Way Too Loud!  Pet
Dove stepped into the pet shop, just to hear meows, screeching, chittering, and some kind of strange clicking sound? She turned her head. A couple pink and purple... pom-pom looking things. But cute! Dove looked at her grandma, grinning widely.
"Columbia, honey, didn't you want a pet you could bring home?"
"Eh, yeah, I guess." Dove looked away, sighing. "I'll be back someday, little cutie pies!" She turned away from the pygmy puffs, looking around the shop. An old couple was standing behind a counter, the woman holding a steaming plate of sugar cookies. Dove happily smiled and waved at them, and as she walked up to them to make some conversations, the woman offered her a cookie. The woman was a little shorter than her, Dove noted. Maybe about two inches shorter. "Oh, of course!" Dove smiled as she gratefully took a cookie. "Ah-!" She yelped as the cookie burnt her hand. It was hotter than she thought! The woman smiled and introduced herself as Mrs. Witticker, or Anita. In the middle of Dove's pleasant little chat with Mrs. Witticker, she heard a deafening screech from the corner of the store. She stepped into the corner from where she heard the screech. "Oh, be careful, dear!" Mrs. Witticker warned her as she stepped closer. "Those are where the owls are. Some of them are a bit aggressive!" Dove turned to her. "Thank you, Mrs. Witticker. I'll be sure not to mess with the lot of 'em!" She bit into the cookie while approaching the source of the deafening shrieks. She came to the cage of a pretty, auburn-colored owl. It was shrieking because its wing was caught in the cage! "Mrs. Witticker?" Dove called, worried. Mrs. Witticker came over, saw the owl, and quickly rushed off to get something. While she was gone, Dove tried to ease the owl's wing out of the bars of the cage. "Hey... hey." She murmured to the owl. "You're gonna be okay. Stop moving so much, I'll try to help." As the owl's piercing shrieks calmed down and it stopped squirming, Dove managed to get its wing out of the bars of the cage. She turned, stroking the owl's wing, to see a smiling Mrs. Witticker who inquired if she thought that this owl was right for her. "Hmmm... Yes!" She giggled. "It's a very pretty owl. And very sweet too!" As she handed over the proper amount of money, she smiled, thinking about all the fun times she'd have with her new little owl.
