Ever since Cordelia was born, her parents had believed she had magic. For any wizard born child, she had an ordinary life. Almost, other than the fact she had to be home-schooled. When she was two, her parents got a family pet but they wouldn't let her see until she started talking to the box. After a while, they decided it was time. They opened he box carefully, and after what felt like an eternity turned into a second. They picked up something small and bright, with colors so beautiful and like the sun that she spent hours babbling to it. Eventually, the creature disappeared, and little Cordelia could be seen crying in the library. When Cordelia turned six, boxes around the house started appearing. When Cordelia started asking about them, they simply smiled and told her about the history of the house. All Cordelia could say when she heard this news was about her knowing the house was enchanted, but deep in her heart she knew it had nothing to do with enchantments. Later that day, Cordelia worked up the nerve to talk to her mother. Mariaan was a wise woman, and she told Cordelia to follow her. When they entered a dark shallow room, Cordelia jumped at a sound of something.. Birdlike. Then she remembered. The bird from so long ago, could it be? But her mother must have known what she was thinking, because she shook her head and a single word came out. Sun. Son. Definition? A male descendant. But, could it be? Cordelia called out, and slowly flapping down was a bright orangy-yellow bird of the son that she had read about many times before in her life. And when her mother asked what to name him, she said the first word in her mind. Tiys. Powerful. Perfectionist. Capable.
For her 8th Birthday, her parents decided she ought to go to a proper school because of the likelihood of her doing muggle studies at home, Cordelia's uncle Harry spoke up and decided that she could come join his muggle school in London the next month, while Hester declined, Mariaan spoke up and suggested that she come only when she had finished doing a project. Of course Cordelia knew the project. It was a project made for Tiys, the family phoenix, to house him more comfortably. She agreed, then rushed into her room to get packed for a quadrennial event. When she had arrived at Florida to meet some muggle friends, no one asked about her background. Later when cordelia was playing with some muggles, she saw a 6 year old being bullied by and older kid, she ran forward to stop the younger muggle from getting beaten. Cordelia should've known not to let her anger get the best of her, because before she could even scream, the teenager was blasted back, and Cordelia was sure she could hear creaking behind her. She spun around, looking at the colossal tree that was slowly, but surely falling. She screamed, and the second she tried to even mutter a word she blacked out. When she awoke her mother was sitting crossed legged across from her, smiling. She quickly explained that she had heard her scream, and she had stopped the tree mid-falling, aswell as making sure the teenager and child wouldn't remember that.
