and patched with blood, small specks of earthy red material embedded into the wounds - but though this girl, with her matter-of-fact demeanor, did not necessarily seem as if she wanted to be aiding Manu in this, she still had out what appeared to be a small first-aid bag, and despite it all, Manu trusted her.
That was odd, in and of itself. Manu Macedo did not trust easily.
"Thank you," she mumbled, begrudgingly, glancing upwards to meet the girl's stark gaze. Odd, to offer assistance to a stranger without so much as knowing their name. "I swear to you that it is not so bad as how it looks. And... how are you called?"

Illowy wasn't entirely shocked the other actually obeyed her instruction. One way or another, the snake typically got her way when it came to situations like this. Though despite her cold stare and tone, when the other girl finally offered out her hands, Illowy took the first one gently in her own, quietly inspecting the severity of her task. She'd seen worse, but it didn't seem like the other had been holding back.
For a moment, the strange girl caught her gaze as she muttered a begrudging thanks. People didn't often try to look her in the eye, at least no one that didn't already know her. Illowy was an old hand at keeping and aire about her that kept people wary of her. It felt safer that way, to instil some level of fear in those around her and keep them at arms length; safer for her at least. The young witch had dealt with her own share of bullies, gotten in her own share of good ol' fashioned muggle style and magical brawls, and licked plenty of her own wounds to decide she liked it more keeping a very small circle and hold the rest of the world in the idea that the only reason they were still standing and breathing was because she decided to allow it. Not the healthiest mindset, but that was what she'd settled on by this point.
However, despite that honed aire Illowy depended on for some level of control over whomever might be near her, this stranger seemed more or less trusting of her in this moment. That was certainly more then most people outside of her little circle of friends. At least trusting enough to allow the ghostly girl to tend to her for a moment.
Illowy released a short, breathy huff of a chuckle, one corner of her lip slightly curling into a shadow of a smile as she broke her eyes away from the other's. Now that she'd definitely heard before. The scene was almost becoming nostalgic now. Regardless, she wasn't going to entertain the assurance with a thought of her own."I swear to you that it is not so bad as how it looks."
The Fifth Year placed the injured hand back down on the stranger's own knee a moment as she retrieved a couple more items; a thermos of water and a clean handkerchief, "I'm Illowy Magnard." she replied simply as she wet the hankie and took the other's hand once more, gingerly dabbing away blood and bits of clay from the wall. Once satisfied with the first hand, she returned it to the stranger's knee and held her's out once more for the other. Might as well get the messy part out of the way first.
"Care to explain what the wall did to make you so mad?" she wondered aloud, pausing a moment to consider perhaps simplifying the question for the sake of language barriers, "Why were you upset?" she tried again, gesturing lazily toward the stained wall with the bloodied handkerchief.
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

“Here they are done, here they are paid.”
—Portuguese revenge proverb
The stranger took one of Manu's hands in both of her own, and the icy cold of her skin chilled Manu even further. Honestly, was she facing some kind of ghost, or perhaps a rage-filled hallucination? It was a wizarding stadium, after all - to assume that this place didn't have at least one undead in its populace of the living would perhaps have been a stupid supposition - but the girl was holding her hand, and her eerily pale fingers weren't passing through Manu's brown ones. No ghost, then. Just... a living girl, unnaturally corpselike.
Still, Manu wasn't necessarily creeped out by the girl. After all, she didn't scare easy, especially from people who were kind to her. That sort was few and far between these days - always had been, really. There was something about the carioca person from Rio that had always seemed to attract the people who thought they could walk all over her as if she were nothing more than carpet; perhaps her small size or vaguely innocent, delicate face. These were things that Manu had always hated about herself, truly. Maybe if she were bigger or stronger or more threatening, she wouldn't look like such an easy target. But she also knew that it was not necessarily a bad thing to seem harmless, because it would lead to interactions like this, where a pretty, living ghost wasn't scared of her even after witnessing her throw knuckles time and time again into a brick wall.
Anyone who was willing to take care of a stranger, to take bloody hands in theirs and tend to them without even asking if those scarlet stains were pure or "tainted with the wrong sort", was automatically good in Manu's book. Even if they did look a little strange.
The girl breathed out a huff, and - was that a ghost of a smile from the ghost of a girl? The corner of Manu's lip pulled up into a halfhearted smirk as well; there was something about true smiles, not the cruel callousness of certain purebloods she knew, that made her want to be happy, too. Placing Manu's hand back on her knee for a moment to grab more supplies from this kit she had just so coincidentally been lugging around, the stranger introduced herself as Illowy Magnard.
Ill-oh-wee.
The vocal sound at the beginning of the girl's name was unfamiliar to Manu; it simply did not exist in Portuguese, nor Spanish, and though Manu spoke English now more comfortably than she had at the beginning of the camp, she still struggled with certain pronunciations of English vowels. There were just so many of them! At least in Spanish and Portuguese, you really only had the core five - plus some diphthongs, maybe, but English had what? Eleven? Twelve? Fifteen of these crazy vowels, all represented by the same few letters? Well, that was just ridiculous.
