It's just a normal saturday night for Freya as she's about to have dinner with her family. Suddenly her doorbell rings, it's 9p.m so it was unexpected for her and her family considering its not the best time for unannounced visitors to visit.
"Can you get the door sweetheart?" Diana asks Freya
"yeah of course" Freya replys and goes to open the door.
"Trish!" Freya exclaims as she wasn't expecting on of her best friends to show up without a warning at 9 p.m and looking as she had been in a fight with cats as she was!
"Freya i need you to do something for me" Trish said in a very deep voice,
"Ofc, what is it? Do you wanna come in? Are you okay?" Freya bombards her friend with questions of genuine concern and worry.
"Everything is fine, just go to this adress tomorrow take someone with you if you want" She says handing Freya a peice of paper with an adress written on it in the most messy handwriting.
"I- Ofc i will, but why?" Freya asks looking at the adress and recognising it as the abandoned mansion in their town.
"Just trust me and go, please."
Trish said with a half smile and covers herself with her arms and walks away.

Freya watches Trish as she goes who knows where and closes the door and heads back to her family.

"Who was it sunflower?" Stefan asks Freya looking concerned
"It was Trish" Freya says back "She gave me this adress and asked me to go there. She also said that i can take someone with me?" she continues.
"Isn't that the abandoned mansion?" Stefan asks even more worried and concerned than he was while looking at the paper
"it is" Freya says looking a bit scared.
"If you wanna help a friend buttercup go for it! Take your best friend kayla with you! You said she's an adventurous funny girl! Why better adventure than this?"
Quillion says with a smile and takes a bite of his food.
"True! Alright thanks uncle quil!" Freya says with a smile and runs into her room excited to call Kayla!
"If she dies I'll coming for you" Stefan threatens Quillion.

Freya up in her room and calling Kayla hoping she picks up and shares the same enthusiasm as her!

It was past nine, Kayla sat in her bedroom-and Aidens- with headphones on her head, lying next to her brother as she sketched away- one of the few times they got along and spent some time together. She and her brother weren't exactly having a special occasion but she wasn't exactly angry, and Aiden could be really nice when they got along.
"Kay?" Aiden said suddenly, his voice kind of soft. Kayla didnt answer, she concentrated on her notebook. "Kayla? Kay!" Aiden yanked off the headphones that sat neatly on her head.
"Oh my gods, what do you want?" Kayla asked angrily, breaking the bubble that she and her brother had just had, the moment of peace. Aiden rolled his eyes and pointed at the door, Alyassa was standing there, her stance a bit awkward. Alyassa and Kayla looked mostly a like, they both had the same tall, lean figure, the same blue eyes. But Alyassa had long, silky black hair that reached her waist, quite different from Kaylas' messy brown hair.
"Oh, uh, hey Aly. Whats up?" Kayla asked, her voice sounding a bit apologetic from the outburst she had just had.
"Phones ringing for you, I think it's your friend. The brunnete one," Alyassa said, tossing her a phone that landed- thank goodness- on the bed.
"Thanks, Aly. Can you get out?" Kayla added to Aiden as Alyassa left through the door, reaching over to pick up the ringing phone.
"Why?" Aiden asked, arching an eyebrow.
"Beause I'm on a call- gotcha!" Kayla grabbed the phone and before putting it to her ear, she poked her brother in the stomach. "Out."
Aiden, being a smart kid, got off the bed and left through the door, before Kayla gave him anymore trouble. Putting the phone to her ear and shaking her hair back, Kayla said, "Hey, Fairy. What do you need at this hour?"

"Yay! You picked up! Ohmg i was so worried you wouldn't! Sorry for calling you at 9p.m, i hope you weren't sleeping?"

She asked kayla uncertain of what she was doing when Freya called.

"Well i just wanted to ask you if you'd like to come with me to a possibly haunted house which now only junkies and serial killers use to trap people!" Freya says this very wild sentence so enthusiastically that it can worry anyone about her mental state!
Freya loves horror movie and getting to know about the unknown but it can be a bit strange at times because of the way she talks about it.

"it'll be fun i promise! My friend Trish told me to go there and she said to just trust her and i trust her do you trust meeeee??" she extends the 'eee' a bit because she thinks it's fun. Freya knows what they're going to do is definitely dangerous and they'll be in wayyy to much trouble to keep track of but she also knows something is wrong with Trish and going to the mansion might let her know what?
"Oh! I forgot to mention where we're going! I don't know if you remember the old abandoned mansion we pass by sometimes but were going there" She says with a smile again and nods her head.

