Kingsley Merritt - First Year - Hufflepuff

Kingsley has always been a very fun-loving person, since the day she was born. She is known through her family to be a very loud and rambunctious person. She has an incredible amount of sass and has a bad habit of not thinking before she speaks. She’s always trying to help her friends to have fun as well, whether that is cracking jokes or if she needs to help them take their minds off things.
Kingsley and her family are very close. Her mother Amelia is a very reserved woman who is sharp as a tack and her sass has been unchallenged for as long as Kingsley can remember. Amelia a tall, brunette woman with blue eyes doesn’t get angry often but whenever the situation deems it necessary, Kingsley has been told she is the scariest woman in the world. Kingsley can’t imagine her mother every even raising her voice, let alone be scary. To Kingsley her mother is as patient as they come. Noah, Kingsley’s father, is of average height and has brunette hair. Noah and Kingsley share the same eye color and smile.
Kingsley was raised by a wizard and a muggle. Noah, terrified of how Amelia would react when he told her that he had magical abilities waited for what her would say “the right time” before telling. As much as he had wanted that to be true, Noah had originally thought that Amelia went out for groceries and was using magic in the house to speed up the cleaning process and Amelia walked in on the occurrence. While Amelia was originally surprised as soon as she came to terms with it, she would crack the occasional joke here and there about him using magic to get out of his chores.
Growing up, Kingsley was homeschooled since her mother and father were aware she could have inherited her father’s magic. After her schoolwork was finished one or both of her parents would take her to the parks to play so she could socialize with children her age. While at the park she met Ava, her best friend, while the two have been pretty much inseparable since they met, they couldn’t be more opposite. Ava is a blonde, brown eyed girl who has a very meek demeanor.
Kingsley’s first instance of magic happened when she was 8 years old. Her father was tickling her a tremendous amount and she was laughing. While laughing, she managed to make the newspaper her mother was reading fly out of her hands and around the room.
