Friendship over ice-cream
Kayla had just arrived in Diagon Alley, feeling happy, because she got to go to the ice-cream parlour- perhaps this was her favourite place of all, in Diagon Alley. It was always busy, the bell on the door rindge whenever a customer walked in, but most people preffered to sit outside, under a bright - umbrella, taking in the sunlight as they enjoyed a simple sundae or maybe a brownie, good desert is never-ending at Floreans'.
So, that's exactly what Kayla did, she walked down the bustling street, saying hello to familiar faces and smiling at unfamiliar ones. Kayla was in a cherry mood today, see what I did there? in the mood for something super sweet. She heard the bell ring as she opened the door- oh what a nice sound! She went up to the front to order her ice-cream as usual.
"Afternoon dear, what do you fancy today?" The person up front today smiled at her, pushing a menu in front of her.
"I'm gonna sit outside, I haven't really decided. Can I just sit for a while before I decide?" Kayla asked the waiter, who nodded, but still insisted on Kayla taking a menu.
Kayla raced through the doors that led outisde, with the menu of course, wanting to get a seat soon, she needs to sit down for a minute. She spotted an empty table, but then her eye caut on to another table, this table was occupied with a girl, a girl who looked arpund Kaylas age, eleven or twelve. And she was sitting alone. This was Kaylas cue to tank tank empty table, get an ice-cream, less the parlor and act like everything is normal. But Kayla being Kayla, she approached this girl, leaning on the chair in front of her.
"Hi," Kayla said, trying to get the girls attention. "I saw you sitting here, and I wantd to go to that empty table, but it would really sad to eat a really sweet ice-cream alone so I much rather sit with someone else because that just makes things better, it makes the ice-cream taste better and-" Kayla took in a breath, "and I wanted to ask if I can sit here? You seem lonely yourself, sitting here alone. I mean- not like you are lonely, your just looked lonely- but theres no way you can look lonely because you can't always tell because of how the person looks and-" Kayla stopped herself from finishing the sentance. Why couldn't she ever just shut her damn mouth for once?
"Sorry, talk to much." Kayla gave her a small smile, trying to seem a bit friendlier.