"It's cool, I was just with Aiden, not sleeping," Kayla responded, getting a more comfortable position on her bed.
"A haunted house, that's kinda a shady don't you think?" Kayla asked uncertainly, she defiantly trusted her best friend, but it was a little too convient that Trish had made her go to a location that everyone feared. Shady, shady indeed.
"Sounds fun though, I'm in. When are we doing this?" Kayla asked, setting aside her doubts into a mental saddle bag, packing them away for later. As long as she was with Freya, no demonic spirit could get them, right? Yeah, she thought so, too.

Keeping the phone clutched tightly to one ear, Kayla stood up and went into the hallway, where it had a turn to the left and a hallway leading to the living room, she knew her father was in there, working.
"Let me ask my dad, give me a sec." Kayla breathed in before screaming out at the top of her voice, "PAPA?!"
A weary voice, that sounded quite English, answered,"Yes?" Glad to here that her father was still awake, she skipped down the hall with the phone in her hand.
"Papa, can I go to the old mansion down with Freya?" Kayla asked, moving up and down on her toes.
"The haunted one? Who's Freya?" Nicholas Realma added. Kayla sighed.
"The brunnete one I invited here the other time. Yes, that's the one. Can I go please? Please, Papa?" Kayla pleaded.
Nicholas shook his head, his shaggy black hair shaking delicately.
"Sorry baby, that's really far, you can't go there alone. Even if it's the two of you. Take Aly or Liam with," Nicholas suggested. "It'll be safer."
"Papa..." Kayla said, loosing a bit of her patience. "Please? We'll stay out f trouble, I promise!"
Nicholas concidered this. "I've just heard bad stuff about that place, and after finding out about Liam, and you and Aly...those stuff might be true," Nicholas countered, trying to make his stubborn daughter see his point.
"Papa, your really going to belie things that stupid people make up for views and attention?" Kayla asked, feeling baffled.
"Ok, ok! But you have to be back safe, promise?" Nicholas said, finally giving in.
"Yay! I promise! Love you Papa!" Kayla gave her dad a hug before running back into the hallway. "He said yes. When are we going?"

"Ah thank god! I'm so glad I didn't disturb you!"
Freya said in a relief. She would hate to disturb her best friend's sleep especially when they were gonna have a busy and definitely one of the strangest days ever tomorrow.
"yeah ofc take your time! I hope he says yes tho! If he doesn't tell him I'll protect you at all costs!" She says smiling knowing that she really will protect Kayla at all costs, she loves Kayla the two share a bond Freya would have never imagined to share with anyone.
"Dorie that's great! We go there tomorrow! Sunday!" she says "oh and wear something you can run in, just in case you know what I mean?" Freya shrugs a bit awkwardly knowing what was waiting for them in that mansion there as she's been there when she was 6, she never told anyone about that incident; Freya knows almost everything about the mansion her past friends, family members all seem to have taken a particular interest on the subject.
"You know I've never told anyone this but I've been there before" Freya shares and continues, "Once when i was like 6 or 7 i was playing with my friends near the mansion. Back then it didn't look as terrible as it does now, it was actually pretty nice, i think my uncle knew the people who lived there! One of my cousins was friends with the family's son!" she adds , she isn't really proud of the fact that her family knew the people who lived there but it isn't a huge secret either since Quillion brings it up almost every 10 seconds.

"I'm really glad too! Oh tommorow, ok, sounds good. Ooh this'll be fun!" Kayla exclaimed excitedly. When Freya added that she should wear something runnable, Kayla rolls her eyes, something she was grateful Freya didn't see.
"Oh, please, I live in jeans, how are those not runnable?" But Kayla understood what she meant, if they were gonna be chased, she needed to be prepared. Chased? Please, hardly anything could happen. But then again, they lived in the wizarding world. Anything can happen. But there were some limits to the world they knew.
Kayla lay on her bed as she got a book open in front of her.
"I have a book on some magical creatures, I got it on my trip to Diagon Alley the other day. All the crazy stuff in here, do you reckon we'll spot a hag? Hags are cool. I mean dangerous!" Kayla corrected her self, as she flipped through babes of her book. "Bowtruckles are tree creatures, do you think we'll see them? Do I need a flashlight?"
Kayla was interested in this journey they were gonna take, j t seemed so fun, adventures, but she really didn't want to explain to the muggle police what she was doing at an abandoned house.

"hmm, why don't you bring the book with you?" she suggests.
"we should also carry backpacks with some things we could need if we got stuck in there? Like these to four flashlights, a power bank just in case our phones die and...." Freya tries and remembers if she's forgetting something and pauses for a moment, it isn't a big surprise tha Freya forgot something since she's very forgetful.
"JACKETS! we should keep a warm jacket!" she exclaims as she suddenly remembers.

