Studying Alone
Taisia sat at a table in the library. It was navy, her favourite colour. Her lipstick was a funny colour, one that hadn't been seen before. The library wasn't too crowded and it was in perfect study conditions. Where she was wasn't that crowded though.
Taisia was studying A History of Magic, her favourite subject. They had been learning about the Gargoyle Strike and although Taisia had finished her homework that morning, she was keen to learn more about gargoyles, having seen a few around before. She opened a book, Gargoyles: Guardians of Stone, and began to read.
She tuned out the sounds of the library around her and truly did not notice the group of rowdy house elves who were looking for someone. She missed the flying book catastrophe and the howler that arrived.
But when she finally looked up she saw someone. Someone she wanted to talk to. She could only see the black of the back of their robes but from their height they looked like a first or second year. Without thinking, she knocked a pile of paper she had off the desk, hoping the person would turn around, or at the very least help her. They turned around.

Studying Alone
Rebecca stepped into the library carrying a wobbly tower of books to return. His arms ached a little from the strain of lugging them all up from the dungeon, but now that he was finally here he was glad to get rid of them all. A few house elves jogged up to help, and he smiled apologetically as they took his stack and started sorting through it, giving directions amongst themselves.
The Library was breathtaking, of course. When Rebecca had first entered it a month ago he had been dumbstruck by the swooping ceilings and arching towers of books, and he still had to take a minute to appreciate the quiet decadence. He spotted some groups of students huddled around study tables and desks, more house elves walking quickly and purposefully through a few narrow aisles between bookcases, and even a few owls swooping around clutching reference texts and manuscripts in their claws.
As he stood there a moment to flex his sore hands, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck raise a little, like someone was watching him. Then, he heard some shuffling and a thud! of something hitting the wood floor. He turned, and saw a flustered blonde Ravenclaw standing above a messy pile of loose parchment on the ground. He immediately crouched to help pick it up. "I got it, don't worry."
He looked up to meet her eyes and smiled teasingly. "Everything okay?"