"Eh-lo-ui," she tried to repeat back, not even bothering with the last name, which had that odd hard d at the end instead of the more dental or tapped sound of her languages. "That name is pretty. I am named Manuela Macedo, from the school Castelobruxo. But I am called mostly Manu per friends."
There; now they knew each other's names, and by that standard and the fact that Illowy was now dabbing her bloody knuckles with a wet handkerchief, Manu could consider them friends. Her standard for those wasn't very high these days. And she could go back to the tent and tell Aly that she had made another friend today, which would get the Ravenclaw girl off her back about needing to "go out" or "be sociable" or such nonsense.
Illowy followed up her introduction with a question on what the wall had done, and Manu cocked her head; of course the wall had made her bleed, what sort of question was that? But then a rephrase: "Why were you upset?" And that made a lot more sense. Of course, she had been mad because of Boe and his infantile insults and ruthless remarks, and dating back years, the fact that they had once been the best of mates before one fateful kiss had ended it all and turned him into her worst nightmare. But she couldn't exactly go around blabbing that to strangers - or, rather, wouldn't. The day Manu admitted that she had ever touched Boe Correa with anything other than a fist to the face was the day she would drop out of Castelobruxo and become a hermit.
So, the short version, then.
"Many of the students from Castelobruxo are... bad to befriend," she said, carefully, trying to dance around badmouthing her school. It wasn't Castelobruxo's fault that so many of its students were elitist snobs, after all, and she did have more school pride, perhaps, than any of them; plus, she did have friends at the school, even if they were few and far between. "There are some in my tent who are bullies. I did not want to get in problems with the administration here by hitting them, so... a wall cannot complain, yes?"
Manu flashed a half-grin, hoping that it wasn't a pitiful tale. Well, it was pitiful, but she hoped that at least Illowy wouldn't think it to be such.

It never crossed her mind for a moment to question the other's blood status. There was no question there existed those at Hogwarts that did still cling to the archaic ideas of a bygone era about blood purity, but Illowy wasn't raised like that. While she came from a good wizarding family, it was instilled in her to never pass a judgment on someone based on their blood. When she was younger, she thought her mother was exaggerating that anyone might actually hold such kinds of beliefs; but once coming to Hogwarts, exposed to a much more diverse population of backgrounds and family types, it quickly became clear that it wasn't nearly as uncommon as she once thought.
As she cleaned the blood away, she listened as the other tried her name on her tongue. It was definitely being pronounced wrong, but she wasn't going to hold that against the girl. Most people struggled with saying her name correctly. That Welsh "Ll" always tripping them up.
"Manu?" she echoed the nickname after the other introduced herself, "Lovely to meet you." she spoked with a short nod, setting the handkerchief aside. Quietly, she listened to Manu explain while she reached back for her little kit and retrieve little strips of paper packets. While she couldn't condone taking one's anger out in such a way, she could still sympathize with it. Only the previous summer had she been in the same place, though different circumstances with a tree. However, she certainly didn't have the girl's restraint to not take it out on her offender.
Illowy had garnered a small reputation for herself that she wasn't afraid to utilize either her wand or her fist to get across her point. Then again, the snake always did have quite the short temper, and when she struck a blow she was relentless and brutal. A family trait, she supposed since her cousin was the same way. However, the difference between them had always been that she never got caught.
"I suppose the wall cannot complain." she agreed, her tone relatively neutral. Honestly, she didn't know that much about the Castelobruxo school beyond that it was in South America. Her interactions with any students from the other visiting school had been practically non-existent. Not because she had anything against them... she just generally wasn't the social type, "Why hurt yourself if someone already hurt you though? Its like letting them win twice." she mused as she tore the paper packet apart to reveal a small strip of decorated fabric; a bandaid.
Carefully she peeled off more paper on the back before returning to Manu's hand, "I don't know if you have these back home. Its called a plaster. A Muggle-Born girl showed them to me once a few years ago. They go on cuts to keep them clean." she explained, trying to take care to keep her sentences simple.
She gently smoothed the plasters on what she deemed to be the worst wounds on the girl's hands as she continued her previous though, "But still. I understand dealing with bullies. When I started school, I dealt with them a lot."
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Well, Manu may not have been able to properly hit all the vowels and strange consonants in the girl's name, but Illowy could definitely hit pretty much every sound in Manu's. Of course, her vowels were longer and flatter than those of Manu herself, not quite as sharp and short as those of a Brazilian dialect, but it was certainly close enough to be a proper pronunciation, and Manu felt a bit embarrassed that Illowy had gotten it first try. Of course, her name was easier, but...
