Backdated to December 2021




As the winter holiday settled in, Katherine had decided to spend a few days with her beloved Aunt Bella at the Turner manor in London. It had been her second day there upon her arrival, she usually loved when she went over to the Turner manor. It was most probably due to the fact that Katherine loves her aunt and sees her as her role model.

Katherine had idolised her aunt ever since she was young. Aunt Bella wasn't the best idea for a role model, but something about her fascinated Katherine in many ways. It was around midnight, and Katherine had chosen to sit in one of the many Lounges in the manor. She had found a book that was lying around on the coffee table, it was one of those books that guided you in life and whatnot.

Katherine had decided to give it a small read, what useless shit she thought as she continued reading this pile of nonsense. While she was halfway through her reading, her eyes decided to wander away from the worthless sentences and up to the person who was now standing in front of her. ” Your not planning to sleep?” spoke her aunt.

” Not feeling sleepy,” Katherine sighed while closing the book and watching as her aunt sat next to her.” My dearest Kathy, tell me now what do you know about your family's past”, Aunt Bella spoke as she turned her head to look at Kath. The question had taken Katherine by surprise but she didn't show it,” Not much really other than most of them were heartless, stoic and found emotions useless”,

Aunt Bella burst out an obnoxious laugh at Katherine's reply and spoke” your so clueless my niece, ill show you and tell you some things about your ancestors come with me”, and with that, she took a hold of Kath’s wrist and dragged her all the way across the other side of the manor. Till they arrived in front of a huge door, a door that Kath had never seen before and her curiosity grew even larger by the second.

So what is it that Aunt Bella so desperately wanted to show Katherine? Bella finally let go of Katherine’s wrist and turned to her with a malicious smile then spoke” Here Kathy dear, This room is where it all started Or really just a room full of paintings of your ancestors but that's, not the point”, as she paused, Katherine was starting to think if she should start worrying.

Usually, when her aunt goes all wild and crazy in excitement as if she was a kid in a candy store, that’s when someone should start getting worried. Katherine watched as her aunt opened the door and walked into it. Kath had no choice but to follow her, it was extremely late to back out now.

As Kath followed Bella into the room, her curiosity grew even more vicious. It was just a long corridor and all she could see was a bunch of paintings on each side, hanging on a dark-coloured wall, paintings of her ancestors with their names written at the bottom of the frame. Was this just some family paintings? And what was the reason for her aunt showing her all this?

A million questions rang through Katherine’s head, she stopped in her track and spoke” What is this shit, You dragged me all the way across the manor just to show me some shitty museum of my ancestors? Whats the point I don't see what ur leading here”,

Katherine was just sick of waiting around when finally her aunt turned to face her and said ” First Language young lady, second there's something you don't know or really it’s just hidden. These ancestors were infamous dark wizards at their time. You must have wondered, why did they use it? Dark magic intrigued them they loved it not only did it make them feel powerful and be powerful, but they also believed its the true magic to learn”,

The Gryffindor was quite shocked at what Bella said but didn't show it, She was quite intrigued at this new information, something she didn't know about this messed-up family. Not only were they messed up mentally, but they were also messed up in the stuff they did. Katherine was shocked but she sort of expected stuff like this from her family.

Kath asked ” So then what? Did everyone continue to do it or did they stop?”, Which Bella replied to” yes, they stopped. When your great-great-grandparents came they stopped and redeemed the family name, they went through quite the hardship to clear the name and achieve what we have now”,

Katherine looked up again at the paintings then back to aunt Bella and said ” What made them stop and clear the name after everything?”, which earned her an immediate scoff from her aunt,” How the fuck would I know? I wasn’t in their heads when they chose that, Do I look like their own pet or something as if I was their cat then and listened to why they did what they did,” remarked her aunt.

As expected Katherine had rolled her eyes and listened to what her aunt announced next ” Listen here niece, what I'm about to tell you is a secret, it doesn’t get out got it? I practice dark magic in secret, you know damn well what happens to wizards or witches who still practice such magic, unless you want me locked up in Azkaban i suggest u keep ur mouth shut”,

An unexpected turn Katherine had thought, she’s never seen her devious aunt be so serious in her life. It shows how confidential this stuff was. A part of Kath was shocked and her eyes let that slip. She didn’t know what to expect from her aunt but definitely not this, she didn't know how to react and just nodded her head firmly as a reply.

And as soon as she had done that, Bella returned to her casual wild self with a big grin on her face and said” Hey don't be frozen little niece, I told you all this for your personal information and for you to know more about your wonderful family. What more could you want, plus I think your old enough to know. Anyways don’t tell your parents I told you or serious problems may occur, now let’s go get some snacks and listen to some music, the night has just begun my Kathy”,

Bella had led or more like pushed Kath out of the room, due to Kath having a small whiplash from her aunt’s change of behaviour. But nothing she isn’t used to from her aunt, expect the unexpected from Bella another fact Katherine grew to know from her.
