I've been waiting for this!
Stirling, Scottland
Every morning since his 11th birthday Jonathan would sit by the window in the breakfast nook and stare at the horizon until it was time to start his daily chores. He would then sulk his way to the cows for milking and feeding. Then he would sulk his way to the chickens to collect their eggs. Next he would sulk his way to the goats before heading out to the fields to help his father tend and sow. His father would observe him and shake his head, "A watched pot never boils, Son." He would say. But Jonathan couldn't help it and every now and then he would glance up at the horizon only to be disappointed. For you see, young Jonathan was waiting for something very important. One day, when Jonathan wasn't even paying attention, it arrived! He and his father had just come in from a long hard day tending the fields. Jonathan's four year old baby sister greeted them at the door squeeling with excitement. "Jonfan, Jonfan! You have a letter!" She exclaimed while jumping up and down and clapping her hands. Jonathan looked up at his mother and she nodded with a smile as she handed to him the very thing he had been so desperately waiting for. He took it and sat down at the table in the breakfast nook. He stared at it, afraid it might not be real, but there it was plain as day, the Hogwarts crest. He carefully opened the letter and read the words he longed to see. He had been accepted to Hogwarts and included was a list of items required for his first year. Jonathan's mother gently laid a hand on his should, her face beaming with pride. "We'll go to Diagon Alley first thing in the morning."
