Yes, Lily and Pierre are right. Once you've been sorted into your House you cannot change it. The only way you could do so would be to be active for 6 full months. At the end of those active 6 months, you can request deactivation and can make a completely different character and try to get into a new House. But hopefully during that time period you will make friends, engage in plots and come to like your character. Houses don't really matter that much OOC at HiO, you don't get any different rewards/benefits. The only way Houses would matter would be if they are part of your backstory (like mine originally was) and it doesn't make sense if you're in a certain House.

I had to change my original backstory bc I needed to get into Ravenclaw or Slytherin. And it didn't make sense for my character to be in any other House. So I had to re-write it to make sense. You do NOT have to rewrite your character's background/history to fit your House. It's just I did so because I wanted to and I'm OCD so leaving it as it was would not make sense and would bother me forever if I didn't change it. I'm sure if you give it a shot in Hufflepuff you'll come to love your character the way they are now. Like I said, being in any House doesn't really matter that much IC.

You all get the same treatment and you can even make your character be displeased that they got into Hufflepuff. Welcome to the site by the way! I hope you have fun here!

PS. If you're thinking about simply abandoning the site for 6 months and then return to request a deactivation to try and get into a new House, please don't do so. I think you have to be ACTIVE for 6 full months in order to do this. So you'd have to be posting on the site on a regular basis etc... and joining threads/starting threads with other people etc... I think it's this way because the admins hope that you will come to love your character with all its flaws etc... and reconsider about deactivating, especially since all the Houses are pretty much the same OOC.

I didn't know that, if I'd known that I might have done the same thing lmao!
I mean it's too late now I'm too involved in so many plots and with so many people.
But yeah, back then if I'd known I might have just waited for 6 months and then come back.