"of course we need flashlights dorie" Freya says with a slight smile
"hmm i think we could? Best be prepared? Also i have to go to sleep now! Well at least pretend to go to sleep. My brother's are just arround the corner, see ya tomorrow Dorie! Good night" and with that Freya hangs up, turns arround, wraps herself in her very soft yet huge blanket and goes to sleep

Morning came and Freya woke up feeling uneasy? The adventure she was so excited for doesn't seem like an experience she should look forward to anymore? "Am i scared? No. That can't be? Right?"
She thinks to herself. Shoving those thoughts away she gets up and gets ready for the day!

Freya suggested they brought the book with. Kayla was about to protest that it was heavy, but then the Ravenclaw added that perhaps they brought backpacks, flashlights and powerbanks. Kayla frowned at the last one. Did she have a powerbank? She brushed the thought away and decided she'd just take Liams. Or her dad's. Either was good.
"I like jackets," Kayla agreed. Kayla worw a jacket everyday, no matter how hot or how windy. Freya then said they had to be prepared. True, an abandoned house was always bad news.
"Goodnight Fairy. Rest up for the big day," Kayla said to her best friend, before Freya hung up.
Kayla stayed up later that night, reading. Which was weird, Kayla didnt read often.

"Backpack?"
"Yes, Papa."
"Flashlights?"
"Yes, Papa."
"Is your phone fully charged-?"
"Oh my gods, yes, Papa. We'll be fine," Kayla promised. Nicholas seemed hesitant to let her go. Since he learned his wife was a witch, all the weird theories about big foot and other mysterious things seemed to make sense. He read all Kayla's and Aly's text books, in hope to learn more about their world. But that just made him more nervous.
"Ah, okay. Love you, enjoy the er, trip," Nicholas said, giving her another hug. Kayla was just shorter than his shoulders, it was intimidating at times.
"Byeeee."

Kayla knocked on the door of Freya's house upon arriving a bit early. She took her phone out of her pocket and texted Freya, thinking no one heard her knock.

I'm outside your houseee, open up!!

Freya starts walking down the stairs in her favourite green flannel, white tank top, blue shorts with white shoes because she decided that if she dies today she'll die looking cute✨
Elio suddenly stops her and says, "stay safe, don't die, keep me on speed dial." he says pointing his finger to Freya's phone looking slightly angry and afraid. Elio wasn't the one to believe in ghosts or well even monsters, which is of course strange since he is a wizard and has encountered countless of terrifying magical creatures. It was also something new for him to be so protective, Freya expects this behaviour from Vesper but from Elio it was a pleasant surprise!
"I'll try not die brother dearest!" Freya says with a sly smile. "FREYA YOUR TINY FRIEND IS HERE" Quillion yells from the ground floor.
"Coming!! Bye el! Freya yells back and gives Elio a quick hug and runs down.
Freya sees Kayla and a huge smile forms on her face and she runs straight to her but someone picks her up by her backpack and lifts her in the air. "Not so fast. Do you have your wand? Stefan asks. "Ofc i do! "snacks?" "wouldn't leave the house without gummy worms" Freya smiles. "your phone? Flashlight? Your watch? A powerbank? Jackets?" " yes dad! May i go now?" Freya asks with a little laugh. "if you must, be safe, have fun and protect yourself and your friend!" Stefan says knowing very well he'll burn down the entire city if anything happens to Freya. "will do! Bye dad! Bye uncle quillion! Love you!! Freya says as she runs out the door holding Kayla's hand.

"ahh I'm so excited!!! Are you?" Freya asks Kayla clearly showing her enthusiasm for this possible adventure they're heading towards.

Kayla heard someone shout, but she could barely make out the words. The only thing she heard was friend is here. Kayla could've sworn the person said tiny, but deciding that she heard wrong, swatted away the thought. Kayla looked at her phone screen, to see the battery decrease by one percent. It was on 99 now, and if she wasn't careful, it would soon scale down to zero in no time. Kayla turned it off and shoved the phone in her pocket.

When Freya came out not a moment too late, she said bye to her family and ran to Kayla, taking her hand. A grin spread across Kaylas' face as the two started off.
"I'm excitedish. This is terrifying," Kayla admitted, "And if I don't survive, burn my diary. Just saying."

Kayla laughed to indicate she was joking, she wasn't scared. She was ready and wanted to do this, but her fear dominated her excitement. Even doing this with Freya, she was nervous. Who goes into a haunted house willingly? Unless the ones on Halloween counted. Those weren't scary. Kayla shivered slightly, but she didn't want Freya to notice her fear. She would do this. She could do it- right?
