Birthday surprise

It had been a while since Kath had met up with Milo, all due to the chaotic summer she just had. As soon as things had settled, Katherine went back to Hogwarts to start her new year full of messy shenanigans all over again. She had received a letter from her dearest Milo, asking her to join him on the grounds at noon.
The letter was quite simple, not much to it. Katherine started to wonder what was he up to. And should she be worried? Was he planning some sort of surprise, as in a let's murder Kath surprise? Kath wasn't sure anymore if she should be scared for her life or to look forward to this.
To be honest, Katherine had missed his deep warmth a bit. Not to mention, his adorable acts amused Kath way too much. As the day arrived, Katherine couldn't help but want to put extra effort into her look. It's not that Katherine doubts her looks, in fact, she's quite confident about them.
It's just that she wanted to make sure everything was on point, in case milo does plan to murder her, at least she'd look quite pretty in her grave. Other than that, she also wants to put in the effort to impress Milo. It's not like they see each other every day, which is quite sad. She wore a black dress, that she gladly stole from her aunt's wardrobe.
Which fit her perfectly like a glove. She added her signature red lipstick, and silver rings with white nail polish for a change, something to lighten up all the black she wore. As noon came, Katherine quickly wore her heels and headed to the grounds. She quickly arrived and noticed a small picnic set up. It was quite adorable and the one person who could do such adorable acts was her one and only beloved Milo, But he was the one missing.
She stood there wondering where Milo could be, and she thought she was the one who was always late. At this point Kath was definitely sure Milo had tricked her by a picnic set-up, only to come and murder her at last. She was contemplating if she should stay or start looking around for him.

Birthday surprise
Finishing buttoning his shirt, he'd raise his shoulders, the shirt tightening. He'd had it for a few years, but couldn't remember the last time he had worn it. Perhaps he was growing again? But it was the perfect shirt for the day. He had laid out the outfit in the morning, packing up the rest of his clothes. Soon Durmstrang would leave and head back to their own school but before then, he had a plan.
The blonde would push open the tent flap and jog out, getting a few random looks at him as he jogged past groups of students. It was a day without any events so he took opportunity of it. I hope she received my letter.. He'd hum to himself, coming over the grassy hill. Quickly halting in his footsteps he saw her. His heart started fluttering, it had been so long since he saw her. Granted she faced away from him, he knew it was her. Nothing changed about her, if anything she grew more beautiful in their absence. Making sure his jaw wasn't hung open, he'd continue his descend, alas slower and quieter, hands shoved in his pockets nervously. Wait why the hell am I nervous? He'd pause once more, silently thinking for a second. Then an idea, followed by his signature shit eating grin.
Picking up the pace to a faster walk then a slow to fast run he'd call out her name. "KATH!" Realizing his speed was picking up too quickly he silently cussed. It probably looked like she was going to get run over from her point of view. Putting on the brakes and giving a quick prayer to gravity, he'd manage to slow himself down before wrapping his arms around her torso, giving her a deathly-tight hug, head tucked into the crook of her neck.

Katherine had turned to see the person who just shouted her name. She had no doubt it was milo. She watched as he rushed to her, Kath was concerned that he wouldn't be able to stop in time and crash into her. But happily, he stopped in time and gave her a tight hug. She hugged him back and spoke”I missed you way more love”,
Although did she actually mean it? Did she miss milo? Not really. Kath misses no one unless they've entered her heart. But she wouldn't show it to milo, she made sure it sounded sincere and from the heart even though it wasn’t.Milo for her was so far away from her heart, maybe because she was raised by heartless parents.
But to enter Kath's heart was one of the hardest and most impossible things to do, it takes time and patience and it was way too early for love. Kath had slowly pulled away from milo but kept her hands placed on his waist, she looked up at him with her icy eyes making them soft, but with a glint of mischief coating them.
She gave him one of her charming smirks and spoke” You keep getting more handsome each time I see you, you don't fail to make my heart flutter”, She paused and raised a hand to caress his cheek softly, she then continued” what's all this love? What's the occasion?”,
Katherine looked at the picnic and then back at milo. she was quite clueless. He didn’t mention any occasion for a picnic, did he want a date before he left? She was curious as to why he suddenly wanted to meet. It was quite clear that he had spent quite the time and effort making this picnic, which Katherine appreciated very much.
Katherine had started to feel weird feelings for milo and it wasn't love. It was more complicated and being far apart from each other due to different schools wasn't the best to help the situation. But she never showed that, she was quite perfect at what emotions to project and show. Kath was also careful with that, it took quite the practice thanks to having stoic parents.
Milo was too sweet which is quite an overwhelming feeling for Kath. She has never dealt with someone like that. Someone with that much kindness in their heart Kath has never received that type of kindness and sweetness before.Causing her mind to be so confused by such actions. But so far she’s doing her best to catch up as much as she can.
