A Partner for Potions
This is a PV RP with Wes. Please do not interfere.
Mia looked around as the professor droned on and on. He was usually pretty interesting, albeit a bit mean, but this lesson...well this one was boring. Something about Wormwood and muggles stealing names. As she said. Boring.
Mia sighed and looked into the distance. She missed Rosemary. She was nice, pretty-not that Fain wasn't, she was just pretty in a softer way-and kind. Her lessons were mixed with Italian, and her voice floated over the crowd like a whisper of silk in a breeze. Fain was rough and strikingly beautiful. Soft v Hard.
The professor walked around the edge of his desk and looked at them all with a striking gaze. With a haughty attitude, he sat down and pointed to the class.
"Please pick a partner. You will be making the Vitamix Potion. You have 30 minutes."
The professor then went back around his desk and sat down behind it in the over comfy chair that obviously had many spells keeping it together. Mia looked around. Already people were pairing up. The only people that she recognized, she only recognized faintly. Plus they had pairs. So she had to pair up with someone new.
Turning around, she caught sight of a Gryffindor boy with curly brown hair and thick eyebrows. He seemed mature enough. She sighed and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Do you want to be partners?"

Wesley examined Professor Valtome’s face and blinked, looking down at his parchment which had scribbles and nonsenses of notes. He picked up his quill and, holding it as low as he could go, began doodling on his parchment. Bold, black hearts, arrows and circles began appearing after every line. In the back of Wesley’s mind, Professor Valtome’s voice said something, which he had not understood, as it didn’t comprehend.
Somebody’s hand tapped twice on Wesley’s shoulder, and he slowly looked around - well, not too slowly as that would be strange. A girl with piercing, icy blue eyes and deep red hair stood behind him. Her skin was pale, and he wasn’t quite sure, but noticed a couple of red freckles splattered on her nose like specks of sand on your body when you get out of the sand at the beach. "Do you want to be partners?" The girl asked. In preparation for reply, Wesley set down his quill, carefully, as he did not want a large ink stain on his parchment, although doodles were an exception; the curly-haired boy nodded with a charming yet timid smile. “I mean, why not? All right, then,” he replied, tilting his head and closing his book. Tucking out his chair, Wesley stood up and beckoned for the girl to sit in his chair. “You can sit in my chair - I don’t mind standing.”

Mia sat down and tossed her hair. The boy's station was clean, clean enough, but his notes were messy. Not messy, doodled on. The doodles were clean cut, but impossible to distinguish from each other. The notes themselves were messy and a complete nonsense scribble in Mia's eyes. So she pulled over her notes.
Looking back up at the curly haired boy, Mia pointed to her piece of parchment with clean notes. Sure, there was a smudge here or there, but it was so much better than the boys.
"Ok. For this potion we need a copper cauldron, something to mix it with, Wormwood, Asphodel Root, Monkshood, and scales. I have a copper cauldron and scales, but I don't have any of the ingredients or something to stir it with. Can I borrow those from you?"
Mia looked at the boy, hopeful. She knew that she had some Wormwood, Asphodel Root, and Monkshood, but they were in her common room. She couldn't exactly go there and get some.
She knew that if the boy didn't have some then they couldn't ask the professor. They would grumble and then give them detention for not being prepared. Mr. Valtome could be such a pain.

The girl can sat down in his chair, and Wes was left towering over her by her side. And that girl explained all of the ingredients, she also had said how she was only missing a few of the bits. "For this potion we need a copper cauldron, something to mix it with, Wormwood, Asphodel Root, Monkshood, and scales."
"I have a copper cauldron and scales, but I don't have any of the ingredients or something to stir it with. Can I borrow those from you?" The girl said.
Wesley nodded. "Oh, yeah," he murmured in reply. Out of the corner of his mouth, came Wesley's tongue, as an absent action. On one knee, Wesley scrambled through his bag. At last, he found three glass jars, each see-through, and lay them on the table top, one by one; he then pulled out his jar of stirring spoons, laying it as well on the table top.
In one jar, a navy blue and deep dark purple plant sat, minding its own business. A tag, that had been attached with twine, was around the fat jar's neck, and it read in Wes' neat, cursive handwriting: 𝓦𝓞𝓡𝓜𝓦𝓞𝓞𝓓. In the middle jar, which was exceptionally slim, was the beautiful root of Asphodel; much like the jar containing the Wormwood, a tag was attached to the glass jar with twine, and it read what was inside: 𝓡𝓞𝓞𝓣 𝓞𝓕 𝓐𝓢𝓟𝓗𝓞𝓓𝓔𝓛. In the final ingredient jar, a light mauve flower sat inside, and it looked graceful; the tag around its neck said: 𝓐𝓒𝓞𝓝𝓘𝓣𝓔/𝓜𝓞𝓝𝓚𝓢𝓗𝓞𝓞𝓓. In the real final jar, there were metal spoons, specially made for potion-making; and his father had made them from scratch, which made them even more special to Wes; a sticker on the front, which was gold and shimmery, had special lettering on the front: 𝙿𝙾𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝙿𝙾𝙾𝙽𝚂.

Mia took the jars and uncapped them one by one. The smells filled the air and Mia smiled, breathing in. It reminded her of Lancashire, and the well-kept artificial pond by the old servants cabin. The one with rusted shingles but an impeccably clean and pretty exterior. Grandmother always said that if you treat your servants right that showed true wealth. That was why she gave Willy a gold bracelet every Christmas, and Amia a 1,000 pound bonus out of her allowance.
Mia pulled over her materials and began weighing the wormwood. The pungent smell met her nose and she sighed, shaking her head. Except for the wormwood. The wormwood could rot in hell.
She finished weighing all of the ingredients and glanced at the tall boy behind her, shaking her head a little to let her hair cascade down her shoulders.
Thinking of it, she didn't remember the boy's name. It was Wesla right? Or something like that. No. Wes. She had overheard him talking to a black haired girl on the grounds, and she had called him that.
Unless he was Muggle-born, he would probably know her name. Her family was very influential, and they were big in politics. Even if he was Muggle-born there was a chance he could recognize her. Her father was a big criminal defense lawyer, after all.
"So. Wes, right? Let's start."
Mia put the remaining materials back into their respective jars and handed them to the curly haired boy, looking for his reaction. Was she right> Or had her almost perfect memory betrayed her?