Her train of thought evaporated as the girl finished cleaning the blood off her knuckles with the wet handkerchief, the fabric digging slightly into one of the scrapes in just the right way to cause a sting of pain. Hissing like a kicked cat, Manu flinched backwards on instinct, nearly jerking her hand completely out of Illowy's - though she managed to not do that entirely, seeing as how rude that would've been. This stranger was taking time out of her day to make sure that Manu was all right, after an injury that she clearly deserved, being that it was self-inflicted and done for a sort of stupid reason. How... kind of her.
Manu was not used to kind people, and that, more than the girl's spectral pallor or general vibe, gave her the creeps.
"Not that Boe hurt me," she clarified after the girl pulled a small Muggle bandage from her kit, ripping open the paper wrapping with practiced ease. This in and of itself made her perk up a bit; Manu didn't know of many purebloods (read: the Correas) who even knew what a curativo Band-Aid was, much less used one as casually as this. Perhaps that was why this girl was being so kind to her. Perhaps they were the same. "He may try what is possible, but I could break him with easiness. If he does not see that his words cause anger, no hurt is done, yes?"
The curativo went on the back of Manu's knuckles, with Illowy explaining what they were, and Manu tried her best to hide a grin. Maybe she was a pureblood after all, or at least assuming that Manu was one, because no Muggle-born (or half-blood, like Manu herself) was going to go around explaining what these little bandages were to other people who had spent time in the non-magical world. "I know," she agreed, flexing her knuckles on the bandaged hand as Illowy moved to the other with more of the curativos. "My father is - as they say? - Moggle?" Manu's family had always called them os não-mágicos the non-magicals, giving way to some fun family jokes as her father always protested that he, the lone não-mágico of the Macedos, did in fact have his own kind of magic, thank you kindly. "I did not know that witches walked around in - no - with? With... how did you say, plasters? Thank you."
Her hands entirely cleaned up and bandaged, Manu took them back and flexed the knuckles on the other hand, as well, the plasters sticking firmly on. These were certainly of a higher quality than the ones her family usually stocked at home in Rio, which would fall off if the skin to which they were attached was even a slight bit damp. Quite pleased with the results, Manu offered Illowy a glib half-smile. "If anyone tries to bully you, send them to me," she offered, the smile turning a bit into a self-confident smirk. "If I hurt myself by teaching them lessons, you can always heal me again."

Illowy wondered if maybe she was misunderstanding, or maybe they just saw things differently in this respect. However she did respect the assurence that if someone did try to harm Manu, she was more then willing and capable to handle herself; but that didn't mean she ought to have to put up with it in the first place. Even if the harm done wasn't intentional, "Hurt was still done." she insisted gently, "Even if it was not meant to be hurtful. Words still can hurt. Anger can happen when you are hurt, just like pain or sadness." Illowy spoke slowly and carefully, trying to maintain the mentality to keep her sentences simple and not get carried away with phrases or bigger words that would have further muddled the interaction. It was proving to be harder then she thought, having never realized how complex language was until you were trying to speak to someone who couldn't understand you.
Illowy did know another language, having been taught Irish since she was a little girl by her grandmother. Even still she spoke or wrote in it on occasion when she didn't want to be understood or when she was talking to someone else she already knew would understand. She'd never had the experience of trying to talk to someone else in a language she barely knew, or the other way around.
The teen examined her work as she carefully place the plasters. Sure, it might've been faster and more effective to have used magic to heal the girl, but Illowy had learned over time that not everyone was okay with just allowing strangers to cast spells on them; even if it was in good faith. Plus, Illowy thought the plasters were rather clever little muggle inventions, and useful. Truthfully, Illowy might've even felt a little pride in knowing something about the Muggle world and finding a place in her life to utilize it on occasion. Of course, she hadn't counted on that Manu was already well aware of the purpose of a plaster after Illowy explained it.
The snake was typically well in control of her facial expression, however the realization that she'd sat there and explained such a minute thing to someone clearly already in the know brought a bright red flush to the pale girl's cheeks... despite her efforts will away any crack in her enigmatic expression. How. Bloody. Embarrassing."I know...My father is - as they say? - Moggle?"
She dare not look up at the girl again for a long moment as she spoke, commenting about witches carrying around plasters, "They uh... they don't." she admitted, swallowing hard as she tried to choke down the lingering embarrassment, "Like I said, a Muggle-Born showed me and I thought they could be useful." she explained, managing to pull her tone back into order and recover herself as Manu tested out the durability of the plaster's adhesive with a flex of her hands. Illowy's pale eyes finally flicked back up to the girl's face, getting the sense the other was pleased with her work as she was flashed a small smile. It was quite a pretty smile, the snake thought to herself.
Then came the offer that bloomed the smile into a cocky smirk that managed to pull a small chuckle from the paler witch as she tossed her supplies back into her bag haphazardly, "Thank you, but I'm sure I'll be okay. People know better to not try to bully me now. If they have not seen me fight before, they certainly have seen me duel. And I never get caught." she assured with her own cocky smirk, "But I will gladly patch you up anytime you need me."
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.
