Closed Violin - Requiem for a Dream

As quiet as silence itself, Thymus moved across the rooms and hallways. He walked room from room until he finally got to the ballroom not too long ago he met two girls here, they weren't here today, good. It wasn't that he disliked them it was merely the fact he wanted to be alone, his tall slender figure was dressed in all shiny black much like the hair that covered his pale sunken face. Thymus never came to terms with his insomnia, he didn't want any spells or muggle pills to help him fall asleep. He didn't know why but he feared the dark, he always had. Hi quietly closed the ballroom door behind him and turned his back away from the entrance and smiled revealing his pearly white teeth with a slight gap in between the two from teeth. He moved some of his long black hair out of his face revealing his deep cheekbones in the moonlight. He looked about the room standing in the most uptight manner.
"Hello Everyone," he said to the large crowd. "And welcome to my orchestra, I hope and really hope that you may find my music to reach the furthest corners of your soul and drag you out to the magic of music."
"Today I will be your conductor and your musician," he said professionally, before pointing to one corner of the room. "I know sir rather odd, but I am no man of normal means I am a man of new oddities and discoveries."
"I will be playing a beautiful peace," Thymus stated pulling out his violin from behind him, it was a beautiful wood with the most intricate designs. "This song in particular is very close to me..."
He put his hand on the locket that lay hidden beneath his shirt
"Requiem for a Dream," he smiled tucking his violin under his chin.
He closed his eyes and took a steady, calm, breath bringing his bow to the strings of the violin. Then he played, it filled the ballroom like the most lovely melody, the most lovely orchestra, he let the music consume him as he played with all his pain, hurt, happiness, and hope. His hair fell to cover his face once as it did before as the notes caressed the audiences ears bringing tears of both joy and sadness. It was a dance that swept you out of the castles windows and far away into the secret garden where you feel safe and sound... In your mother's arms once again. He was no longer on earth, he was in a place between time and space a place of peace and honey. Though he traveled so far his feet never left the ground, before anyone knew it the song came to an end with a sweet vibrating note. He stood to face the crowd opening his eyes, smiling largely holding his hands up. The crowd cheered, throwing roses and applauding Thymus's talent. There in the crowd stood his mother smiling her blue eyes in perfect contrast to her long glowing curly blonde hair. She whispered something, and he knew what she said, he heard her above all the clapping and cheering the most important three words of his life...
"I love you," he smiled from ear to ear.
"Thank you," he said. "Not for the applause but rather for listening to my story, thank you for handing me your ear."
He took a grand bow to the crowd, smiling as he looked back up, not to the grand theater that stood cheering with his loving mother, but to a ballroom where no one was to be seen, where he was all alone with his violin...
"It really is a requiem for a dream afterall..."
